The danger of this video is, it seems to imply that God was temporarily accepting of polygamy (if it is indeed, a sin) for the purposes of faster procreation. Where do we ever see that God temporarily is accepting of certain sin to accomplish His purpose?

Every time a person sins and God uses it to accomplish His purpose. For example think of Joseph being sold into slavery and then falsely imprisoned. God surely used those sins in order to protect and provide a refuge in a bountiful land for the children of Israel who would father the promised seed. Speaking of the promised seed, God used the worst and most horrific sin of all, the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross to accomplish the greatest purpose of all. It's a staple of Christian doctrine that God uses sin sinlessly to accomplish his purposes. If that were not true then either the death on the cross was the biggest accident in history and God is not sovereignly in control or He his the author of sins.

There seems to be a lot of holes in this theory. God's plan for marriage as monogamous may be a recommendation, but it still doesn't mean that polygamy is a sin. The grammar of the bible is a translation from Hebrew and Greek. Pronouns are subjective, I wouldn't base much stock in grammar. Setting a standard from church leaders to be monogamous and randomly applying that standard to all people is a human decision and I don't think very wise. Ultimately it was the Romans that outlawed polygamy for their own sense of morality. Funny since they're the ones that promoted false Gods and orgies. The same can be said for all other countries today. It's their false sense of righteousness basically succumbing to peer pressure of other countries. They don't want to be singled out so they join in. There are pros and cons to each marriage type. A good question to consider is how forcing everyone into a monogamous marriage can cause damage. Look at the divorces and lawsuits that stem from it.

Pronouns are not subjective. There are only two genders male and female. Second, I don't know what the bible being translated from hebrew to greek has anything to do with the argument. Third, you're merely arguing pragmatism. But if you want to go that route, marriage between one man and one woman leads to more money, better sex, health, better psychologically, and there are nunerous other benefits

I think we have to define the term allowed. God allows us to make choices that may even harm us. Terms must be specific and that is quite difficult choosing the right words. King Joash ordered the killing of Zechariah son of Jehoiada however this was sin. God allowed it to happen but certainly did not say this was right. The text makes that clear. Polygamy or Polygyny is a choice man makes. Each choice has consequences.

"If a man divorces his wife and marries another, he committs adultery." We know, that a man who even divorces his wife makes her committ adultery. Now why did Jesus mention marrying another, if it is fine for a man to marry as many women as he wants? When God gave the law, some of the Israelites may already have had multiple wives. So it makes sense, that God makes laws to take care of them. But that doesn't mean, that polygamy is right in God's eyes. Jacob had 2 wives, and it created much trouble, because he loved one much more than the other. So God made one fertile and one infertile and after a while changed their roles, so that Jacob would care for both of them. That's why the law also says, that if a man has 2 wives, he must not prefer one over the other. There is however one case, in which the Bible ordered polygamy: If a man dies and leaves behind his wife but no children, his brother shall take her as his own wife and raise children for his dead brother. If this brother was already married, he would have to be polygamous, unless there is something about this case in the Bible, that I'm unaware of.

Polygamy or polygany- It matters not. Having more than one wife is adultery. The word makes it clear and simple. Deuteronomy 17:17 - Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. 1 Kings 11:3 - And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. Luke 16:18 - Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
@asphaltking3452

