What I find so astounding is that there has to be a video about this because people haven’t a clue on how to behave anymore. It’s crazy that in this day and age, grown-ups have to be told What is and what is not appropriate, especially when they should have learned this as a child. It’s a matter of respect… Respect for yourself, and respect for others.

People seem to get worse with age.. I work in elderly care.. The elderly who were parents esp stay at home mom's and men who drank a lot are the worst, of thinking they are ALWAYS right, refuse to cooperate & expect a personal butler.. The behaviour I've seen from seemingly sweet granny's is shocking.. they seem to reverse into being more like children stubborn about all the wrong things, selfish & egocentrical.. A recent incident, a client living at the omg care facility who loves to scream "shut up you b****" and other nice things to bipolar people in the mids of a psychosis. And she has tried to tamper with chairs etc so others will fall.. she sits in her room calling 911 and demands someone to come & make her bed the 6th time that day bcs she has torn it of & staff refuse to play along her sociopathic BS.. The negatives only get worse, if it's an abusive ass at 40, they will be the same but 100x worse at 75....

Bless your heart Miss Wendy. You clearly were raised in a good home and have good parents. It is absolutely disgusting to see how the newest generation has been allowed to act any way they want. It started when the Government stepped in and started teaching that any correction of children was bad for them. They were told that to stop a child is abuse...nope...correction is NOT abuse.

In my time when Pan Am was still in service, flying was considered a luxury and people boarded the planes with best of behaviors and gratitudes especially wearing formal or semi formal outfits. Back in 1992, some friends and I were flying from London Heathrow to Gutersloh in Germany. When the check-in lady asked one of the guys "are you carrying anything in your luggage for anyone else?" my mate replied, "no all that cocaine is my own". She had a major sense of humour failure and within minutes we were surrounded by armed police officers and a plain clothes detective. They messed us around for 30 minutes or so but after apologising profusely we were allowed to board the flight. Never again.

A nut passenger on my flight refused to allow security to search her bag after being flagged by the x-ray machine at the gate and remarked "not as if a B**B is in my bag". Oh boy, it was both an exciting scene to watch and terrifying for us as everyone was rechecked and padded down again under the watchful eyes of armed personnel. Thereafter, the lady and boyfriend (understandably feeling extremely unhappy and disgraced) had a terrible argument and both were denied boarding the plane for being highly "dangerous" passengers.

With regards to the first story, I would also have refused Saypinar. And, if I was the gate agent and a man showed up with shorts that small, I would have cracked down on him even harder. I'm usually pretty forgiving with what I let passegers wear, especially if there are quick fixes to cover up a little, but sometimes, there's nothing you can do. I have refused passengers on account of things such as excessive filth/body odour in their clothes as well. People are trapped with each other for hours on an aircraft. I won't subject the other 100 passengers to one person's poor conduct.

The water tanks are cleaned regularly, and all the water used on a plane is filtered. My aunt was a flight attendant for 37 years. The major airlines keep up with that stuff. Idk about all the smaller and independent airlines. Also, clapping when a plane lands is like a thank you to the pilots for landing safely! It’s mostly a relief clap. The most dangerous parts of flying are take off and landing. So clapping is like, “thank god we landed safely!”

Clapping on landing typically occurs when there has been extreme turbulence or an otherwise difficult flight. If people clapping bothers you, just ignore it and don't participate. Exactly. And even if there are no bad turbulence or issues during the flight, I'd still clap because it's simply a sign of respect towards something as difficult as flying. After all the most dangerous parts during flight is taking off and landing. Even if absolutely nothing happened, I think that especially deserves clapping. You can't compare flying a plane with someone bringing you food in a restaurant. I really felt that comment wasn't very nice. Simplifying flying like that....

5:15 In fact, there was an explanation for those strange noises. You can prolly look it up on KZbin. There are sound filters in the PA system, made to focus on human voice, like, when the captain wants to make PA and it's noisy (as it may be). Now, such a system could also 'hear' human voices in random noise under the right circumstances (the right type of noise, and the right setting), so the investigation turned up that as the likely culprit.

That thing about getting up and walking around is no joke. He doesn't explain it properly, at least not according to medical experts that have discussed this. The big danger is getting a clot in your leg and then, when your circulation returns (usually after leaving the airplane) that clot can travel through your veins and cause a stoppage in your heart, your lungs or your brain. Then? You're dead. So, about every 2-3 hours, get up and walk around the plane for a bit; maybe do two or three walks up and down the aisle. Really. It's important.

23:22 Wow, the whole time I've been contemplating situations of doing so, like When Magoo Flew, now I see it's impossible for one person to wrench such a thing open in high altitudes. I've also seen a case in the Batman series where a woman who accidentally got afflicted with that Man-Bat mutigen turned into that leathery winged hybrid in the middle of a flight, then shoulder checked her way out the door and flew away. Soon after the cabin pressure greatly dropped. And Batman soon arrived on the scene and fixed the issue via closing the door and adding some welding to secure it before going after her.

