Most people are aware of the Charing Cross Exclusion Zone, but few people understand why its in place - plenty of theories exist but what is the truth behind this restriction and why is it in place??

Never even thought about it I just accepted the licence conditions as stated. Charing Cross isn't the only exclusion zone.

How can it be PMR when its on 446 ???
@richardfaulkner3803 Жыл бұрын
Pmr446 is on 446. Pmr proper is on many frequencies including vhf and uhf. Used long before srbr and subsequently pmr446.

I think you will find that there was network of Storno 9000 base-stations across London with their inputs on 431MHz and outpuits on 448MHz and which used RACAL CougarNet crypto modules and served hand-portable users. You would have to guess the user agency.

@@Oldwolf63 Not so much. POCSAG High Band starts at 435 MHz and the lowest UHF pager band allocated is around 454 MHz. the 431-432 restriction was not due to pagers...

Fell asleep after about a minute of that boring monotone.

The videos are presented in a slower mono tonal voice to give none native speakers an easier time to translate/understand the video but thanks for the feedback.

@@RadioOddities The KZbin app I am using allows you to alter playback speed, and it is easy to move back and forth. perhaps a slightly slow pace narration, with intonation, would be easier on the ears AND still allow non-English speakers to use auto-translate, brain translation, or speech to text software. I am an amateur and often QSO foreign stations in their language or English with no difficulty, using these methods. Although spelling names etc in subtitles can be used in videos where it might not be clear from speech.
