True he had a really good game but it's also a learning experience only he and the coaching staff know what happened. He had some opportunities to score some tds and didn't, gain some yards with his legs and didn't, even with that though the mistakes from the oline the fumble the muffed punt and wilks playing soft defense on that final drive in ot had a bigger impact on that game they anything he didn't do. They all could've been better and they have been all year for the most part which was the most frustrating part of that game.

@muzaaaaak Exactly. I understand people are bummed and i am too, it sucks to come that close and not win the SB... but honestly? That's the first SB we've lost that I did not feel particularly shaken after. We're just getting this thing going. Purdy's entering his 2nd full season, 1st with a full training camp. Our window is open as long as this kid can take us. I've seen all our QBs since Young. And I think that's gonna be a long way.........

@@Rykbell experience? development? Brock's ability to read defenses should get better with time by watching film and seeing it in-game. If Purdy has a dogshit season then the Niners could potentially look elsewhere but the dude is 24 and people are putting a skill ceiling on him already
@Rykbell
@Rykbell 3 ай бұрын
@@jomiejomie I guess what I'm suggesting is Purdy seems to be the opposite of my QBs in their first two years. Normally, young QBs have all the talent in the world, and the processing and decision making are where they mostly develop. Brock is the opposite. He is limited physically compared to most, but he seems to have figured out the reading of defenses and decion making light years faster than most. I just don't see his arm getting stronger, so I feel like his potential to get better is very much capped compared to other young QBs.

Yeah, people always seem to talk about him like he isn't young and is already a finished product.. He was doing those runs in College and last Season as well tbf but to do it in the Playoffs during crunch time is another entire thing. He still has a bunch of untapped potential as he sees more defenses and gets used to Kyle's system more as well.. We haven't come close to seeing the best of Purdy yet.. People love to talk about the Weapons he has but you rarely hear about how he was the only elite level QB to have the success he did with a below average passing oline. That's what the 49ers need to work on this off season and Draft especially with Trent close to retirement.

Spags was sincerely complimentary to/about Purdy because he knows that Homes did not out play Purdy. Shan, Wilks and Purdy's paltry OLine handed the SB game to KC. I'd take Belichick over Shan in a heartbeat. Wilks took Saheh and Ryans' Top 3 Defense, and reduced our D to 12th ranked. ''Defenses win championships''. While Purdy was up against a #2 ranked D. Also, Homes' OLine is a Top 5 (and the Refs allow KC OLine to hold 75+% of pass plays (the film doesn't lie), while Purdy's OLine is ranked a bottom feeder 29th for pass ''protection''/time to execute). Spags knows full well that SF OLine, Wilks and Shan handed the Ring to KC, not Homes. SF would not have had to go into overtime IF the OLine had done their job and not allowed the blocked FG; SF would have won by 1 PT with no OT. Wilks would not have been fired without his poor playcalling/schemes in all the playoff games and SB. Bosa said it best in a recent presser when questioned about Wilks' playcalling (the two play off games before SB). '' He 9Wilks) is still figuring it all out''. Ugh, lol.

The difference between the Patriots Superbowl dynasty and the Chiefs beginning theirs: The arrogance is not there to the same extent. The Chiefs have the kind of winning culture that has levels of modesty and goodness to it we rarely see today. People can hate the Chiefs just because they win but the whole organization is a class act reflecting good Midwest American values. There is a lot to still learn from them day to day and we would do well to adopt some of their kind and good principles of success into our lives and work environments.

All the Brock doubters have also been complementing him at the same time. How? Because they’ve all said he’s not at the same level as these more seasoned QBs who have years of experience without ever mentioning he’s not even started for two years. And they don’t compare him to the tier one guys in their first year, but where they are now. That’s respect even if they don’t know it.

Cool compliment from Spags but let's be real, its really easy to compliment someone after you win.

I think Brock Purdy should have been league MVP, what other QB has gone to 2 championship games and a Super Bowl in their first 2yrs. P.S. I'm a Chiefs fan

It's football 101, you run to set up the pass.

He probably told Brock, to look for another team. One that sends bigger Christmas checks to the east-coast media, one that can afford an open door to the league office and one with a fan-base, ready to throw him (like every other 49er QB) under the bus, with every incompletion.

Spags probably wants to be the next head coach. Maybe trade Kyle really add draft capital and really take this team to the next level.!!! Quest for six still needed

Pretty amazing how the Chiefs manage to hang onto Spags as a DC. Imagine if we never lost Salah or Demeco

It’s because he’s white. Teams want minority coaches.

That is one of the problems right there. They keep losing DC.

It takes a lot to go as to Steve to complement Brock. I use the example of customer service. If you mess up 8 out of 10 will comment. But if you give great service only 2 out of 10 will send feedback. Thus QB1 is Brock until he proves he doesn’t deserve it. He can only get better. All the nay sayers can just continue their idle talk. I believe in Brock more than most of the previous QBs we have had since Steve Young. Forget when he was drafted. Think of how many stars have come out that weren’t drafted.

This is why I don't respect a lot of talking heads. They have no clue, or just say stuff to have people listen to them. They don't put in the work to do their job right. Others, like Cam just needs to have clicks to be in the spot light again.

I suppose the real question is when he comes up to be resigned, how much can you afford to give up to afford him? We've seen how much harder things can be for quarterbacks when they take max money. The defense already had a sketchy post season at times, and people were getting through the pass protection a little more than you would like. To make matters worse, even if it isn't the chiefs on the other side, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen are waiting to take the spot, and after them, its Cj Stroud, Justin Herbert, Tua, and maybe Trevor Lawrence might show up one day. There is no reason to think he will get a better shot than this one. On the other hand, that is the problem that faces everyone, and is there a better option available?

He called him and said he wants to come to San Francisco to help Kyle Shanahan coach Brock Purdy and maybe take the Defensive coordinator job.

Think about this? This is going to be Purdy's first healthy off-season as the starter. He's going to be even better. The future is bright.
