We experienced the peak of our era, and now it is gone. Recession is tanking everything including 401K. My retirement equities portfolio of $750K is in the reds. I keep losing because of inflation. This world will fall to the corrupt rulers in the same way that Rome did. I'm sorry if you're thinking about retiring and you're worried that your pension won't be enough to meet the rising cost of living. Horrible foreign policies everywhere, bad regulatory policy, bad fiscal policy, and bad energy policy.

@@nirbijaThe Chinese people are celebrating now because of the typhoon and flash floods. The entire nation is underwater, most of the houses are damaged, most of the cars, ebikes, home appliances and furniture are broken beyond repair, sinkholes everywhere, dams are destroyed , roads and bridges are ruined and unusable, crops and vegetation are wiped out, millions of chickens , pigs , and cattle have drowned , therefore cannot be sold . Now is the time to build new houses, repair some people's homes, buy new cars , trucks , and ebikes, buy new home appliances and furniture, repair dams, roads and bridges, fill the sinkholes, plant new crops and vegetation, raise more chickens, pigs, and cows. China will have to spend billions of dollars to recover from these man-made and natural disasters. This will contribute a lot to China's GDP. That's why all the Chinese people are celebrating

November 2019 when the very first covid outbreak in Wuhan , China.. you china haters would cynically call China a sick man of Asia., the yellow perils , China Viruses , China being cursed..!! And you China Haters even would feel pleased that the COVID could kill off many Chinese .!!! Wishing ill-will and misfortune on Chinese citizens just because they were born in a country you don’t like just enough demonstrating the dark and black in your heart. But God is JUST and FAIR !! The KARMA repercussions prevailed !! History repeats itself. Instead of expressing your sympathy, you China Haters again get excited to see China in deep shit due to the floods , landslides and loss of lives happening these days lately. Shall the Karma repercussions prevail again? Karma shall find its path and never be being late.

No doubt you picked up that ghoulish mindset from wasting away your low-life while hanging around with way too many european people. Please pay attention: Europeans ARE THE ONLY breed that revels in the ghoulish; hence, their endless wars around the planet, which brings endless death, endless suffering, and endless 'wealth' for their wicked war-profiteers. It is wiser to "deflate any bubbles" early before it gets out of control and eventually bursts. It is better to bear the short term pain for the long term gain.
@Intense_Cloud

But greed is one of the main drivers of it, and it can only be deflated by its own critical proportion, when it becomes ridiculously evident that such bubble cannot be sustained, then the collapse takes place, and usually that's too late. I think it requires of a well educated (on the topic) population too avoid from it to even become a bubble. I totally agree with your point.

Deflation is not an issue as long as your exports are significantly higher than imports. Moreover, If GDP & GNP is increasing and prices are decreasing, it seems like a situation where PPP is increasing. Deflation coupled with currency devaluation for import based economy is usually an indication of negative GDP (or recession). Who knows - maybe China is replacing US tech imports with local manufactured ones coupled with buying discounted oil and wheat relative to the international market is bringing prices down. It’s very complicated

Deflation is a big problem because it simply means the Chinese citizens are not consuming products China while it trades a lot, like most countries it is dependent on consumption of its internal market. It's the only market it has 100% control of . It also shows that citizens of china are pessimistic about their economy and want to reduce risk by paying off debts rather than consume.

Deflation effect is not universal. For export driven country, deflation actually help. Important observation in chinese data is deflation is not just on consumer side. It is also on producer price as well. It means it would be cheaper to produce in china now than earlier. Don't see chinese economy from the standard economic lens (which was developed for consumption driven economies such as US and India)

