When I was 25 I had a physical and the doctor told me my cholesterol was so high I'd be dead by 40 if I didn't treat it right away. Two years ago, I had a cat scan of my heart to see if the arteries had plaque buildup from the high and untreated cholesterol that I still had at age 47. The radiologist told me my arteries and heart were in excellent condition with no buildup of plaque. Just goes to show how much medicine doctors don't know.

The question is not how to keep your cholesterol low. The question is how to prevent lesions in the arteries.

This is a very important video. So many doctors are not up to speed on this. In fact, they still push back against eating large quantities of eggs. New research suggests eggs are very good and help increase the HDL.

Some good points but I tend to get cautious when trainers talk internal medicine. I would consult with your doctor first. However, these guys have some good content.

This is more nutrition than internal medicine... which the average doctor knows very little about

@@danielcalma2138 I get you’re coming from. All I am saying is to consult with your doctor when it comes to real health issues that would involve internal medicine. If you can’t find a doctor that understands what you’re asking, seek out another one.

My cholesterol hangs around 195-205 , I'm fine with that if 2 of the 3 markers are fine on a lipid test , ( LDL , TRIGLYCERIDES, AND HDL)

My question is than, what is it that causes heart disease? Is it saturated fat? You hint in the video that even saturated fat is not all bad. Thanks for your time and very curious!
@alfonso3653 жыл бұрын
High blood LDL levels cause heart disease... it's a causal factor. But it mostly rises due to excessive saturated fat consumption, not dietary cholesterol per se.

@@billywolf5958 By that rationale, smoking doesn't cause lung cancer.
@alfonso3653 жыл бұрын
@@billywolf5958 Causal factors have been proven to CAUSE an effect. That's why they have been determined to be CAUSAL. That's why people who have familiar hypercholesterolemia (the word Sal couldn't pronounce), genetically damned with high cholesterol levels, have higher rates of heart disease despite not having any other risk factors. The opposite is true for people who genetically have lower levels. Look it up.

@@coolslimm5105 I’ve had it high in the past. These results are from 1 week ago lol. I eat lots of shrimp crab legs and I eat out a lot. I drop it by eating clean home meals, drinking lots of water and going to the gym 3-5 times a week with 15-20 min cardio. Hope this helped.