Polygyny is NOT a sin, Deuteronomy 17:17 is a rule specifically set for the KING of ISRAEL NOT the Israelites or Christians, and it isn't a command to be monogamous it is a command not to take wives in EXCESS (which Solomon broke), Luke 16:18 is also taken out of context, the original greek to English translation reads “Everyone who DIVORCES his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one WHO IS DIVORCED from A HUSBAND commits adultery." That clearly doesn't mean having 2 wives is adultery. The bible teaches the only grounds for divorce is sexual immorality, abuse, continuous unrepentant heinous sin & abandonment, if you divorce your wife for any other reason THEN marry another, you're committing adultery. The only context where polygyny is forbidden is in the New Testament, in 1 Timothy 3:2,12 & Titus 1:6 it explicilty states that a man cannot be eligible for church leadership positions if he has multiple wives (most likely to prevent men from using religious authority to take advantage of women). Nowhere does it state that polygyny is forbidden or is a sin, God's original plan for marriage is between one man and one woman, but God has allowed men to take multiple wives on many occasions, Monogamy is supported and endorsed by God, polygyny is permitted by God but NOT endorsed, God still recognizes polygynous marriages as true marriage, to say a polygynous marriage (between consenting adults) is a sin or goes against the word of God is a blatant lie, if God wanted his children to be STRICTLY monogamous he would of blatantly condemned polygyny in the Old or New testament yet the only time God specifically forbids polygamy is for the members of church leadership. Polyandry (one woman with multiple husbands) however is strictly forbidden in Romans 7:2-3, during Old Testament days under mosaic law if a women wasn't a virgin to her first husband she would of possibily been stoned to death (Deuteronomy 22:13-21), so it is clear polyandry is forbidden but polygyny has not once been condemend by God. I understand why you as a woman would dislike polygyny and you have every right to demand your husband to be monogamous but I strongly urge you to STOP TAKING VERSES OUT OF CONTEXT to fit your narrative, our God is a holy and loving God, God wants us to go to heaven and the bible is our infallible guide made by God that points out all the wrongdoing that will cause us to not inherit the kingdom of God ( 1 Corinthians 6:9-10), If polygyny was a sin for Christians or Jews, God would of explicitly forbade it in the Old or New Testament yet the ONLY TIME he condems it is for the men who hold leadership postions in the church, if polygyny was known to be a sin by Apostles then specifically forbidding it in order to qualify for church leadership would be as pointless as saying homosexuals can't qualify for church leadership because it would of been painfully obvious. Even King David, the man referred to as the "man after God's own heart" had 18 wives (8 of which is named), if it was a sin David would of strayed away from God and went to hell because the very existence of his marriage with multiple women would of been a continuous unrepentant sin. When David Killed Uriah so he can take Bathsheba as his wife, that was a grave sin, and did you know what God said to David? 2 Samuel 12: 8 " I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more!". Clearly, God did NOT have a problem with David having multiple wives considering He offered to give him MORE wives if David wasn't satisified. God is a holy God, if polygny was a sin, it would go against his divine nature to offer his children to indulge further in a sin, that would go against everything God stands for. Polygny is NOT a sin and there isn't a single verse in the bible that states it is, Adultery is the act of engaging in sexual activities with anyone not married to you or is married to someone else, Adultery is not applicable to having sexual relations with multiple women that are married to YOU. If Bathsheba was single, David could of rightfully married her (in addition with his multple wives) without it being a sin, instead she was already married, making it Adultery.

@@victoriayoung3898 I can't tell if you're genuinely delusional or willfully ignorant but regardless,I'll explain.Let me repeat what I said last time: STOP TAKING VERSES OUT OF CONTEXT, cherry picking verses is the NUMBER ONE way to misinterpret the bible, for this discussion I will be using the 1995 NASB translation which is the most accurate word-for-word translation of the ancient hebrew, greek & aramaic manuscripts. You claim that Deuteronomy 17:17 is a command that applies to everyone, OUT of context it may appear that way but in context this a FALSE interpretation, Deuteronomy 17:15 say “you shall surely set a KING over you whom the LORD your God chooses, one from among your countrymen you shall set as KING over yourselves…” then verse 16 states “Moreover, HE shall not MULTIPLY horses for himself, nor shall HE cause the people to return to Egypt to MULTIPLY horses, since the LORD has said to you, ‘You shall never again return that way.’ “ It is clear as day & UNDENIABLE that the pronoun “HE” is used to specifically describe the KING of Israel that God has chosen in verse 15 NOT the Jews or Christians. Now verse 17 says “HE (again this is referring to the chosen King) shall not MULTIPLY wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away…”. The word MULTIPLY which is used in verse 16 AND 17 is translated from the original hebrew word “yar·beh-” which literally translates to “take MANY” or “to be or become much, many or great”. This is NOT the equivalent to “MULTIPLE”, that would mean a Israeli King who has 2 or more horses would be living in continuous unrepentant sin which would lead to hell, By your logic, every single king of Israel would burn in hell because they had multiple horses but obviously no one is stupid enough to interpret it like that, if polygyny was forbidden in this passage then it would of also mean that it's a sin for the King to have more than 1 horse, more than 1 gold bar or 1 bar of silver, which it clearly isn’t so your argument is blatantly false.

