Bobby was lying this whole time and Mark and Sam kept pointing out that he’s full of crap. But the good thing is because of this episode, the comedy store invited a bunch of NY comics out, and next month, Mark , Sam, Dan Soder and Andrew Schultz, got to do sets

Why would a great comic have to text another great comic to get a spot in a club? That just seems strange to me.

comedy spots are the wild west. Minutes on stage are gold to comedians, so there's basically a black market type deal going on, behind the scenes at many clubs. It's often even worse at lesser clubs and open mic type events. Open mikes will often be run by some aspiring comedian, who has the connection with the venue and sets everything up. If the venue is good and well visited, the comedian who runs the mic is golden and can spend the minutes he gives to other comedians to get himself lots of stage time at other venues. For every Dave Chapelle you see, there's a whole group of people who might have had the talent to get to his level, but who never made friends with the right people to get enough stage time to evolve into a Chapelle. My source, you ask? I'm a comedian on the lowest possible tier.
