My cat has never scratched me on purpose. That being said he’s a very cuddly and clumsy fluff nugget and I love him as much as he loves me. He loves climbing into my lap while I’m sitting or laying down and taking a nap either curled up with his belly exposed or laying straight (the latter is usually while he’s squished himself between my legs while I lay on my back, although I’m usually curled up so he curls up behind my knees in the bends of my legs.)

The concept of the T-rex "not seeing" you if you don't move likely has to do with the response to movement. You can see this in frogs and lizards. They won't initially attempt to hunt the insect or worm right in front of them, until their brain registers a specific minimal type of movement. That way, they won't inadvertently be eating rocks or debris or dead insects. Hence, if the worm doesn't move, they "don't see it".

As someone who worked at an airport for two years, I just want to clarify something. The facts you shared are correct: When bringing liquids *through TSA,* they must be limited to no more than 3.5 oz and, alternatively, frozen liquids are indeed acceptable. However, it is *not* true that you can't bring liquids (namely beverages) onto the plane. You certainly can, provided that you've bought them from a store or restaurant within the terminal *after* you've gone through TSA.
@kandipiatkowski85892 жыл бұрын
I have been stopped at security for having a bottled beverage, but once you are thru security, you are allowed to buy beverages and bring them on the plane. I always thought one of the reasons (in addition to the security concerns) was just a way for the airport to make money....lol

It is a way to make money too but have you heard of the money saving hack on overpriced water? You can bring an empty bottle through TSA and after security you can refill it at water refill stations/water fountains for free. And as for ice, go through security and after security you can ask any coffee shop for ice. The coffee shops will likely give you ice free if you have your own container but may be more likely to charge something if they give you in a cup because they are really charging for the cup.
@jayasmrmore36877 ай бұрын
Some airports allow ice through security if it’s not even partially melted you can pour out just the melted part but I think the safer way is to get ice after security. Liquids and gels are prohibited.

In Jurassic Park, the reason why Grant believed that the T-Rex vision was based on movement, is explained in the original novel and partially explained in the movie. when the scientists harvested the DNA, it was fragmented, full of holes. they needed to fill in those holes with DNA from moden animals. the movie claimed that they used frog DNA, but in the book, the T-Rex had chameleon DNA mixed in. This had the effect of giving the T-Rex a long prehensile tongue. but I guess Grant also figured that because frogs and chameleeons only strike when the prey is moving around in front of them, that the T-Rex wouldn't strike? but then again, in the book, the T Rex used its tongue to feel around until it found what it was looking for

Not all figs need to be pollenated by wasps. Persistent (or common) figs have all female flowers that do not need pollination for fruiting; the fruit can develop through parthenocarpic means. This is a popular horticulture fig for home gardeners. Dottato (Kadota), Black Mission, Brown Turkey, Brunswick, and Celeste are some representative cultivars. Caducous (or Smyrna) figs require cross pollination by the fig wasp with pollen from caprifigs for the fruit to mature. If not pollinated the immature fruits drop. Some cultivars are Marabout, Inchàrio, and Zidi. Intermediate (or San Pedro) figs set an unpollinated breba crop but need pollination for the later main crop. Examples are Lampeira, King, and San Pedro. Just to set the record staight. There was also a Dutch recipe for apple pie in the early 16th century, in the first printed Dutch cookery Book (Notabel Boecxken van Cokeryen ca. 1514), which only had apples in it.

I really enjoy your show, there is so much to learn. Please allow me to speak out, after watching the rabbits having been used to determine a woman's pregnancy: For years I have hoped that we would stop subjecting innocent animals to product testing, putting them through horrors against which they can't defend themselves. With all the technology available, why haven't we come up with humane methods instead of vivisection, etc.? So many of them end up in shelters, some of whom only put them down! Do please talk to managers in stores, they pay attention if you insist on "animal safe" products. We are the only ones who can speak up for the creatures, and to put an end to so much suffering. Even so-called "sports" or "games" often involve unbelievable cruelty. We are all part of one world, and if we close our eyes to the pain of animals who are our best buddies, how can we claim to have a loving heart and soul? If we stick them in factory farms, unable to move, how much frustration and misery builds up in their bodies, and even if you look at it only from our own viewpoint that "we are what we eat," what effect will that have on our bodies in turn? It still comes down to "treat others the way you would like to be treated yourself." Peace and love to everyone.

Putting the pedal to the metal to get away from a T-Rex might find you bumping into another one instead of getting to safety. Why? In recent years excavations have found that the T-Rex most likely hunted in groups, so bumping into one means the others are close by. I just can't believe no one ever pointed out this misconception: The USA officially uses the Metric system. They have pledged to use this system 3 times already. Moreover, they are the international guardians of the units of measurement that hold the whole metric system together. Still if you ask most citizens of the United States they still believe that their official measurement system is the imperial one...which comes from Britain, which they fought with fervor to gain their independence of the crown. But after they won i guess they kinda liked some of the imperial stuff.

6:31 American football was invented in the USA. The first game was played in New Jersey by Rutgers University and Princeton University in 1869. There are other versions of football that came before it, but American Football was made (or evolved) in America. It is called American Football for a reason.

It's still perfectly normal for patients to remain fully awake during brain surgery. The surgeon and their team uses various stimuli to monitor changes in cognition, and they rely on the patients responses to navigate through the procedure. It may seem ghoulish, but it's completely necessary for a successful procedure.

How do you not know how cashew nuts are grown? I used to pick those as a kid. Some fruits taste like bitter garbage but the nuts are what we used to take home to roast. Oh the nostalgia~

Those cashew fruits smell horrible, i had a tree grown in my moms garden and we would harvest it to eat the meaty part and never the seed. Its Fleshy texture is very soft and very biter but sometimes very sweet but the smell horrid regardless.

When I was growing up I always ate those cashew "fruits" and I think that's why I gained an immunity to poison ivy and the reason I have permanent partial chicken like skin only on the top of both my arms and somewhat my shoulders...

😃 It would be nice if they would include more/all of the facts, too. There are also some popular figs cultivars that do _NOT_ need wasps for fertilization. In fact, the specialised wasps do NOT live in a lot of places where figs are grown!

And, did you know that T-Rex was covered in feathers? It's true. Also, chickens are modern day dinosaurs. Grrrr! Back in the early 1970's my dad, on his way home from a trip to Ireland, had a mishap on the plane. LOL, he had a bottle of Irish hooch called pocheen, probably spelled wrong, in his pocket. At 35,000 feet it blew up, soiled his coat pocket and stunk to high heaven. Almost no one suspected him.

Actually the trex probably wasn't feathered paleontologists found trex skin imprints and they had scales. The most accurate trex reconstruction also has scales. Feathered trex is outdated

The info about the fig wasp is correct but the images accompanying it was not. Fig wasps are tiny & can't sting. What is a "stinger" in those large, nest building wasps, is an ovipositor in the fig wasp, an egg layer.

I am able to bring my own bottled water on the plane. I own a K8 Kangen machine( I'm also a distributor). This is an approved medical device. Therefore, the water that is produced is considered a medical grade water. Kangen, is a restructured, hydrogenated, alkalized living water.
