Part 2 is getting really interesting, to the point where i want to stop reading weekly so i can just get the whole story all at once when its over. theres so much happening with the themes and characters that it can be hard to keep track of

Part 2 is far from falling off, the change from part 1 to part 2 is definitely needed, from reasons like the storytelling to the reader's fatigue. It went from a story about Chainsaw Man in part 1 to a story in part 2 about the mess up teenager we are only formally introduced to at the end of part 1. It definitely need to be re-read over and over to see how plot points links from one to another which is a disadvantage all weekly/monthly releases share. TBH I have been enjoying the story about Denji messing his life even more and more from trying mend it than the high pace high stake arcs from part 1.

Part two has been an absolute roller coaster. I had the luxury of reading part one after it finished so I didn't have to wait a week in between chapters and I could get the whole story in one go so anytime the story threw me a twist I could keep reading and I'd get the catharsis of what happens next. Reading Part two weekly leaves me stunned constantly and thinking to myself all week "What can possibly happen next?" I'm constantly noticing all the insane plot hooks that are being placed and waiting for them to all be pulled simultaneously.

Very good. Subscribed. In contrast to what another commenter said, Fujimoto is taking a great risk, and all of part 2 is that risk. To put it simply...he decided not to write a shonen for part 2. No quick payoffs, expected power leap frogging or bite sized emotional catharsis that part one masterfully provided better than any shonen. This one was for people that invest and think...and that's risky as the shonen audience demands instant gratification and will read 'bachi or JJK to get it. For adults however, and people that do want to think, part 2 is pretty refreshing. The children that can't handle that will walk, and I appreciate Fujimoto willing to lose them to tell the story the way he wants to tell it.

here is one who don't read Kagurabachi. Kagurabachi is not what you describe. If you think people is interested or read kagurabachi because the MC is cool and badass, you're off the mark. And do you know why the most recent chapter JJK chapter is beloved by all?

@user-wj2ov8kq1o I read it and love it. Why do you assume because I said that people will read 'bachi or JJK for instant gratification...means I dont like it or think it's bad? You made that up in your own head because you assumed it. The recent arc with the Raikazuchi was astounding and had a heartbreaking ending. My point was that it's a different type of story, not a shonen story, so it's told slowly and given a lot of trails to follow. "Different" isn't necessarily better, but judging it requires a little more time and care. You over react because you're being a fan boy. There's no point to that. Read my words carefully

Part 1 was a masterpiece however Chainsaw man is still my favourite current running manga. I think the bar was just set insanely high with part 1. Part 2 is still really good though and is getting more interesting chapter by chapter

I like what you say about part 2 having a better foundation for the craziness thanks to these slow moments. My main critique of part 1 is that it doesn't have enough calm moments for the reader to invest themselves properly in the relationship of the main trio. It does, of course, but I wish it was a built up a little more, because most of the moments happen right in the middle of the action, and the plot never slows down to let us process the characters' relationships till it's too late

I absolutely loved part one for many reasons. I think my favorite chapter or at least one of the highest points of the story for me would be like chapter 75. This is where we finally get to see the gun devil which had been introduced at the very start and it was almost sidelined for a good portion of the story until it was finally introduced. It felt great to have the payoff for a plotpoint which had been dangling in front of you since the very start. Same think with Makima finally revealing her true intentions. I feel like this is exactly what part two is doing. Early on it introduced the plotpoint of Yoru vs Chainsawman only to semi let it be sidelined for slow chapters which do wonders in building the characters. Asa is loved and seen as relatable because Fujimoto let his story slow down and focus more time on not only fleshing his characters out but also the deeper themes of the story. Its great and for the people who want part one type action then it definitely feels like we are very close to getting major payoff for some important plotpoints

