There are really fun POI’s on Broken Moon, but they’re on the outskirts where nobody goes to: Production Yard and The Foundry are really fun places to fight in, especially on drop. But most of the time everyone’s landing either at Terraformer or within that general area. And by the time you rotate to that part of the map, more than half the lobby is gone.

“I like broken moon more than stormpoint” is something I see a lot of people agreeing on but that isn’t a high bar. For me the map lacks identity and gameplay because looking at the map you can’t tell it’s a lunar colony unless you really squint at it. The map needs something to stand out visually and to fill in the huge empty spaces with something. My suggestions for new locations would either be a forest or a junkyard because we haven’t really got either of those on any map

It’s too open. It punishes aggressive gameplay, and rewards passive gameplay. The flow of the map basically forces you into a rank style gameplay in pubs. There’s no room for outplay really, if you get thirded there’s no where to go Bc it’s so open, it rewards mid-long range, and like you said, there’s no interesting poi’s to fight at all. I genuinely don’t really like fighting any where besides the middle mall area

Yes, this. Whenever broken moon is in rotation for pubs i default to playing ranked (if playing at all that is, i really dislike this map). Unobstructed and long sight lines is the definition of a bad game design; great rule of thumb - is sniper becoming the meta? - yes - change that

The zip lines just mess up the flow of the map. Why make such a huge map, if you can get across it in mere seconds to gank squads easier? I used my valk ult went over a mountain and took multiple zip rails to get away trying to rez my teammates. Which most respawn beacons are directly under zipline paths.. great design lol finally get the rez off and within seconds the same team found us and murdered them instantly lol

They literally made two BIG POI's Identical on Broken Moon. And several smaller ones which are also basically the same as well. They should have just made the map smaller, cut the rails which wouldn't have been needed then if the map was smaller. And cut out all the repeating areas.

I don't get why they didn't just make a map in the Arena map "Encore". That looks so fresh compared to the other maps. Broken moon is just more of the same shit 😐 They should have just gone WILD wild with the sky colors and atmosphere.

I quit playing the game halfway through season 14. I noticed the game going in the downward direction and I didn’t have any high expectations for the new map or the new season after being let down every single season. I am not at all surprised about the map being the way it is, it’s the easiest way for them to push out content with doing as little work as possible and still getting people to continue to play it. This game will be like every other first person shooter game pretty soon they’ll be a handful of diehards still playing it and that will be it.

They need a vertical big city map. With more interiors, bigger buildings, more vertical playable levels and smaller horizontal diameter of the map. It would boost all scan, movement and trap meta if you had so many more routes above and below in a massive city with distinct different districts, industrial areas, main streets, alleys, museums, parks etc. as POI's. Move through subways below in some areas, or on shorter buildings rooftops in others. It would be the best map in Apex if they did that 👏😐 And it would be distinct and fresh from the other maps which are all flat and huge. Make something smaller and more vertical.

See I think theres something that ALL the other maps need to change, but BM doesnt have an issue with. And thats the loot. Ya see, I like to go with the flow in pubs. and if teammates wanna hot drop (most do), then I'm down to follow suit. The only issue is, MOST of the popular hot drops (think Cap City, Estates, Fight Night, Bonsai Plaza) have such shitty loot distribution and density. I feel like BM does a great job of making sure you don't run thru an entire building and not find a gun. Theres floor loot everywhere. It feel like floor loot is mostly only found indoors on the other maps. Not so on BM. Why can't they update the other maps to have better loot density? I find myself getting off Apex when the rotation switches to Olympus or World's Edge. Because I get so damn frustrated with not being able to compete half the time on hot drops. With having to split off 100m away just to get my own loot space, only to turn around and find both my teammates are down and have their cursor hovering over Leave Match.

This game was shit at the end of the year, they didn't add the train, they added the carbine and the volt as craftable weapons and they didn't even leave the best maps in the rotation, like Kings Canyon and World's Edge. And man it's funny how they put Broken moon for about 2 hours, but Olympos which is the best between those 3 for 1 hour

Also funny thing is you ether join the giant clump of 3rd party destruction to maybe get 2 kills and then get 8th partied or you loot up walk around for 7 min with blue armor maybe one chip damage from afar, and then you suddenly face off against 3 full red armor fully equipped and you just get chewed up like bubblegum.

