If the rumour is true that Norwich have put a not for sale sign on Idah I think we move on immediately and check back later. If he doesn't get the games at Norwich he will be available in January and we would be in an excellent position to sign him at that point and add some real competition for places. Until then, a focal point type striker good enough to start or win games from the bench like big chucky idah is a priority, 1 behind goalkeeper and left back.

Berkovic was only on those wages because we took him from EPL. If we sign him pre West Ham, it be at a fraction of the wage but the risk is even greater, a 'project' if you like. Same with Duffy. Not saying it right or wrong but if we fish in that pond, the salaries are sky high.

Palma contributed well in first half of season at a time when team was very inconsistent overall. He can be frustrating but has talent. Defo would not write off yet. Perhaps not a starter.

On the basis of ''better the devils you know' I'd sign both Idah and Bernardo. We could spend £12m on a single player who could turn out to be a flop. The player is more important than the money spent. Both players are keen to play for us and are ripe for a Rodgers improvement, imv.

A do think idah & bernardo would be good signings but not at the prices being banded about idah £ 4millon 5 at a push and bernardo £3 to 4 million maximum we know idah has a goal in him but has improvements to make & bernardo hasn't proved himself yet he is more of a risk to take but could be a grate signing with more game time that goes for both but on the other hand they could both be no more than squad players we need more proven players for the league and champions league .

Honestly, I want a recruitment dept working so well that we could maybe get more from £12m. I’d like to see Oh get another wee run and make a step up now he’s been in the country a while, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Would save us a few quid in that dept. The question is who cut it from the transfer window? I ask, who got a good solid chance to cut it? Some did get a chance. Some didn’t. IMO. My recruitment priority is to reduce the volume of wasted cash, be it through bad recruitment or good players not given a decent shot. The constant waste is ridiculous.

celtic are in talks with Benfica over Bernaldo, they wont pay over the odds of 6 millions pounds, they are willing to pay between 2.5 mllion and 3 million max, which is okay for a squad player to developed hopefully into the first team on a far more regular basis

No offence mate,but how is it achievable when u haven't seen who we're playing? And on the form of last seasons CL? IMO this current squad would even do well in the Conference Cup let alone the CL. And to be honest,after all the hoohaa about bringing in quality in January, I'm not optimistic about what we buy in this window. No doubt BR will give us the usual talk about strengthening the squad,mass clear out ect ect. But a pound to a penny we end up with most of that squad with a few projects thrown in.

For the limited game time he’s had, he’s always came up trumps in the big games. Still raw but having just turned 22, he will clearly turn in to a great player if coached properly.
