Whichever tech companies this will apply to will pass these taxes onto us, meaning our digital service prices will increase by more than 3%. In retaliation, the U.S-our largest trading partner by far-will impose similar 3% tariffs on commodities we import from them. Canadian distributors of their commodities will pass those tariffs ultimately to Canadian consumers, aka anyone who has the internet and uses the assaulted services. This will only influence our CPI upwards. But wait, I thought our central bank was trying to influence our CPI down to 2%? Doesn’t matter! This House would rather have this tax add fuel to their bonfire, and for what? To send more money to Ukraine? I thought our Senate was to keep our House in check?! Evidently The Sith Lord is among our Senate! What is going on in our country? “Oh Canada, from far and wide we stand on guard for thee”. Yea, my dirty ass. We have real problems here in Canada. We produce +0.3% each year. So, because our growth in production is on a small but steady incline, which is by no means a bad thing, our population and money supply should match, if we were prudent. Instead, we immigrate 1.2 million people in 2023, the majority of which-we should hope-are employed. Where is this extra money coming from for 1.2 million people? “Just print it” says the central bank. But where will these 1.2 million people live? House of Commons says, print more money to give to a housing committee, who will wave their wand and animate the historically short labour to build houses faster… This is Childs play. I literally mean, after a few short months delay, bend all the young middle class people who live in Canada over, no vaseline. And we-ironically-wonder why our birthrate is 1.3 per couple, and falling. All this accelerated because these well intentioned but short sighted governors didn’t consider what kind of rate stimulus we would require to kick start an economy they killed by forcing people to stay home with the lockdowns in 2021. Why are we continuing to screw our own people? Is it really for a few extra dollars in a politicians pocket? The value of our bank money has been chopped at the knees. Made obvious by the absurd nominal inflation in our housing costs. I am so disappointed in our governors. I hope there are really smart people out there figuring out how to return economic and its associated freedoms to their people because I currently only foresee doom.

Good to see the liberals are going all in on the "screw the next guy" mentality when everything blows up at Canadians expense...