I agree with you on Broken Moon and Storm Point I don't like either map and the other 3 maps are the solid heavy hitters rn. I was really hoping for a huge city map with one part abandoned and run down ancient buildings and the other part shiny new style modern buildings. Maybe a huge graveyard section where we get to see what modern graves look like with holograms of the persons memory and an old overgrown part of the graveyard too with an underground crypt section. Imagine taking cover behind gravestones trying to get to the next place.

I dnt agree with everything u said I think there are some places like promenade where u get third parties a lot basic death trap I believe u can fight a lot of places wit out interference because all tht “ empty space in between “ tho might seem tht way sometimes cuz the super zip and it’s movement it gives teams to press can they have done better like give it a big interesting theme highlighting its map yes I think since it’s a moon they should’ve added a dark side of it dark sky with stars and dark mountains and landscapes tht would b pretty cool

Broken Moon is just big flashy POI’s with barely any structures. It had so much potential, like imagine if it looked like Guru Meditation, a legendary Catalyst banner frame. I love the way that they gave the map life in the tiny details like the mall, pictures in the houses, but everything else is so bland. Its just a mix of grays, browns, and greens. edit: broken moon is now my favorite map, tied with stormpoint :)

I totally agree. I like all maps, but Broken Moon it's just boring. My teammate and I always follow the same path and land in the same place all the time. For some reason, it doesn't feel so boring on other maps. When it was released, the fast ziplines were fun, but then everything leads to them, constantly the same ways. Devs advertised this map with the largest zipline system. If they had added A LOT MORE ziplines, like a spider web, it would have been really fun and unusual. P.S. I am here, because it`s in map rotation again... P.P.S. And again I agree with your opinion. Good channel, no hate, not complaining, just good analysis

Way way too vertical. I find the map disorienting. A good map is flatter (not completely flat, kinda like WE'S terrain. The terrain of the new map makes it such a chore to get to other poi's, while also insuring any fight that happens is one sided. Movement meta, the only way I find the map remotely playable is by using a speedy legend. The reason this is because of the terrain makes traveling a chore. Having a ton of Ziplines exacerbates fourth parties, making any engagement a war between 3 or 4 squads. Plus in general the many Ziplines only serve to clutter the map. The interior design of the buildings are circular which makes them harder to comprehend (in a sense. Square rooms are much easier on the eyes and mind). Circular designed poi's are not a good idea. Mid to Long range is meta, a lot of fights are medium ranged engagements. Almost everyone is forced to go through Promenade. It's an awful area..

Olympus is bad for me, visually it has some great areas but only 2 POI's are fun on it. Worlds Edge is the best, and I honestly would kind of like to see the Original Worlds Edge return even 😐 There was no reason for them to overcomplicate that map, it was perfect right off the bat. Only Trials is the real improvement to the map. Everything else is whatever or worse. Kings Canyon being expanded made it worse too. The scope of the Original was a perfect blast to play. Stormpoint is just too big as well. Had it been just 2-3 POI's smaller and placed the interesting edge map POI's closer to center it would have been so much better. Instead the center of the map that gets the most play is just a mess. With the Jurassic Park shit, Antenna, and the Sniper place whatever it's called. And Broken Moon... well... it has some nice looking areas but they messed up again putting some shit like Promenade at the center of the map. It should have been Bionomics the garden tower place at the center of the map. Even with the rails it suffers from being too big and having WAY too big POI's at the edge of Map and overall.

No, I have never considered that at all, because that future map is not playable right now. I wish I could play that future map. What is playable right now is bad. Day 1 KC, World's Edge, and Olympus were light years ahead of SP and Broken Moon, so there's a reason why I think BM is a poor map. Besides, "release now, fix later" is such a shitty thing about live service. It's made consumers complacent. And if memory serves right, SP only ever got 1 update, and it was with the sea monster and the IMC caches. Good change but literally inconsequential.

@@b.r.207 KC, Ol & WE were also smaller maps ( with Ol being the smallest ) of them all. I love tgese type of biggee maps...forces you to adjust ur strategy and make you extra cautious when walking around...have extra patience before making a move. I think that's the problem what players have with this map...everything needs to b fast fast....people don't want to miss any action thereby making mistakes or running into an enemy squad all by themself. Like I said...I'm happy that there aren't any special entry points in this map. Just hop in and have fun.