@@victoriayoung3898 2. What constitutes an Excess of wives? This is a good question but unfortunately an explicit number has not been mentioned in the bible but using the scripture we can hypothesize what constitutes as excess. Traditionally in Judaism the limit of wives a king can have is 18, this was derived from 2 Samuel 12:8 where God himself was condemning David’s adultery saying He would of given him MORE WIVES if David wasn’t satisfied, Rabbis interpret this as triple the amount David had at the time of the adultery which was 6 (6x3=18) but this isn’t concrete since the scripture doesn’t specify “More wives” = triple . David has never ONCE been condemned by God for having multiple wives but was condemned for committing adultery with a married woman, at his death he had 18 wives (8 named in the bible) and since he was considered to be the most righteous King, the man after God’s own heart, safe to assume 18 was the limit. Solomon however was condemned for having multiple wives because they made him stray away from God (predicted in Deut 17:17). Solomon had 700 wives which was definitely excessive. 2 Chronicles 24:2 states that King “Joash did WHAT WAS RIGHT in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the Priest” and follows it up with verse 3: “Jehoiada took TWO wives for him (Joash) and he (Joash) became the father of sons and daughters.” So it seems like the majority of the kings of Israel followed the 18 rule and did not take wives in excess but they still had multiple wives, approved and given to them by God. If polygyny was a sin, God wouldn’t have given multiple wives (which he offered to David) as it would go against his very holy nature. So does this mean Christians & Jews can have 18 wives? Highly unlikely during these times, just because polygyny is allowed by God does not mean all polygynous marriages are sinless, marriage should be born out of love, and men who want to have multiple wives for the sole purpose of fulfilling their lust or to keep as an additional servant is definitely sinful, as a husband you must truly love your wife and provide & care for their well being. As a man I can’t possibly imagine being in love with 4 women let alone 18, maybe 3 and that's a huge stretch, if the marriage is not an authentic loving relationship then it is sinful. The New Testament also talks about the importance of consent in a marriage so I would have to assume having multiple wives without the consent of the first wife would be sinful. Also keep in mind majority of men struggle to provide for & satisfy one wife, let alone 18. Only the elite level of men (Less than 0.1% of the world population) can commit to a fullfiling polygnous marriage. If a man doesn't have the resources & mental capability to govern a polygynous marriage but gets married anyway due to his lustful urges or the desire to be serviced by multiple wives, that most definitely is sinful.

@@victoriayoung3898 3. I have clearly debunked your usage of Deuteronomy 17:17 and Luke 16:18 since these verses have absolutely NOTHING to do with condemning polygny but I want to dive deeper into your statement: : “Either believe the Word of God, and all of it.... Or do not. You cannot be partial or you are doing it wrong.” First of all, I completely agree but the irony of you saying it is absolutely hilarious. Saying such a thing and not following it through is hypocritical. If you believe polygny is a sin explain why in Exodus 21:10 God himself explicitly commands the husband to ensure the second wife’s needs & martial rights are met if the entire marriage is sinful? Why does Deuteronomy 21:15-17 specifically protect the first born’s birthright in a polygynous marriage? Wouldn’t that be obvious if polygynous marriages were never regognized as a legitimate marriage? If polygny was a sin why didn’t God condemn David in 2 Samuel 5:13 but condemned him for adultery? One of the best qualities of David was that he would right his wrongs by confessing & repent from his sins, not once did David confess or repent for having multiple wives. If polygny was a sin why would the ENITRE Israeli bloodline be born from a polygynous marriage (Jacob had 12 Sons through FOUR women) ?? If it was a grave sin against God, why are the men that had the closest relationship with God (Abraham, Jacob, Moses,David, Solomon [he took it over board no doubt], Gideon, Hosea) all partake in polygny? It is clear as day polygny was allowed by God, why else would 1 Timothy 3:2/12 and Titus 1:5-8 specifically state the *overseers & deacons* of the CHURCH MUST be monogamous? If polygyny was a sin wouldn't it say the followers of Christ, or men of God MUST be monogamous? Yet such a passage is NEVER found in the entire bible. The New Testament teaches us the mosaic law doesn’t apply to christians (except for the moral laws ie. 10 commandments, exodus 21:10), polygyny and concubinage was allowed in the Old Testament but Christians can’t have concubines because the New Testament is clear that any and all sexual activites outside of a MARRIAGE is a sin but not one single verse says that a man having multiples marriages is a sin. Why? Because polygny was never a sin, it was never forbidden, as times changed, Men began to lose the ability to maintain their poygnous relationships due to lack of wealth, mental stability & change in societal structures. Monogamy is God’s original intent, it is allowed and endorsed by God, Polygyny is not endorsed but allowed. To say that polygny is a sin when there isn’t a single passage of scripture that states so, that would be lying and lying is most definitely a sin.