As a pilot I can tell you straight up that phone signals do NOT interfere with aircraft instruments, navigation systems, or communication systems The radio frequencies used for communication and navigation are so different to the signals used by mobile phones that the laws of physics prevent them from interfering, OLD phones that ran on the old 2G network could cause some buzzing in the pilots headset, but modern phones don't do that as they run at different frequencies, and use different encoding methods (that's why you used to hear that buzzing pattern on your car radio a couple of seconds before your Nokia 3310 would start ringing, but you don't hear that on your new Samsung S23 or iPhone 14) That plane did not lose its instruments because of a phone, there's so much EMF shielding in the computers and wiring in an aircraft that you would need an EMP generator to cause any noticable interference Not only that, but don't you think that the hundreds of phones in the aircraft during boarding would cause issues before everyone turns them off? If 500+ devices with a 4G transmitter don't cause problems, then a few phones held up to the window to try and get signal are not going to do jack shit I've even brought 4G dongles on planes and blu-tacked it to the window so I could get internet access instead of paying the extortionate prices for inflight WiFi Not only that, but inflight WiFi would be far more likely to cause issues as 2.4ghz is the same frequency that a microwave oven uses to cook food (and fry electronics) So if 500+ WiFi devices all transmitting at the same time doesn't cause problems, then mobile phones sure as hell won't

9:34 This is a myth. Water stored onboard for tea/coffee etc is checked regularly by law and is frequently emptied and refilled. Water for waste disposal is kept separate from potable water. 12:52 Fresh air is always circulated onboard via the by-pass system of the engines called 'bleed air' that supply the aircon packs. As such, fresh air is continually supplied to both the passengers and heated cargo areas. The air is probably better than being is some restaurants/hotels/venues/shopping malls/cinemas. Modern aircraft also keep the humidity high to combat the dry air. 20:30 No, the reason is due to the possibility of CAT, clear air turbulence, that cannot be picked up by the weather radar. Pilots are more likely to reduce airspeed via throttles rather than the 'speed-brakes'. less wear and tear on the engines. 23:29 Most airliners use a 'plug' type door . You can't open any of those doors soon after takeoff and landing as the air-pressure outside hold the door firmly in place. You could have 20 people all trying to open a door and it will never work except due to mechanical faults like latches/pin failures. The more you learn the less you fear.
@eclectichoosier5474
@eclectichoosier5474 Жыл бұрын
A&P mechanic, here, to expand a bit on this: I've serviced those water tanks. They are drained and sanitized regularly, and the potable water lines purged. They are cleaner than your city's water mains. I've worked on the air systems. Fresh air comes in from the engines (before the combustion stage!) and fed into the environmental systems. It isn't recirculated. Pressure in the cabin is regulated by the rate that the "used" air gets dumped overboard. Given the extreme pressures and temperatures involved in the process, the incoming air is just about guaranteed to be completely sterile.

the cellphone "airplane mode" is not due to instrument failures. If 200-300 people fly on a plane and use the cell signal they would freak out every antenna they pass and the phone system would most likely go nuts for a bit and possibly crash. 300 devices would change antenna every minute to 30 second while flying over countries and borders. The phone system isnt tuned and made to handle the load and switch antennas every 30 sec - 1 minute, the more devices that do it at the same time the more load and the more issues. The more you know.

I’m a truck driver, I sit for about 8 hours straight unless I have to get fuel and food or if I’m lucky both at the same time depending upon the time of day before I finish my remaining 11 hours of driving constantly sitting. Yes I may be moving my head around and taking bumps on the road the size of speed bumps or worse because no one takes care of these roads but I like to debunk your 4 hour theory about sitting for that long causes those issues. Truck drivers even used to sit for hours upon hours back in the day before electronic logs became a thing, unless they stop for fuel and food, hell you get both at the same time and if you have the energy for it which a lot of drivers did, they’d drive a good 14+ hours straight just sitting but never had those health problems. I know they haven’t because I know many veteran drivers that are healthy and done it. So I debunk your theory on that 4 hour sitting issue. I agree that if your able to you should get up and let the blood flow but you’d have to be sitting for probably 24+ hours before having issues like that unless you sat down in a terrible position that’s already causing the pins and needles. Last week I took a 10+ hour flight from Taipei to SFO. There was some light to moderate turbulence during most of the flight, and the seatbelt light was never turned off. Even if I could go that long without visiting the lavatory (which I can't), how do I deal with the 4-hour leg thrombosis without standing up?

The "airplane" mode on devices during liftoff is BS. if planes were so sensitive to such signals, they wouldn't be able to land anywhere near new york... or any other big city. The real reason is so EVERYONE listen and watch during the emergency procedure explanation. it serves 2 purposes : 1) if someone does not do it, some other people might see and decide to do the same, maybe thinking too much about "not being caught right now" instead of listening, or just keep watching their lolcats on the interwebz. The "No exception" is there for that reason. 2) By asking them (passengers) to do something, you actively make them part of the "flight prep" and they become more receptive. "Involvement". Kinda like when you ask a woman to "hold the door", you're either get cut after the 1st word with a sharp "I have a boyfriend !!!", unless she sees you with a huge box and realize the normal thing to do is to hold the door to let you in, as any civilized person would do. Before they start getting used to bad habits and develop a shitty behavior, you immediately try to CUT the possibility of them going the "bad" way, and offer some incentive (here, the "I belong"/"I'm a good passenger" dopamine) for them to go on the good way. It's win-win for everyone, it detects Karens before its too late to force them out of the plane, people are more attentive during safety/emergency procedure speech, and it could, POSSIBLY, make less radio-disturbances that tend to upset the magic invisible air elves that allow us to fly in giant hunks of metal...

Growing up, included in the school curriculum from first grade to 6th grade was GMRC "Good Manners & Right Conduct". Nowadays children doesn't have that in school anymore...as a result you see too many people running around with no basic manners. Sad state of humanity when the very basic decency is gone!

No. There is no time to teach manners or other time honored values. Schools have to teach "valuing diversity" Critical Race Theory and other nonsense.

@@averyrivera5275 Glasses are perfectly fine. They don't cover the eye with direct contact and cause extra dryness or contraction of the lense.
