We are learning how to celebrate Hanukkah, because we found out that Dec 25th is actually the sun god's birthday. Another thing we also realized about Christmas was that Jesus wasn't born anywhere near December. It's been tough letting go of this pagan celebratory day due to all the warm, cozy and fun memories we have associated with it. Thank you for helping us understand that we still have something to celebrate and make memories around this time of year. ❤

I have prayed very much. Did Yeshua not go to the Feast of Dedication? Yes He did. And Why? Do you know that this festival is when He asserts His divinity and makes His claim He is one with the Father. If it were a sin to focus on this, Yeshua would have Never been found at the temple that day. Do you really think that The Living Word wouldn't pay any mind those who died fighting to keep the Ways of Yah alive when Greece tried to wipe them out? Do you think it is a coincidence that 2 months prior to this at Sukkot He makes the absolute correct claim that He is the Light of the world. Then He goes To the Festival of Dedication when they light a lamp stand making the equally correct claim of being one with The Father. I'm not driven by Jewish traditions only what the Master did. I don't keep Christmas for it is one of the MOST pagan feasts. Yeshua does NOT rebuke them or even mention that their festival is wrong. If it were, He would have spoken against their custom like He was known to do many times. I appreciate your warning. I have prayed for several years about this. I certainly haven't closed off my heart and am more than happy to be corrected, when the Holy Spirit leads. All this truth can be found in John 8 and 10

@@StrummaChick I understand you! I also celebrated Hannukah when YHWH opened my eyes to the evils of xmas! I was SO excited for Hannukah and taught it to my daughter. The first year was so much fun! I brought my daughter up on Hannukah but as the years went on I began to lose my peace about it. She was little and I talked to her about it and she was sad so I kept celebrating it but with no peace. Last year my daughter was 11 and I approached her with my lack of peace and we prayed about it. After praying and then researching she voluntarily threw out our Hannukiah. This year we did more research and praying and we both feel His peace in a way I can't describe! I personally wasn't looking to stop celebrating Hannukah! I was really excited about it! YHWH HIMSELF kept convicting me! You may want to watch Damien Powell Should You Celebrate Hannukah. His video is not why I stopped celebrating it but we found it a few days ago when we revisited this topic. I am telling you this from a deep place of love. Like I said, I personally wasn't even looking to stop celebrating Hannukah! YHWH HIMSELF wouldn't let me have any peace celebrating it! No one around me thought it was a problem, including me! I only stopped by His leading. Shalom and much love.

@@StrummaChick I used to celebrate Hannukah myself and I understand everything you have said! He opened my eyes without me even asking Him to. The Hannukiah is not scriptual. If you research this further as He led me to do the you will see this was supposed to be a second Sukkot because they dedicated the temple again and wanted to celebrate. This is not to be repeated again. There's also much evidence that this is a winter solstice. I was shocked at first hearing this, but He didn't let me have any peace celebrating this. There are several videos about this. He had us stop celebrating Hannukah a couple of years now. After returning to this topic this past week we watched Damien Powell Should You Celebrate Hannukah. I didn't stop celebrating Hannukah because of this video, however we just watched it and I highly recommend it. With deep understanding of what you are saying because I was there I send you Shalomn and ask that you watch the video I mentioned.

❤ God please continue to guide me through this hard time in my life. It’s been a tough three years. As a single mother I’m struggling. Struggling to buy groceries struggling to pay rent every month is a battle. Lord please protect and provide for my boys. Both of my sons are autistic but have made so much progress now that I’m homeschooling them but my hours to work are limited. Jesus heal me from my heart disease and my lupus. I will keep faith no matter my struggles. Faith over fear. ❤

Don't forget, Christianity is about Jesus Christ, His life, His death, His Resurrection. Hanukkah is about the victory of a war against the Greeks and regaining their Temple; an event. Jesus celebrated this event, the Festival of Lights, as being part of His Jewish culture. We must not confuse this.

The story of the revolt comes from 1 Maccabees, which is not in the bible. But still in the story it still does not say anything about the oil lasting 8 days.It only comes from Jewish traditions. The book of 1 Maccabees is in the Apocrypha. I agree we should know about the event. It's because of the Maccabees taking a stand for God. I would rather celebrate Hanukkah than Valentine's day or Halloween or other worldly holidays!

Both Christmas and Hannukah are manmade traditions, from an old testament mindset of keeping rituals and certain days. God wants worship in spirit and truth. We have to learn to think new, the old has become obsolete. Although there is freedom in Christ, there is no commandment to keep rituals. His commandment is to love one another. Like the apostle Paul explains, the rituals and ordinances were just shadows of better things to come. Spiritual realities we now dwell in in Christ. Christ in us, the hope of glory. It is all about growing to spiritual maturity under direct guidance of the Spirit.

Our religious holidays should be outlawed because they are given to us by the Catholic church, Christmas was the birthday of Tammuz who was dead in hell more than a thousand years before Jesus was born, Jesus was born on one of the 8 days of Sukkot. Tammuz was an enemy of God and so is the catholic church who worships Tammuz and his mother (SuMariMas) but make out like they are Jesus and his mother.

You do realize that the ultimate origin of Hanukah is a pagan winter solstice fire celebration, right? The Syrian birth of the sun-god at/near the Winter Solstice and the kindling of fire to drive away the longest night and bring in light, was observed in Judea, under Hellenizing influence, before the Maccabean era. After the Maccabean victory the Hasmoneans were believed to be the precursors of a new era, and therefore the Syrian festival was Judaized into a dedication celebration (Hanukkah) in reference to the rededication of the Temple. The old pagan fire festival in the lighting of a fire to drive away the longest night was retained, but now in the form of lighting the menorah. This is an example of an ancient pagan Winter Solstice celebration that was morphed into a Jewish holiday. Indeed there is a song sung at Hanukah in Israel (I don't believe it is known here) called "Banu Khoshekh L'Garesh" - "We came to drive away the darkness".

We are only supposed to celebrate what YHWH tells us in Leviticus 23. Abba Father convicted me and I had to repent for celebrating Hannukah. If you research it you will find out the pagan origins. I used to celebrate it until Abba Father opened my blind eyes. His instructions are clear that we are not supposed to add to or take away from His Word. He tells us what He wants us to celebrate in Leviticus 23. We are not to add to it.

@@wendyhall1449 You may want to watch Damien Powell, Should You Celebrate Hannukah. I too was deceived into believing that it is ok to celebrate Hannukah. The first year was fun! After the first year I began to lose peace about celebrating it. I have since been researching this and YHWH has been so faithful to show me many videos and articles about the lie concerning Hannukah. I had to repent for celebrating it. I too told people that Yeshua celebrated it. I have since repented of spreading this lie. I highly suggest that all believers seek YHWH about Hannukah and dig deeper into this deception. I actually didn't look into not celebrating it. I was so happy to learn about it and celebrate it! YHWH is The One that took my peace and brought me out of this deception. I wasn't even trying to stop celebrating it! YHWH HIMSELF convicted me and I had to repent. That is why I am sharing His Truth with people. There are many people saying that we can and should celebrate Hannukah! I am here to tell you that they are not telling you His Truth 🥲

That’s also Old Testament. Jesus made a new covenant with us in the New Testament. Jesus celebrated Hanukkah and we should celebrate it too because we are supposed to be followers of Christ and follow in His footsteps. Christmas has pagan origins, while Hanukkah does not.
