Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. If I told you I ate a banana yesterday would you think twice about it? Probably not. This is a common everyday reality for many humans. What if I told you I ate dinner with Elvis Presley. Now it does seem logical to question it. Elvis died a long time ago. That's how the human brain works. While there is historical evidence of jesus's existence, the number of metaphors and parallels makes it difficult to separate what happened litterally and what is symbolic.

I was born orthodox and then became a skeptic, recently, I began studying different religions and theology, watching movies, documentaries and reading about saints from different denominations and countries, watching KZbinrs that have different religions, denominations and even atheists like Cosmic Skeptic, even a friar from Breaking in the habit, watching The Chosen. And there are way too many parallels and coincidences to say that we all came from nothing, or that all species evolved from one singular cell, that our lives are meaningless and we end uo in silence after death. I even watched testimonies of Buddhists and muslims that came to Christianity after being threatened by their family, disowned or fearing for their lives, as well as ex Jahovah Witnesses. We cannot deny that humans are made for more, that we are highly spiritual beings. It's no wonder that' we are not only fighting against flesh and blood, looking at the west and everything crazy that is happening there with all the drag queens, parades, trans in women's sports, satancon, aliens findings, doctors exploiting innocent children for transitioning early instead of sending them to a psychologist, all that wacky stuff..you cannot stop, think and wonder how an ancient text from one of the most important religions, came to predict all of this madness, for us to deny it would be signing up ourselves to misery.

i have a similar story, also born orthodox started learning about politics and history while skeptic and it turned me back to the faith. the communists always hated christians, the horrors of their persecution has no peer in this world, going through intense torture and come out of it still believing in Jesus is not something normal. the Ploiesti experiment in Romania tried to reeducate students, they were tortured by other inmates(even family), they were forced to play theater with scenes from the bible but make it pornographic or use fecal matter and urine instead of bread and wine. my stomach is turning only thinking about it.
@8rosesofthemoon8
@8rosesofthemoon8 Жыл бұрын
@@redwojak5182 I actually am from Romania, there is also the prison from Aiud, a lot of religious people including priests were locked up in there. After reeducating them, some inmates were ever forced to beat up their friends, so imagine the horror. Your cellmate that you've known for months, knows all about your family, prays for you, suddenly wakes you up to punch your or throw you in the snow and beat you with sticks. The communists real goal was to erradicate all traditions native to each nation of Europe, all religions, basically, what the west is trynna push, become one, one religion, one political party, one race, instead of just letting everyone in peace, to practice what they think is appropiate, instead of letting people just carry on with their traditions. And it is honestly hearbreaking to me as a balkan, seeing all these traditions and beliefs slowly fade away cause our youngsters keep looking up to westerners and celebrities that have a broken set of moralities and a lot of them sell themselves for money or fame.

The biggest flaw I see atheist do when thinking of God, is lowering him down to a human standard and judging him as he was a “super” human. I thought like that when I was an atheist and as soon as understood the concept of God and what/who God is, is the day I become a theist and later on orthodox. I strongly believe that when arguing with atheist is to make sure they truly grasp the full concept of God to begin with and then go from there. God forgive them🙏🏻☦️

*"The biggest flaw I see atheist do when thinking of God, is lowering him down to a human standard"* It seems to me you're confused about the concept of an analogy. Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

If its any help, start with the classics and make your way up from there, pre-socratics, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, The stoics, Epicureans, Cynics, Skeptics etc this is the Greek period. There is also 1 major philosopher from Cynthia and some Asian ones to pay attention to along with Zoroastrianism and The 5 books of Moses. Pretty much as you make your way through the history, the philosophy gets more and more advanced with more and more schools of thought. At some point you'll hit a new paradigm of naturalism, at that point you'll divide philosophy by pre-modern and modern. You should also be aware of the MAP of philosophy so you don't get lost trying to organise everything I your mind. So look at the 5 branches of philosophy, get knowledge of the basic definitions and then learn about definitions of basic philosophical terms. You should also check out Fr. Dcn Ananias and Jay Dyer as they have some good videos too. (Fr. Dcn is great for Aristotle, TAG and logic) Kane B on KZbin can be quite good as well as Carneades.org on KZbin. It’s crazy how these foolish atheists cannot get out of the loop of assuming suffering = bad and pleasure = good. They then judge Christianity on this basis which literally denies this hedonistic system of morality. Plenty of people have lots of pleasure points and still hate their lives. Goodness is a spiritual state not hormone releases. It is good for the wicked to be cleansed of their sins by spiritual fire not evil. From the very first day I slept like a baby and got solid sleep every single night. At some point I had to go back to my apartment and that very first night I was unable to sleep. At around midnight I was laying tossing and turning and upset because I was going to be so tired for Divine Liturgy and then a light bulb went off in my head and I thought why don't I try turning off the router because that's the only thing that's really different in living situations. Within 10 minutes I fell asleep and did not wake back up until my alarm went off. I have not had sleep problems since!