The relationship between a man and his polygamous wives is that to each of his wives, He is a husband to her (his wife). In the new testament, the standard to be an elder in church is that you should be a husband of one wife. This means that it was normal for church members to have multiple wives. No where in the new testament was polygamy criticized amongst the many sins. The sin of sleeping with your mother, men sleeping with men, greediness etc was criticised but no where was polygamy criticized or even named amongst sins. Polygamy is not a sin. Is it a satisfactory relationship and a stable one? Probably not. The reasons given in this video is a human analysis of God's intentions. God criticised the kings and His people for sins. But no where does it condemn polygamy. The relationship between Christ and the church is a one-to-many relationship. That's how the husband is the head to each wife.

Instead of asking if Polygeny is a sin, I wish our people would start asking themselves why does God allow Polygeny. Why is it lawful? Do you not understand that the laws of God are the constitution and bill of rights for the Kingdom of Israel? This is what they govern themselves by. This is what God govern them by. He has never allowed them to sin! Neither has he had laws of sin written by his righteousness. No one is forced to marry or not marry. You have the free will to marry how you please. God will judge all things by his word/law. But please stop saying women who choose to marry one man are sinning. Or a man who has more than one wife is sinning. Stop trying to seperate Christ from the father. They are 1. That is either ignorant or evil to think or say such a thing! You are calling God the minister of sin! Please Stop judging by your religion and see God's righteousness. God allows Polygeny because he is against sin. He gave Polygeny/marital law to put away all manner of fornication (1 Corinthians 6:18). To put away whoredom (using women as one does a whore) from among the children of God (Deuteronomy 23:17). To put away all manner of sexual immorality (Exodus 22, Leviticus 21, & Deuteronomy 22). To keep confusion from among his people by keeping a man's children and the women thereof under one headship (1 Timothy 5:8, Proverbs 22:6 Deuteronomy 11:16-19, & 1 Timothy 3:5). To keep a woman that desires to wear a man's masculinity, sexuality, and headship from among the children of God/vice versa (Proverbs31:3, Deuteronomy 22:5, Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:24-32, 1 Corinthians 11:3), and the list goes on family. I ask you all, when did that change? The law is righteous and will always be righteous. Your unrighteousness doesn't change that. In fact, it's why you must die. God made marriage the rule of Law in all the earth (Genesis,1 , 2, 9, Psalm 24:1, etc). Polygeny is marriage, and marriage is honorable in all (Hebrews 13:4). Even if you were taken as a servant wife God still honors you (Exodus 20:10 & Exodus 21:7-10). A restriction given to a Bishop or Deacon is not an implication of sin. Just as there is law specific to women and some specific to men. Their is law specific to a King and some for a prophet. If you do not hold these positions/work in your lifetime, these laws do not apply to you. Concerning Deuteronomy 17:14-20 this is law pertaining to Kings, not to all men. We live in a nation where most men live by its culture, customs, and laws instead of the word/law of God (Matthew 4:4, Matthew 15:3, Acts 5:29, etc..). What they practice here is fornication and is ungodly (Revelation 21:18). Polygeny can never be a sin, because by God's decree: sin is the disobedience to the laws of God (1 John 3:4). They cannot grasp this because they do not understand the Kingdom (Matthew 13:11) because they have no respect/honor for the laws of God. For the constitution, the bills if rights, the civil and moral laws given to Israel. Even the penal codes thereof. They only know a democracy, a republic, communism, socialism, etc... What they can vote in and out. Some man-made stuff. They do not know or honor the Kingdom of God is the government setup over heaven and earth ( Isaiah 9:9, Matthew 3:2, Luke 10:9, Matthew 7:24-25). They lack knowledge that all the word/decrees of the King is law and is lawful (Deuteronomy 8:3, Psalm 119:89, Matthew 24:35). They lack this understanding to be able to apply or divide the word of God rightly. As for divorce, Christ in Matthew 19 said it best: In the beginning, it wasn't so. The beginning being "Genesis." No man in the bloodline of Christ in Genesis divorced his wife or wives. God didn't give Adam another wife. Jacob endured his son laying with one of his wives and kept them both among him. Abraham was told by God to move out the bond woman and his son by God. He didn't choose to. No one ever put away their wives lawfully until the law of Moses. This is what it means when said but Moses. Before the law of Moses, divorce was never lawful for the lineage nor the children of Israel. You never see it throughout time until God allows Moses to give it. That's when it becomes lawful. This is what Christ is saying. He's dealing with divorce. It's not Christians who are confused. It's all men who do not understand that which Christ has preached throughout his whole ministry was purely the word of God. The main thing and focus of his message, is "The Kingdom" Which he mentions over a 100 times throughout his gospels. These men and women are of this world and worldly minded. Ever learning but unable to come to the truth of God (2 Timothy 3:7). Still focused on the intent of God and never moving with God into the purpose of man (Ecclesiastes 12:13 & 1 John 5:3). Allowing sin to rule the day instead of his son. Christ gives God what he intended to get out of mankind. If God could get the perfection he desires out of the children of Adam, he would not have sent another. Be wise family and let God be true & every man a liar.

