My favorite setting on my Kindle is how much time is left in a chapter. I often will read so much that I ignore other things! On the bottom left of the screen I have my settings on "Minutes left in chapter" so I read for another two minutes (or whatever time) and am able to break at a point that makes sense. These are great tips!

I got my kindle as a gift and I’ve read 8 books on it so far (since dec 7th) 😅📚 I’ve already found some of these tips but I’ll definitly start to mark words I don’t know. English is my second language and I do like to understand the nuances of the language. I’m not turning of ads, the book I’m reading now was a suggestion and it was on point! This is the fourth book I’m reading by this author and I would never have found her without it.

I just tried to have customer service remove my ads lol she wasn’t having it. She said that the higher ups actual took away their ability to even remove them for people because they were getting so many requests from people to remove them.

That’s crazy, I just had mine removed by someone for free about a week ago! I just used their chat option to talk to a customer service agent and politely asked if they could remove them, no excuses or anything, and they did. So I think it may depend on who you’re talking to!

I have been furious over my tbr being cluttered and I have to wade through books I’ve already read and collections didn’t solve that as the books still remained with other books too. This is great! The Kindle Paperwhite Special Edition - Comes add FREE - Has Auto Brightness but I'm not a fan... prefer to adjust brightness and warmth myself - Although I have Dark Mode set on my laptop, I don't like to read books with it on. - The time is something I didn't think was necessary as I could just touch the screen and see the time, BUT I've turned it on... ty. - The Zoom I did use often, although I think I've found my sweet spot as I don't use it as often anymore - I wish that we could actually change the orientation like we do on a phone... would much perfer to have the flip it totally to continue reading while I'm charging. It would be easier. Hasn't stopped me but it would be more comfortable.

💡 New subscriber here. I’ve had every past Kindle model except the Voyage and the Oasis. I knew all of the features you mentioned but I learned another one a few months ago. It always bugged me that sometimes the page number was displayed on the screen while other times it was the location number or nothing at all. I learned that on most books you can shift between seeing the page number, location number, etc. by touching the bottom left hand corner of the page. Apologies if you have mentioned this feature in one of your other videos.

since i know that if i buy a book on kindle I’m not really buying it and instead i purchase a license to access that book, i never bought a book there. It’s crazy to me that u have no control over your bought stuff because technically you didn’t even buy it to own it. They can change the cover if they want, they can change words or paragraphs and if Amazon feels really funny they can completely delete your book like???? Absolutely not

Oh man you have to be so careful! I brought every single season of Downton Abbey on here which cost me almost 200 bucks, after less than 2 years they were all unavailable (I purchased others that are still there from longer before). Done a Google, found out yes, you're only buying a 'part' of the license.... Thankfully on the terms it says if it happens before 2 years you can request a refund. I had to force a refund but I got one. Now, I'll never buy anything digital. I'm too scared they'll take it away! And yeah if it's after 2 years of purchase..... You're not in the terms and they don't care. Crazy!

Hello Lottie Thank you for this video. Would you know a way to increase the font size of the kindle commands? I mean the size when looking at definitions or translations. I already am the jock of the town because me setting makes about 25-30 words a page. This way I can read in bead without my glaces but I but I can’t read the words definitions, the time, the progression in the book and so on The Kindle basic font size is so little that I can’t read it. I am very pro-advertisements on kindle. they're just ads for other books, or alerts to sales on ebooks. And, when I have my kindle in airplane mode (which is most of the time) I sometimes do not get them at all, only a generic image with a "there's more to read on our store" type of message. great way to save a little bit, and you can pay the fee to be ad free later

I have a question... I have a kindle e reader that I do like. It's my first one and the past (since 2011) I have used kindle fire tablet. I like the home screen more on the fire tab because its easier to customize. I buy alot of different books like cookbooks or baking but don't want to read them anytime soon. On the fire tablet, I can add to collection and delete from home page and keeps the books I am wanting to read asap, in order. However, I noticed on my e reader (oasis) that the book stays there even if I click "delete download". Is this one of the drawbacks of e reader vs tablet? I appreciate the help.

I did the online chat with Amazon to get rid of the ads on my kindle like everyone told me about and they were notttt having it!! I explained that the romance book covers with the ads were very inappropriate and I didn’t want to see them and she basically typed back and said “I’m sorry, that is distressing.
