Absolutely correct! During the pandemic, I fully transitioned to using DaVinci Resolve for editing. Initially, I encountered some challenges with the editing process until their latest update in 2020, which convinced me to stick with it. Now, I consider DaVinci Resolve to be the top-tier editing software, akin to a Ferrari among editing programs. It encompasses all the features I've been searching for in an editing program. I've experimented with nearly all the leading software options, including Premiere, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, and Autodesk Smoke. At one point, I even considered Boris FX's "Media 100" before settling on a combination of Sony Vegas and After Effects. This combination worked seamlessly for me, especially on a Mac running BootCamp, where it never crashed. However, with Apple's transition to the M1 Chip, Bootcamp became obsolete, prompting me to give DaVinci Resolve a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the significant improvements in the editing capabilities following their updates. As they say, that's the end of the story.

i'm super bias but resolve is also an industry standard for colour, which is why I decided to make the switch. I edited in Premiere primarily for years, and really only used it for that. The cross-over isn't as difficult after awhile either. I personally chose to switch because of the accessibility that Resolve brings and how closely tied it is in terms of editing compared to Premiere Pro.

Hello Sir, would like to know how to apply a color grading I have save before and a blur in an area of the video at the same time? apparently you cannot blur an area and give a better color to the whole video, they both apply to the same area, the blur area its the only one having better color, how to fix this?
@jamescarriere4930 Жыл бұрын
Apply blur effect in the edit page on the timeline. Move the play head over the clip you want to color grade. Click the color page button on the bottom. Adjust the grade to your liking and switch back to the edit page. Blur and grade should be applied
@hellold1762 Жыл бұрын
In DaVinci Resolve, you can apply a color grading and blur effect to specific areas of your video simultaneously using Power Windows. Here's how you can achieve this: 1. Import your video footage into DaVinci Resolve and create a new timeline. 2. Add your video clip to the timeline. 3. Duplicate the video clip by right-clicking on it and selecting "Duplicate" or by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+D. 4. On the duplicated clip, apply the blur effect by navigating to the "Effects" panel, selecting "Blur," and choosing the desired blur effect. 5. To apply color grading, navigate to the "Color" panel. 6. Add a new node by right-clicking in the node graph area and selecting "Add Serial Node." 7. In the node graph, connect the output of the duplicated clip to the input of the new node. 8. Adjust the color grading controls in the new node to achieve the desired look. 9. To create a Power Window, navigate to the "Color" panel and select the "Power Window" tab. 10. Choose the desired shape (e.g., rectangular or elliptical) for the Power Window. 11. Position and adjust the size of the Power Window to cover the area where you want both effects to be applied. 12. In the Power Window controls, select the "Outside" option to apply the effects outside the window. 13. Adjust the blur settings within the Power Window controls to achieve the desired amount of blur. 14. Fine-tune the color grading parameters in the new node if necessary. 15. Preview the video and make any additional adjustments until you are satisfied with the result. By using Power Windows in DaVinci Resolve, you can selectively apply both the blur effect and color grading to specific areas of your video, allowing them to coexist without overlapping.

I’ve only been working with CapCut so far, which has worked fine for me and for what I do, but I am looking to level my editing game up a bit. Also I wish you a nice Christmas time! ˙ᵕ˙