I find it sad how modern Christians have strayed so far from Biblical truth - actually calling polygamy a sin! There is not even the vaguest suggestion in the Bible that polygamy is a sin! It is absurd how Christians have taken one verse of Genesis, describing the process of marrying a "wife" (singular) - and concluded that we may only do this ONCE EVER! By that kind of warped logic, the priests would only be allowed to sacrifice ONE bull EVER, since the Bible only describes the process of sacrificing "a bull" (singular)! This is looney tunes logic, not sound, spiritual teaching. There's not a word in the Bible about polygamy being a sin, instead we see that almost all the saints had multiple wives, quite rightly so. Yes, it's different for Christians. Paul told us that it's ideal for a Christian man to remain celibate and not to take ANY wives - and Christian leaders should have one wife maximum. But that doesn't make marriage somehow "immoral"! Paul was merely encouraging us to be fully devoted to God instead of committing our lives to pleasure, and getting tied up with responsibilities (wives take a lot of time). If Paul had been around today, he might similarly have recommended that a Christians shouldn't own a TV - or to own one TV at most. That doesn't make TV ownership sinful, it's just a distraction Christians can do without. In fact, it's watching TV that has led to this satanic mindset of monogamy. Christians these days have their minds entrenched in the Satanic media. They are being programmed with satanic values like monogamy, which was invented by the Catholic Church, who spread this perverse ideology around the world. Monogamy is evil and dangerous. It completely redefines Biblical marriage. The Bible tells us that marriage is when a man pays the bride's father and takes possession over a woman, who becomes his property. She belongs to him. There is no "equality", she is his possession, just as the Lord Jesus shed his precious blood to purchase us, His Church. We are not in partnership with the Bridegroom - we are His possession. But monogamy elevates a woman to the status of equal, teaching that all men and women are looking for "one special someone" in their lives, and need to form a "partnership" or "coupling". It promotes the idea that men and women have the same needs, desires, and role in society - that men and women alike should not be interested in multiple partners. This is absurd because it is human nature for men to love multiple women. Monogamy presents a totally twisted view of love and marriage, which causes untold damage, leading to adultery and divorce. In recent years, this has led to marriage now being defined as "a partnership of two people", which means the two people can be any gender. Thus, the idea of marriage being the purchase of a woman (the weaker sex) by a man (the stronger sex) has now COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED thanks to Roman Catholic monogamy. Congratulations, church, you have destroyed Biblical marriage and the godly view of male-female relations! In fact, the modern church is totally wrong about almost everything concerning sex and marriage, including adultery and homosexuality. Satan must be rejoicing! I realized years ago that "Got Questions" was a satanic ministry when I discovered that many of their articles were written by women! Outrageous! Women do NOT lead in the church, that is expressly forbidden, as is women speaking in church. It is disgraceful what this Bible-rejecting TV-worshiping generation has allowed to take place in the church! Satan has you under his control! I was called by God as a Bible teacher and have a great deal to say about these topics and more, so if anyone's interested, please keep an eye on my channel where I'm planning to upload a series of very important videos in the near future which I think every Christian needs to hear! How happy are you in your polygamous marriage? Do the wives get along with each other, or is there some rivelary between them? How one are you with your wives? Do you share your heart with all of them? I ask this because Paul discribes marriage, being one flesh as a deep mystery between a man and a woman. That implies not only on physical but also on spiritual level. Can you give your all to all of your wives, as Christ gives His all to His Bride? That question cannot be answered with yes, because every wife gets only a piece of you. A question: why did God make only one woman for Adam? If it really is natural for a man to love multiple women, why doesn't any woman want to share her husband? Look at Jacob with Rachel and Leah, or at Elkana with Hannah and Peninah. There was no peace. You sir believe in a lie! You only want to follow your own desires and don't want to hear restrictions that are healthy for your heart and mind. And you say that the gender doesn't matter? Really! Read your Bible! Indeed, the Bible doesn't condemn polygamy, but it's very clear that monogamy is preferred in many ways. Even the Song of Solomon, the man with a thousand wives, is a song about one man and one woman. How he describes her, its impossible to love another woman that much. And the woman knows that this man is only for her. In the beginning God made man male and female in one person. This person was as much male as female. As shown later when God created Eve. He took the female part of man and created another person. Not plural, so man and woman are equal; both one person, she beside him. Not over him or under him, but equal. Those two persons are to become as one flesh again as they were created in the beginning. That is marriage.

