Good video! I always enjoy your approach and demeanor in teaching this subject. One nitpick that I have learned elsewhere (though I am not an expert in this, but just passing along info I have learned from experts) is that "WILD" (an LD entered directly from a waking state) is not best referred to as a technique. It is, instead, one of the 2 entry points to an LD, the other being "DILD", (becoming lucid from within a dream). They are the 2 "doorways". The techniques are like the keys that allow one to open one of these doors, in this metaphor. Some might think this a distinction without a difference, but I would disagree, as it avoids category errors that lead to confusion and lack of clarity. To be fair, I imagine people often say things like "using WILD technique" as shorthand for "using a technique that allows for a WILD", and maybe that's what you are doing here. I really think LaBerge himself started this confusion by coining those acronyms, and also naming one of his DILD techniques MILD, which sounds like it is in the same category, due to ending in ILD. In that case, the "I" actually stands for "Induced", whereas in WILD and DILD, it stands for "Initiated" (or where the starting point of the LD was).

WILD is a category, but there's also the WILD technique, and while there are many ways to do it, it's an all roads lead to Rome kind of thing, as the overall process of remaining passively aware as you transition into a dream, the goal of WILD, remains constant. The only main exception to traditional WILD anchors is DEILD, as that involves utilizing the hypnapompic transition and not fully waking up.

I can get lucid but I struggle to change my enviroment. When I ask the dream to take me somewhere like Antartica for example or to the stars, to the mountains, or to New York...it takes me somewhere totally different...it has zero relevance to where I wanted to go...how do I change this? Please help.

Dream control and lucid dreaming are 2 separate things. Dream control is all about your perception, everything that informs how you perceive things, and what you most strongly associate with happening in any given moment. Give the following a read, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Dream control works on how you perceive what you're experiencing. The goal is to strongly associate actions you take and decisions you make with the results you want to have happen. How we remember, classify, and define things and interpret situations, it's all based on how we associate things. Groups of interconnected associations related to a concept, thing, etc, are a schema, schemata plural. Consider the fact that right now, we are communicating with one another. We can read and write this message without expressly considering the definition of read, write, expressly, consider, or communicate. We just know, because we have learned to associate those words subconsciously with their meanings. We do this with a ton of things all the time. You see or hear something, you have an idea of what it is, this helps inform you through learning of what you are experiencing in the environment around you. What you believe or think about an experience, your emotions in the moment, your mindset, etc, these can influence how you perceive things. Just something like someone walking toward you for example. If you're in what you perceive as a safe and familiar area, you may just perceive that person as going about their business and not a threat to you. If you're in what you perceive or think of as a dangerous part of town, and you see someone you don't know walking in your direction, your response to that may be different. Of course, when we're awake, there are externalities. There's an actual other person there who is doing something, and what we perceive of that person doesn't define their actions, though it can inform us of how we might respond. In dreams however, there are no externalities. It's like an echo chamber of sorts. That perception you have of what you experience is reality. If you can control that perception, you can control the experience itself.

yep, exposure to sunlight shouldn't stop that stage of sleep from happening to the average person, but if you find that sleeping on that schedule isn't as restful as it should be, something like blackout curtains in your room or a comfortable sleep mask could be helpful

Hey I just had a very very weird dream I saw dream in afternoon nap so many dreams I got There are few I remember one is so real that is like I found a house that's so mistery when I got in I just got so many illusions like house room are moving around and a girl is there and a song is played in background it's so dark it's like a horror vibe then I jumped into that maze then so many interactions I got with girl I don't remember anything but one thing I remember when I get in the 1 room there is a man lying in bed and besides bed girl standing with a gas device it's like small amount of gas fire going through that metal blue flames though I suddenly approached the girl I subconscious ly checked if that's dream because it's too real I tried to smash her with moves 1. Rasengan 2. Chidoori 3. I don't remember 4. Kamehameha But it didn't work so I thought it was seriously real then I tried to stop the machine but It didn't work my hand got in blue flames it's burned little I got scared again I checked if it's a dream I will not get pain but I failed my hand got sore than I ran again I checked if it's a dream I tried zenitsu thunder breathing but It didn't work finally I ran as hell I can still hear that gas device sound then I jumped a wall I got escaped Still my mind is like is this dream or am in a parallel universe if it's yes I helped this guy to escape Then I found a guy he helped me then the story happened was like a written dream story it's like predicted the things but first half of the story was too real to me Then I woke up I woke up because of something it means in last I jumped into water I just got woke up it's just like a snap transition I feeled that.. So my doubt is if this is a dream why my moves didn't work in the story. It's like I subconsciously tested if it's a dream Or this incident happened in another reality Or I don't get a conscious to my dream so my subconscious reality check didn't work
@SkyfallBlindDreamer
@SkyfallBlindDreamer Жыл бұрын
Lucid dreaming and dream control are not the same thing. Lucid dreaming is knowing/being aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. It seems you were doubting your lucidity throughout this dream. One thing I will caution, when doing state tests (the proper term for reality checks), never do them mindlessly or on autopilot. State tests require critical thinking and present moment awareness to be effective. Dream control works off how you perceive what you're experiencing in a given moment. There are many state tests that are unreliable because they only work this way, and not through objective waking-dreaming differences. The goal with dream control is to strongly associate the actions you take and decisions you make with the results you want to have happen. Things like thoughts, beliefs, emotions, your overall mindset, etc, anything that can influence your perception, influences your dreams.

JUST WONDERING - Anyone here at my Level of Dream Control? I'm far past Lucid Dreaming and have practiced Full Dream Control every night since I was around 10 years old. I'm 58 now. I can fall asleep in under 2 min and control every dream in detail (I'm God in my dreams) without even trying now. Kind of like the Holodeck on Star Trek but much better. Anyone at my level???

It's an achronym. It can go both ways sometimes with 3 letter achronyms. Many 3 letter ones don't form distinct words, like NSA, ABA, etc. Also, sometimes it makes more sense to use the letters instead of a word, like SAT, sporadic awareness technique, you will usually find someone saying the letters rather than the word sat. It can go either way.
