“They are victims of conditioning” well said. Every point you made is true. We have the same struggle and issues in America. It’s crazy how our issues mirror each other. We all have been divided and conquered by colonizers. It’s up to us to change the culture.

I go to or past Orania regularly.. There is somewhat of an enclosure, but not guarded, gated or boomed. At the entrance there is a welcome board and it has rules on how to behave. Just outside that light enclosure is a string of shops including a coffee shop via haberdashery. I travel with my team and we go there for their heavenly milkshakes (take note). The Rand is exactly equal to the Orania (like Rand and Lesotho's Maloti). You can swipe your normal bank card as well. They greet Black people with respect, ask where you are from or to. Only a few Afrikaners will stare, but one doesn't feel threatened. Inside Orania are houses the Afrikaners built themselves. Like a housing complex. It is clean and quiet, very few houses have fences. As they drive past each other, they greet habitually. It's what Pen says: thought out, left what doesn't work economically, not just racist individuals.

With regards to the stockvel, personally think black people can use them to have a portion in these big companies instead of buying food for 60k at the end of the year Use the 60k to buy equity either for capital gains or dividends, these stockvels can be used to turn around alot of things and can help employees to move into being business owners, the same thing can be done for property
@Penuelism9 күн бұрын
Great idea... except you don't have control. Capital gains aren't guaranteed, and neither are dividends.
@MfundoTheFellowActuary9 күн бұрын
@Penuelism The stockvel sector alone is worth around 45bn, which is about 11.5bn monthly,hence, it is becoming a very important piece of pie for these institutions. However, we can not consilidate these funds as people do stockvels for different number of reasons Maybe we can look at businesses that have actual cash flow towards the investors and not just acruals such as capital gains.

I Think One Thing that's Missing from Discussions like this is: How do you Prepare yourself for the Reality of Actually being on this entrepreneurship path whether as an individual or as a collective? .. Cause this idea can resonate and push one to actually START, and then the Reality of it demands to be felt. How does one sustain the Will and the Mindset when the Reality that Maslow's Hierachy of Needs does have a Gravitational pull, Psychologically and also when you Look at this Economy?

He said husbands shouldn't be bound to their wives. But, now he is implying that people should be bound to communities. He said women must not work & focus on building the home. While saying marriage is a prison that he will not enter into. Then he said women should learn to stand on their own. After the Bathu sneaker wife saga. THE HE SPOKE BADLY OF SHAKA BUILDING THE ZULU NATION. WHILE UPHOLDING ORANIA FOR A BUILDING A LITTLE TOWN. Why channels like TCC continues to entertain him is beyond me. Thank God Lebo Lion exited this walking contradiction. He did drop some gems though

Pen i appluad your social entrepreneur thinking. Its a pity people that you try to uplift when you move in that sense dont get it. Ive been in that space for many years n alot of good came from it. But it can be very draining, helping people that dont know they need the help is the most difficult thing..

Such a crucial conversation that needs to be had 1. Lobola needs to be standardized at R10 000 to avoid debt. Or play indishi like the Zulu's, where people attending the wedding give gifts or money to assist the couple 2.Make trading share compulsory in schools, even if its a demo account. This will make ppl conscience of whats happening in the business world 3. Every tribe should have a bank of its own- VBS cannot be the death of the idea of having black owned banks 🔥

alot of our powerful sectors in the black community are not formal or journaled. taxi bosses just make money because Black people use their business, and not because they have competition, any comp they remove via blood....churches are the same, pastors are not business people, but they have access to money. so how can people who have no value for the creation of money to fund and drive capital building within the community.

The problem started when we were brain bared by saying go to school pass your matric, go to university, college and get that degree etc. The more important thing of what I've learnt was to be a good sales person without no experience and you'll understand how you can conquer poverty. Don't get me wrong to be a sales you do not need a school or study but plan on how to. The material that can add to your sales expect experience that you created will be the books and speaking to people who are running bigger business to learn more. The power of money is to make money without a cent. I've started my business with no money and made customer relation that created profit. The thing of waiting for someone to help you with money to start a business has brain damaged us and we envey those we know they have the money but don't wanna help us. We need to learn the art of survival and not depending on people to help you but create a good relationship with people who will support your idea. A rich person will never give you money but an idea to make money and if you don't take that advise you will never succeed in life in anything.