We go against the law which prohibits polygamy because if we keep up such laws then a man should sleep with another men's wives which is more worse then polygamy. In nations where polygamy is an offence, there in those nations adultery is ver common and 80 percent of children are born in adultery because many men sleep with their neighbours wives. Going against polygamy results in more adultery and men who oppose polygamy will see their wives sleeping with other men in their life time for sure because these people pushed people into adultery and became victims of adultery.

@@Joefest99 Deuteronomy 17:17 is about Kings and not to multiply wives, they can still have more than one. Here’s the actual verse so that we can use God’s actual Word and not your twisting of it to suit your bias: Deuteronomy 17:17 King James Version 17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. Obviously a King will also have more than one piece of gold and silver. It doesn’t matter though if you are intentionally twisting scripture, you won’t care about what the Bible actually says. And for the full context, Deut 17:15-18 15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother. 16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the Lord hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way. 17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites: And if we want to go by first sins, the first sin came from a monogamous couple(Adam and Eve). First murder, monogamous family line, Cain and Abel. And on and on. Let’s actually look at the sin itself and not try and tie it to the relationship status which has nothing to do with it. Let’s make it easy for you to understand: if David was single, he still committed adultery and murder by killing Uriah and sleeping with Bathsheba. The same judgement would have befallen him. If Adam had multiple wives, Cain still sinned by killing Abel(murder).

What God forbids, he declares it. He does not leave room for interpretation and time periods have no bearing. God declared homosexuality is an abomination as is incest. He said let those desiring to be bishops and deacons be the husband of one wife. He was very specific. There are husbands today with women on the side who KNOW they are married. Why the secrecy? Because many women get jealous. If the mistress can accept the married man, why can’t the wife accept the mistress. Love does not envy! If a woman can love her children equally, a husband can love his wives equally. Sibling rivalry is real. The first MONOGAMOUS couple had one son kill his own brother. It’s a mother’s job to not play favorites among her children. Same for the husband towards his wives. God even gave instructions to men with multiple wives. He did not forbid it or speak against it. He said if a man take a second wife, the first wife must not lose anything which includes, food, clothing and sex.