I wouldn't say chainsaw man or Fujimoto fell off. I loved chapter 98 a lot but I never got the same feeling of excited after it like I did with chapter 1 and part 1. Maybe it's from me not caring about the support characters as much or not really finding interest in Asa after chapter 98. And I don't mind Denji struggling with the side of himself that gets manipulated or making poor choices but he surely should have realized something was up with Asa or not be surprised Asa was devil hunting on tv by the conclusion of the falling arc when she(Yoru) showed up with a Yuko leg show(which I still wonder where it is and should have made a decently powered sword for Asa) and repeatedly yelled out "chainsaw man", the whole aquarium where she tells him to his face that she wanted to use him and then turning the whole aquarium into a spear(which he ignored cause of a penguin) and her saying "Denji spinal cord sword", and lastly Denji thinking he made the chainsaw motorcycle when Asa was literally yelling out the transformation right behind his head. I understand that Denji isn't all that smart and is crazy but it felt like up to falling devil arc that Fujimoto dumbed down Denji. I think by chapter 167(and now 173) it's perfect to judge the art. It's solid except for chapter 152 in my opinion which was just sloppy. I'm not a art critic so I can't exactly put my finger on it for that one chapter but I can clearly tell Fujimoto forgot which whip devil foot foot chainsaw man chopped off, top panel of page 13 it's the left then on the bottom panel on the same page it's now just the right. Hell in part 2 just being a white void with a few door and later a black void felt pretty disappointing compared to part 1 hell which had a infinite sky of doors and a actual ground for the characters to stand on. Felt like one of those liminal spaces back in part 1. I like aspects of part 2, I think Barem was a much needed villainous force in Denji's life and in part 2, falling devil herself was cool, seeing how Nayuta grew as a character(even if it was a flash back) and chapter 155 as whole was amazing, the new devil design in chapter 173 looked cool, I liked seeing Denji struggle with designing on what he wants out of his own life and what he thinks would make him happy, katana man returning and getting a small bit of payback on Denji with Yoru's help was fun, etc. I think the problem for some people the issue is the switches between bi weekly and weekly chapter releases which seems to make some people feel that the pace of part 2 is slower than what it actually is. Personally I don't mind and I'm happy thinking Fujimoto is taking care of himself/not burning himself out. p.s. I miss reze

iIenjoyed part 2 at the beginning Asa and Yoru have been my favorite thing about part 2. but over time its just become torture the main characters. Denji Asa/Yoru and Nayuta are really the only characters every one else is just kinda there to torture them and move the story along. it annoyed me at times but i was okay with it until chapter 170. it shits so bad over the ending of part one and the development of the characters in part 2 that i just dont care any more. im just here to see what happens to denji and asa at this point. honestly i dont care if they kill every one else.

Part 1 was basically shounen but with lit bit of Fujimotos touch Just like Vinland saga s1 full action packed But part 2 is more like seinen and Fujimotos real style and just like Vinland s2 its slow and more on characters and world building than action and its getting the similar hate But i love seinen more than shounen so for me part 2 is far better its letting the characters breath, doesn't kills them off without letting readers to get to know them that well and the story is far more interesting and complex here there's a lot of themes going on so its basically ppl dont understand as its not that easy threres a tons of unanswered questions like who was that Chainsaw man etc

Reminder that Seinen and Shonen dont mean how a specific story will play out, just indicates the public which is aimed at. K-on and Bocchi the Rock are seinen while Fire Punch is a shonen.

To me part 2 is super interesting in both themes and art style. However, while i like Asa and Denji' s plot in this part, i feel like there are many secondary plots and characters left behind. Thats why i think part 2 is not aa great as part 1, at least by now. It is still an interesting story and im still wondering whats next, so... lets just give Fujimoto the time he needs and then we will judge the whole plot

The reason it fell off is cause the actual talent behind part 1 is writing Dandadan instead of "assisting" on part 2. People will cope saying it didn't fall off or search for other reasons however it's obvious to anyone who is current on both series.

Part 1 was a masterpiece. But ever since Makima died it fell off hard. Fujimoto doesn't take risk, he just kill off too many interesting characters in part 1 instead of further exploring them like what One Piece and Attack on Titan did. It's so obvious that there's no direction in part 2 because he's running out of ideas. Fujimoto style is just not suited with long running manga.

Honestly I get this opinion, I think if Nayuta kept some of makima’s memories or unlocked them throughout the story it would keep makimas presence alive while keeping the impact of her death by having Nayuta act opposite to the memories she would still have.

I think it’s obvious that there’s direction, but he’s doing a really good job concealing what that direction is. There is forshadowing everywhere and it’s clear that there’s an ultimate goal fami, public safety, and Barem have. But we just don’t have all the pieces to the puzzle yet

@@TheColonel2112 that would have been the type of story telling that a common person would have followed, Fujimoto likes to skip bits that the average person could have imagined, he's unpredictable and also follows as process of imagining how he could tell a story in less panels than the normal mangaka would normally use (admitted by himself in interviews)
