New Sony A7R iv hybrid camera, which will cost you around $3400, whereas you can get the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 lens for $2300. Why do lenses cost almost the same or more than many flagship cameras, you may start to wonder why camera lenses are expensive?

Yes, at $25000 (no, that's not an extra zero - it costs as much as a car) new, the Sigma 200-500/2.8 is definitely one of the cheap lenses.

Some ridiculous mistakes in this video. The euro to dollar conversion was completely wrong and then you said that the Sigma 200-500/2.8 is cheap, while costing $25000. And above it, you showed a miraculous 5-200mm Nikon DX lens, which is actually a 55-200mm lens.

It's like most technology with accessories - if a manufacturer sells a camera, it's a one-shot deal. But! They can keep you buying by offering lenses, lenses, lenses! Kodak had a simple business model: affordable cameras - which needed to be fed Kodak film. Best wishes from Vermont ❄️

not All DO lenses are soft. Nikon's 600mm and 800mm diffractive optics are pro grade optics.

If only these people heard of camcorders. They brag about their cameras having interchangeable lenses even though they constantly have to buy ridiculously expensive lenses to be able to have good footage. Consumer and prosumer camcorders dont have interchangeable lenses so they cant have a “kit lens quality” lens, they have to have a amazing lens thats meant for every situation. Like these quality camcorders that are the price of your lens alone can do more than 35x zoom, they have good lowlight and amazing quality. I mean just look at the jvc gz-mg330! It currently sells for under 30 bucks second-hand! Yeah it records 576i but it has 35x optical zoom and amazing lowlight! Imagine a lens so good for 30 bucks…
