So sorry, only just saw this - you will need to reconnect your Kindle to access things. You go into Settings, and select Wireless. You can also connect your Kindle to your compter to manually load books onto the the Kindle, if you prefer. That just means that you'll need to download the books to your computer first, which doesn't work well for Amazon content but can work for books you get from your library or other sources.

At this point, the Kindle app on your other devices is just another way you can reach the content you have - and the perk is that the Kindle software will take you to the last page you read on whatever device! 👍 Hope you enjoy your Kindle as much as I do!

You can only get them by going to Amazon via browser. Yoou can do that from your desktop or laptop computer, a Chromebook, or using a browser on your phone or Fire device.

I am unable to buy Kindle books on my laptop through the web browser. I haven't bought a Kindle book in a few months. I went online this morning to down load a couple of books, and I got a box that says "available for download now" but there is no button to push and nothing to click on. And those words are written in small black type in the usual order box but the box is plain white. I don't have any apps. I tried amazon/ebook and I still can't order and down load a book--same thing happens if I try that route. Puzzled and frustrated.

I’m in the UK, and use my iPad mini for kindle and kindle unlimited. I’m getting ‘Available for download now’ in red print, on the book page, where I’d normally click to download, but am not able to do so. It’s really weird, and has only just begun to do this. I’m fully paid up for kindle unlimited, too, which is really annoying. I can’t get any sense from the web, either. You’d think Amazon would put out a warning, wouldn’t you, on the main page.

Have you tried doing it from a browser instead of an app? That should work on any device. 🤞 Just open a browser, go to amazon.com, and then go to whatever content you're trying to load to your Kindle there. That should let you download it to whatever device you want.

This morning I woke up and went to buy a book and I can't. I am on my kindle and went library > kindle store. I also have kindle unlimited and I used to be able to click 'Read for Free' but that is gone as well. The only thing I can do is add to my list, yesterday it was fine? Any thoughts? I have reregistered my device and restarted it multiple times. I buy books often through my kindle in the kindle store, I don't understand why it won't work now? I would assume it would work since this is my kindle, you even showed it in this video, granted it's August now.

You'll need to use the browser to go Amazon, not any of the apps. That's where to see the option.

@@YourTechCoach The browser is what I was referrring to. The option to buy kindle books in the Kindle Store on the web browser is not there on the right hand side like it used to be. Unless there is some hidden buttton that I'm missing, I don't think it's possible to buy kindle books anymore in Amazon UK. The message on all the kindle store books says "This title is not currently available for purchase."

@@ramonedixon Maybe try a different browser or device. You absolutely can purchase Kindle content when you use a browser to access and log in to the Amazon store. You can also make Kindle purchases from physical Kindle devices. It's only the store app and Kindle app that are blocked from purchases.

@@YourTechCoach And like I said, also Amazon UK. I tried Google Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, all web browsers on my pc say the same thing, "This title is not currently available for purchase." You can of course, fact check this by trying for yourself, you may find that in Amazon US, there is no problem, but in the UK store, there is a Kindle book purchase issue. So if I am to always use another region to buy a kindle book, I'm not quite sure yet what that will look like in terms of additional fees! Seems problematic to me.

You don’t make it clear! Why is Amazon not permitting purchases on mobile? You don’t explain. If it’s more profitable to do so, why wouldn’t they just let the purchases be available in-app?

Actaully, I did - they don't want to pay a cut to Apple or Google, which is required if the purcahse is made in the app. Purchases make via the browser means they don't have to give anyone else a cut.

Google and Amazon really need to put customer service first and resolve their differences, or else they may find those customers exercising their right to shop elsewhere ! I bitterly resent the aggressive monetising attitude these companies have adopted particularly Google's policy on copyrighted content and restrictions in fair use of music and video clips on KZbin and especially the maddening use of ads throughout the viewing of non-premium KZbin content !! They are unfit and unworthy to own such an important resource as KZbin....and these petty wars between them selves and Amazon over the rights to sell content using their own platform serve to illustrate this contemptible 'greed first, customer last' stance ! It makes me want to call on all Amazon and Google Android users to act collectively and to boycott use and purchasing of their content until they come to their senses ! As far as copyright goes, that's also not a KZbin or Google issue - people who create content own the copyright and goes well beyond just online. When you go to "pay" for the Kindle content, it should indicate that it's using your credits. You may need to check the fine print - sometimes not all content can be purchased using credits. Other than that, I'd suggest reaching out to the Amazon support team for help. 👍

Correct. To get the whole book, you'll need to go to your Kindle device and buy it (if you have one) OR go to a web browser and go to Amazon, go into your Kindle library, select the sample, and buy it from there. Extra steps but it works!

I thought I bought the books as digital copies but I can't actually access them when in situations that would make me want to read such as bad weather or hurricane level damage. When the local data goes down on my phone the books are never readable. So I feel like I don't really own the books. It's as if the books are from some sort of library that I have to have the internet to access. Sad realization. I am disappointed because now I still have to purchase these books even though they already got my money for the digital version. Basically any great working mainstream business will turn into crap after the elites get their hands on it. I guess the world is still a greasy kitchen soap bubble. Perhaps I'm wrong but if so just let me know. I didn't think this would ever become so complicated. Super sucks!!!

You can read anything you have already downloaded without being connected, but it won't sync your location in the book (or whatever you are reading) until you connect again. You also need to be connected to view your full library or buy new books.