Exodus 21:10 - If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. Exodus 21:10 is one proof that, God in our mortal existence, is not dictating monogamy as His absolute and universal standard to and for all men. Though monogamy was God's intended purpose from the beginning and should still be considered the norm, there could be few instances, where another wife in the life of a man, is a required solution and not a problem. However, Christian leaders have placed a blanket injunction on the consideration of having another wife, no matter what. Could it be said, that in Exodus 21:10, God through Moses, was providing guidance and not outright condemnation on one having another wife? If not, then we are right about our rigid stands on monogamy. Otherwise, we may be acting wiser than God, who in this instance, is providing directives on the management of having another wife. May it not be our insatiable desire as humans, to control the lives of others, that makes us rigid and constricted in our stands, even in areas, where God is flexible and accommodating. We deny, options to some with genuine needs, that we in our assessment of righteousness, are unable to relate to. What we need to do as Christian leaders, is to engender the nurturing of deep, genuine and personal relationships with God in the lives of our flock and allow God Himself to direct and control them. We are limited in our understanding of God's ways, no matter who we are. Solutions God has used in the past, He, in his sovereignty, can use again. In the midst of rules, there could be some genuine exceptions we should not be blinded to. The above comments are not intended to support the lustful behaviours of reprobates, but an open-minded, level-headed contribution to a rather controversial subject; of a Christian having an additional wife, as his only option at a point, with divorce certainly out of the question. What are the options for a man with a terminally ill wife, with a family of kids to cater for? How will his sexual needs as a normal man be legitimately met? Should he stay, wishing his wife would die so he can remarry? Solutions for scenarios like this, cannot be dictated to nor imposed on a man. The solution can only be gotten through his personal interaction and relationship with God in the place where the Spirit of the Lord grants God's Children an environment of peace and liberty to navigate our lives in Him. In 1 Corinthians 7:10-11which says - And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: [11]But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. - The Lord through Paul, commands men specifically; never to put their wife away. This is the Biblical instruction to men, ìn line with God's pronouncement on His hatred for divorce, which Biblically is initiated by men. This instruction is erroneously extended to apply to wives as well. This is a wrong interpretation of that scripture. For the wife, the instruction is not to depart from the husband, to remain unmarried if she should or be reconciled to her husband. It should be understood, for correct interpretation, that this instruction to the wife, does not extend to the husband. In a scenario where a wife opts to depart, a good husband may wait in expectation for her return to be reconciled. What if he waits for five years, then ten years without the wife's return. What will be the stand of hard-line Christian monogamists, if he decides to marry after fifteen years? Divorcing, out of the question. Furthermore, what will be their dictates, if the wife who opted to depart, decides on a reconciliation after twenty years? What happens to the wife who came into the man's life and has been performing the duties abandoned by the first wife? It is a fact, that most advocates for polygamy may have dubious and unbiblical reasons. However, this should not warrant a shallow or legalistic interpretation of God's directives. We may only understand and appreciate these plights, when they happen to us. It is in such situations that we should trust and respect God's personal guidance to His Children, which may be contrary to what we think, possibly as a result of our erroneous interpretation and application of God's word.

The more I study the bible, The more it all seems like BS. There’s always these acrobatics with scripture across books to justify something. Thou shall not kill… unless they are people who worship a different god, even though they don’t know about this god yet, and even though they aren’t actually praying to anything because this god is the only GOD that exists. 😂

how about how God brought salvation to the jews and they asked Him if it was for the Gentiles too and God literally had to think on it for a bit.

Please quote them so we can all learn. I personally find sharp observation without offering anything better as being unhelpful to our Christian walk. I want to hear what you have to say so I can go check out the scriptures and learn. I already know Polygyny is wrong but there is nowhere where the Bible says thou shalt not... That said it is clear that Genesis tells us God created Adam and Eve...one man and one woman then Jesus when asked by the Pharisees about divorce refers to this scripture portion in Genesis. It is tough but God allowed polygamy...he did not wipe the actors out. Think David 8 wives and Solomon 700!

This is all guessing about being biased against polygamy without solid facts. If a woman didn't find a husband, she would just live with her parents. Also, if it were condemned, surely it would be written somewhere in the new testament which it is not.

Maybe theres a time and place for and situation for everything. Are you having multiple wives because you want to show off or fill the void of lust? Clearly this would be bad. Are you trying to repopulate your nation or specific Israeli tribe that that got wiped out on the battle field? I could see a case in that point. I think looking through the cultural lens of 2024 is very warped as well. Western culture and eastern culture mindesets are very different

So you cant help a women without marrying her? So having a man with100s of children is good? Where is his influence in their lives? He will never know them. How is that advantageous? 1 women can give a man as many children as he can influence and love. Doesnt that seem wiser/ better? Seems like a no brainer.

Religion is the most foolish thing I've ever come across. I really have no clue why people follow it (Or claim to follow it). When they clearly cherry pick the bits that suit them and ignore the rest.

Acts 3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Romans 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Jude 1:5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

He clearly stats many times to only have one wife, and a wife can only have one husband. But as the Bible does try to cover every cultural aspects of that time, it does give reference to any man who has multiple wives and how he should treat them all. Also it does mention the some wise and righteous men who all had multiple wives, but I don't think men should strive to be like some of the prophets and other wise men instead be like Christ, as he stated you can have one wife but better yet have none so you may prioritize god.
