Why Boba Fett Stayed at Jabba's Palace for a Year

Why was Boba Fett still at Jabba's palace by the time of Return of the Jedi? Did he stay there the whole time? From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi gives us a solid answer relating back to the Star Wars comics.

A fine explanation, but Boba being there didn't really need one aside from it being a convenient place for R&R between bounties, as opposed to him being there 24/7 for a year

now the real question is: what does boba do with all of his credits? he's an extremely successful and sought-after bounty hunter, so he must be making bank, but he hardly seems interested in hedonistic pleasures. what does he spend all his money on?

Boba is very likely someone that is a Bounty Hunter not for the money but because thats what his father had done. Money has little value to him, outside being a sign that he does his profession well and for maintanance. I believe he uses alot of his money during the Book of Boba Fett.

Right? I mean, the whole reason that Han was frozen in carbonite was because Vader used him and Leia as bait for Luke. Surely it would make sense that Luke and Leia would try to rescue Han from Jabba.

Getting hired as a personal guardi makes sense. But ... I never assumed that Fett had stayed there the entire year,in the first place. I just figured he'd come back for business, and it just happens to be when everything went down. Why, if I go into a building and see someone standing there, then go back a year later, and see them again... I don't assume that they've been standing there 24/7 365.

Maybe I'm just confused about the timeline, but if Jabba was the sole Hutt survivor during the Crimson Dawn events, where did the twin Hutts that were in Book of Boba Fett come from?

Simple, they weren’t part of Cartel leadership. Jabba was the sole survivor of the Hutt Cartel leadership, not the Hutt species as a whole.

After checking out the Bounty Hunters War comics, Boba pissed off a lot of criminal syndicates and Vader so it is likely that Fett stayed in Jabba's Palace to keep a low profile until things cool down between the Empire and the Syndicates until the Dark Droids incident came up.

Seems a little bit convoluted. Especially for something set up in 1983. Could easily just say Jabba wanted Han guarded because of the high likelihood he would be rescued. Instead of trying to shoehorn in plot threads from the current canon.

🤔Wait. He didn't stay there all the time. Boba recently appeared in the Bounty Hunters comic series before RotJ at another place some time after he delivered Solo to Jabba. On that place he's confronted by almost every other Bounty Hunter from that series. I think that doesn't fit.

Fun fact: Jabba is the first trans character in Star Wars. Jabba self identifies as male but is biologically female. His species are born male, over time would change into female and can give birth. I hope I didn't start a war.
