@ you’re looking at it the wrong way. Just look at the PE which is Price / Earnings. Therefore, price is inverse to earnings. So when the PE is high that means the price is high and earnings much lower. And when the earnings go up in an upcycle, the PE will naturally come down due to a higher denominator. Theres basic arithmetic involved here, I hope you’re aware of it.

Gold is not for investment. It is for hedging against inflation/currency. Nobody would know when gold will shootup, how long it will do that, and when it will start stagnating. There were stretches of multiple years when it did nothing, or even gave -ve returns. Check JAN-2012 to JUN-2019 😆 Recent boom in gold has skewed the return "long term average"/CAGR which would otherwise have been mediocre or meh or low IF pandemic and wars did not happen. How would Akshat or any youtuber or anyone know in advance "when will some weird freak crisis come up?" Hence cautious people who understand importance of "asset allocation" for diversification+hedging, just keep on accumulating gold and hold it for long term, ideally as 10-25% of net worth or total investments. If you buy gold *purely hoping or wishing* to get "wow investment returns" from it, you are plain ignorant or a sadist coz gold only rises when there is disaster/horror/tragedy/pain/suffering/crisis for humanity. It is a self-destructive hope or wish.
