True he had a really good game but it's also a learning experience only he and the coaching staff know what happened. He had some opportunities to score some tds and didn't, gain some yards with his legs and didn't, even with that though the mistakes from the oline the fumble the muffed punt and wilks playing soft defense on that final drive in ot had a bigger impact on that game they anything he didn't do. @@Rykbell experience? development? Brock's ability to read defenses should get better with time by watching film and seeing it in-game. If Purdy has a dogshit season then the Niners could potentially look elsewhere but the dude is 24 and people are putting a skill ceiling on him already

@@jomiejomie I guess what I'm suggesting is Purdy seems to be the opposite of my QBs in their first two years. Normally, young QBs have all the talent in the world, and the processing and decision making are where they mostly develop. Brock is the opposite. He is limited physically compared to most, but he seems to have figured out the reading of defenses and decion making light years faster than most. He still has a bunch of untapped potential as he sees more defenses and gets used to Kyle's system more as well.. We haven't come close to seeing the best of Purdy yet.. People love to talk about the Weapons he has but you rarely hear about how he was the only elite level QB to have the success he did with a below average passing oline. Spags was sincerely complimentary to/about Purdy because he knows that Homes did not out play Purdy. Shan, Wilks and Purdy's paltry OLine handed the SB game to KC. I'd take Belichick over Shan in a heartbeat. Wilks took Saheh and Ryans' Top 3 Defense, and reduced our D to 12th ranked. ''Defenses win championships''. While Purdy was up against a #2 ranked D. Also, Homes' OLine is a Top 5 (and the Refs allow KC OLine to hold 75+% of pass plays (the film doesn't lie), while Purdy's OLine is ranked a bottom feeder 29th for pass ''protection''/time to execute). Spags knows full well that SF OLine, Wilks and Shan handed the Ring to KC, not Homes. SF would not have had to go into overtime IF the OLine had done their job and not allowed the blocked FG; SF would have won by 1 PT with no OT. Wilks would not have been fired without his poor playcalling/schemes in all the playoff games and SB. Bosa said it best in a recent presser when questioned about Wilks' playcalling (the two play off games before SB). '' He 9Wilks) is still figuring it all out''. Ugh, lol.

I suppose the real question is when he comes up to be resigned, how much can you afford to give up to afford him? We've seen how much harder things can be for quarterbacks when they take max money. The defense already had a sketchy post season at times, and people were getting through the pass protection a little more than you would like. To make matters worse, even if it isn't the chiefs on the other side, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen are waiting to take the spot, and after them, its Cj Stroud, Justin Herbert, Tua, and maybe Trevor Lawrence might show up one day. There is no reason to think he will get a better shot than this one. On the other hand, that is the problem that faces everyone, and is there a better option available?