Bicycle and EV Graveyards in China . Zombie Cars . No place to place Bicycles (part 1) No place to place Millions of Bicycles in China. Bicycle sharing, known as one of China's "New Four Major Inventions" originated during a period of mass entrepreneurship and innovation. In May 2015, the first dockless shared bicycles were introduced on the campus of Peking University. The concept behind bicycle sharing, "Green Travel" and solving the "Last Mile" problem was widely welcomed. In just over two years, more than 70 shared bicycle companies had sprung up. Around 27 million shared bicycles had been deployed to major cities with distinct colors to differentiate the brands. Soon, shared bicycles began to overwhelm public spaces in cities. Originally the government was laissez-faire about the cluttered streets and even encouraged bicycle sharing. They did not realize the seriousness of the issue until September 2017 when the government started to limit the number of bicycles deployed and placing excess bicycles in temporary locations. Such hidden locations are hard to be found in cities and have earned the name "shared bicycle graveyard". Many shared bicycle companies have therefore closed down, leaving only a few companies still operating. Billions of Chinese Yuan of user deposits cannot be refunded, and shared bicycles costing tens of billions of Yuan are abandoned and become urban garbage. . Since January 2018, the photographer has traveled throughout the country to multiple cities that have been occupied by shared bicycles. He has visited more than 50 shared bicycle cemeteries, using aerial photography, local shooting, VR, video, audio and other multi-media methods to record this social wonder. On the morning of July 26, 2018, Sohu.com launched these photos and videos, which immediately triggered the crazy forwarding of Chinese and foreign medias. The number of hits on the Internet was hundreds of millions of people. Thousands of citizens posted comments on the Internet and it became a phenomenon level of propagation events. In a mess after the storm, people start to think about various deep-seated problems in the development model driven by China's current capital interests. It is not just the shared bicycles having no place to go, but also our obsession, our dreams of wealth and the hearts of each of us in the context of the times. . Fake sales and propped up Sales of EVs

Chinese EV cars are not coming because even Tesla cars have 90% of Chinese market . The One featured in This video is a joke bought by poor people in rural areas of China. Second reason … the Japanese EVs are also here . Chinese EVs are not cheaper than Japanese EVs , not even significantly cheaper than a Tesla … That's why 90% bought the Tesla. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet bought BYD , not for their cars but for their Battery technology. : BYD recalls their EVs for battery failures. . AND . Is China's EV Market Doomed? Foxconn Charges Into EVs, Buffett Unplugs BYD. Since last year, this figure has surged a staggering 1.06 million units. This, alone, is a wakeup call to the industry. Let's delve deeper and examine the case of the industry titan, BYD. In the grand panorama of 2022, they produced close to 1.8 million vehicles. However, the number of insured vehicles falls short at 1.58 million, quietly spelling out the fate of over 210,000 vehicles - accumulating dust in warehouses. If that doesn't raise eyebrows, consider this: in the first quarter of this year, BYD has reported an insured volume of 441,000 units. However, their production report from January to March shows nearly 548,000 units. This suggests an additional accumulation of more than 100,000 vehicles into the already bulging inventory

What is the correct term to describe the situation of declining prices on account of decreasing money supply? Shouldn’t it be “depression“? Remember the Great Depression of 1930s in the US? price change is only a side effect of inflation or deflation. inflation and deflation in simple terms is the growing and shrinking of money supply of which the consequences are rising and falling of consumer prices. the change in consumer price alone does not signal inflation or deflation. prices also go down when there is new competition from new technology. that is not deflation but according to your definition that would be considered deflation. if you look at china through the lens of money supply and not simply price change you will see that china's M2 and M3 money supply is GROWING not shrinking which would signal inflation not deflation. something else is causing the prices to go down and it's not deflation. also its important to point out that while overall cpi is slightly below 0, china's core cpi is positive.

A tinge of deflation works well. It shocks and matures the young who are used to the "high life" of plenty to appreciate that the sun doesn't shine every day. The Chinese are generally great savers. Cutting down on expensive imported goods and working lower-paid jobs will allow them to wait through the period positioning them to the coming economic growth.

Deflation is artificial, The government has full control on that, it's just a price correction or a kind of discounts for a short duration on various goods & services & also good for consumers & when the stimulus starts giving effects that short deflation will be corrected at previous level of normalcy, Whereas inflation has no control from the government, it's governed by the external causes & directly related to the deprivation of currency, consumers will have to face affordability issues on various goods and services & even worse for majority middle class which also means low consumption & liquidity problems for banks, to tackle this problem, government needs to spend huge chunk in market & public sector so external debt will also keep rising. It's very hard for all parties; consumers, government & GDP.

