For todays adventure I'm truck bed camping in the beautiful Texas hill country using the Napier backroads truck tent.
I'm camping one of the busiest, most popular state parks in Texas. However, I'm camping midweek during the winter and there's plenty of rain and fog in the forecast. Camping under these bad weather conditions typically means less campers will be at the park and I can enjoy isolation and solitude at the campsite. That was definitely the case in today's adventure, as it seemed I had the entire park all to myself.
Although the camp setup was a bit soggy and gloomy, once I had my shelter up, I was able to enjoy the relaxing sounds of raindrops on my canopy and I had the best sleep ever while camping.
In this video I also enjoy some brief windows and good weather and took the opportunity to hike near the beautiful Frio river. while the weather was clear I also spent an afternoon cooking over the open campfire and testing out some new camp cooking equipment.
I was most excited to test out my new dutch oven as this would be my first time ever cooking in a cast iron dutch oven.
If you enjoy camp cooking, nature, and the moody ambience of a few gloomy nights at camp, then this video is for you.