Fascist states have long relied upon their competitive advantage in attracting foreign investment. Authoritarian control of the labor force and national policymaking makes good business sense. Such was the case with Italy and Germany during the inter-war period and such is the case with China's dizzyingly rapid rise today. The ability of a totalitarian fascist state to control the labor force, suppress dissent and put investment over social welfare makes such states highly attractive to businesses. Such is the case today with China. Coca-Cola's CEO inadvertently demonstrated the fascist nature of the Chinese state when he lauded the "one-stop shop in terms of the Chinese foreign investment agency," wherein the federal and local Chinese government agencies are competing for investment, with their population paying the cost in terms of reduced labor rights and environmental protections. Chinese will often accept this as a necessary part of their national development, a development which seems increasingly to benefit only those with power and connections and to increasingly marginalize the common people. One need not look merely at the statements of business leaders, but much mainstream media attention has praised the "efficiency" of the Chinese fascist regime while deriding the clumsiness and inconvenience of states which remain nominal liberal democracies. The issue of Chinese fascism is one which the people of the world must pay much greater attention than they have to date. Too much emphasis is placed on the economic power of China without thought to the origins of this power and the long-term sociopolitical consequences it may have for the globe. The very effective media and information control mechanisms of the CCP, yet another indicator of a fascist state, exacerbates this issue. Only those such as myself, who operate in the education system and other front-line social roles, have the contact with life in China to see through the smoke and mirrors deployed by the government against any legitimate mainstream information-collection system, be it journalists or business people. Both of these groups are carefully watched and have their information pre-packaged, with stringent and well-documented efforts to prevent access to undesirable information and coercive measures to discourage its dissemination where it is found. Only those teachers, students and volunteers unimportant enough to go under the radar, such as myself, are able to get the real story and get it out without significant danger to ourselves. It is high time the world started paying attention to these stories below the gloss and sheen of state-sponsored and state-monitored mainstream media outlets which, for various reasons, are unable or unwilling to suffer the consequences of getting and reporting the truth about the Chinese state. If the Chinese fascist regime is permitted by the international community to continue its rise to prominence, then the consequences will be borne by the people of democratic nations and we have already seen the early stages of this global trend. A powerful fascist state of such maturity and size in the world will increasingly come to determine political debate in nominally democratic countries as the economic advantages of such a regime draws more and more financial resources away from less "efficient" political systems. If China continues to be able to use its fascist state apparatus to attract investment at the cost of liberal democratic nations, then the characteristics of these nations will tend toward increasing fascism in an imitative defensive response. This trend is already far advanced and if it remains unchecked by the active engagement and protest of constituent peoples in the form of actively entrenching our essential social and political norms of individual rights and egalitarian application of the rule of law, then we will witness the slow erosion of the democratic freedoms that were fought for nearly 70 years ago. It is no longer adequate to harp on about "human rights." The necessity of economically isolating regimes which fail to meet certain normative political and legal standards is of paramount importance to the long-term survival of the idea of pluralist government which protects a measure of individual freedom. Failure to do so will result in an inevitable process of socio-cultural decline which will prove hard to reverse in the short to medium term. Democracy is messy and individual freedoms are inconvenient for the operation of the socioeconomic system we use to organize the globe. That we recognize this does not logically lead to the conclusion that we should submit to the dilution of those freedoms out of a misplaced desire for expediency. The reason we pursued increasing market freedoms in the past 70 years was ostensibly to spread democratic and individual freedoms. If we now find that the means have come into conflict with the end, it is time to come back to the drawing board, lest in our pursuit of the material well-being that underpins a society which can afford educated, independent individual life, we end up creating the conditions for subsuming all individual freedom and development to fascist ideals of national power and undo all the achievements of 70 years of struggle and sacrifice.

@@lnsightsonlife Liberalism is a dead ideology and is corrosive to the fabric of society, in the name of the idol of individual freedom you slowly atomise society and destroy the Family creating the conditions for decline and decadence, the individual is not above the broad society. The absolute cult of Individualism (deification of the individual) is a Protestant invention of the Anglosphere and therefore not Universal (it isn-t even universal in the broad Christian world)

The implications of decline of economic factors, in a Communist Nation, do come with certain implications beyond GDP numbers. The potential for economic growth as the various Nations who have requested their presence in the BRICS Trad Group, appear to hold a lot of cards, Resource Wise? So as the BRICS Summit seems to notice Nations appear in South Africa, how will the world measure success as the largest portion of resources appears to be assembled in the BRICS Club? Those Nations who appear to favor the notion of a Gold Standard Currency, as well as the ability to ask for fair prices for their Resources, begins to produce inflation prospects in G-7 Nations, even more than they previously have? Since 2014 BRICS has been driving prices for commodities upward, the polite term for the effect is "Interrupted Suppl Chain" apparently?

What about India? Instead of making enemies with China, fostering better relations would be more beneficial for India's future. Without China, achieving the goal of a 5 trillion economy seems implausible for India. China, our neighboring second-largest economy and a developed country, contrasts with India which is still labeled as a third-world nation. Indians may not be on par to compete with the Chinese.