Hello. I have a question here. I can agree with the TAG argument and the need to have an epistemological grounding for philosphy and knowledge. However one thing that I'm still left wondering is, how we go from a transcendant God that is the epistemological foundation of being to an immanent and personal God like that found in The Bible? Since where I'm standing, that leaves me at either Deism, or Monism. How do we go from that to the Christian God? Is it because of Divine Revelation? Or Faith? If so, then how can we say that we are correct and that others were wrong? Is it not special pleading to say our divine revelations and faith in God is correct, but all others are wrong? And furthermore, if the eternal resting place of my soul is determined primarily by faith, I would hesitate to believe because there's no way for me to know for certain whether Christianity were true, or if the Hindus were right and we're all the dream of Brahman. Just leaving this here as a serious question, as I have asked people like Jay Dyer this same question abd they never responded. Thanks, Kyle!

@@OrthodoxKyle So I watched those videos over my days off, I ended up skipping some of the videos, just the ones on Atheism, and evolution since I am not an Atheist. And I am convinced of the Transcedental Argument for God, however it still runs into problems with divine revelation and which faith is ultimately true. That is, going from the God based on TAG, to The Christian God. Ultimately, and even Jay Dyer said as much, it depends on divine revelation, and ultimately faith in that divine revelation, which is fine, I have no issue with that, my issue was and still is with the special pleading that logically comes in saying the divine revelations of Christianity is the only truth and that all others are false. I get it makes sense on a fundamental level, in that according to TAG, God is the epistomological foundation and justification for all things, including truth, so the divine revelation we get from him must be the truth, and since their divine revelation is different from The Christian one, that means it is false and can't be coming from God, however again I don't necessarily agree with that conclusion. It would seem that with TAG, Monism, which is what I personally follow and believe, is also a logical conclusion that can be drawn from the argument, Dyer himself states so as well in one of the streams he does on TAG, although of course he has his own separate issues with Monism, that I personally don't because I'd argue that The Trinity itself is a form of Monism, and according to The Orthodox faith is Panentheistic, through Theosis. The only difference I'd say is that The Trinity says God has but 3 forms(persons), The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, whereas I'd posit that God could and does have a limitless amount of forms and persons, as I believe God resides within all things and that all things reside within God. Though it is important to note that I believe God is still higher and more than just the universe, since I am not a Pantheist. Honestly I thank you for showing me those videos as it has helped me grow in knowledge and answered the questions that I had about TAG and God, most of the people I ask either don't respond, or they give me non-arguments. From one Gen Z guy to another, you're doing great work with your channel, and even though I'm not Christian, I think it's way better for our future and society that people believe in God, than for us to continue down this path of Atheism and Nihilism.

11:25 Even with the idea of a God who created beings that he knew wouldn’t believe or rejected Him, life is still a gift in of itself. The other option would just be not never creating those that He knew would reject him, which still would be an act of justice. I would say though, would that have been a “better alternative?” For also to make humanity only exist in the Middle East as well.

Kyle, my dear brother in Christ. I am a new Orthodox convert, i was a Prot all my life, and i saw the many outright demoniac doctrines in my old church. I always wanted to be a Pastor, and now that i am Orthodox, i wish to become a Priest, i live in a country with so so so little Orthodox presence, not even in my city there is a church. But i will soon join a church, and study a lot, so that in 3 years i may start to become a priest. Please, make a video if Orthodox Priests can Street preach, i really wish to preach, there is next to NOTHING Orthodox presence here, much less preachers. I saw many Orthodox saying we don't preach, because our view of salvation is diferrent from Prots, and they laid really stupid points, like saying prots think if you accept Jesus you're saved 100% Which is not true, or atleast not true to mosts prots, and i wish just like many prots, to go around and preach, i love Orthodoxy, i know they can only be saved after a long and continuous life with Christ, and i want them to have it within the true church. Please make a video explaining how the Orthodox doctrine on street preaching is, it is a very important thing, and i don't see any Orthodox talking about it at all. We NEED to bring people to Christ and his church, we need them to know him SO they can start having a life near him, and then be saved. It is of upmost importance, not for the specific benefit of the church, but, for THEIR benefit. These people need a saviour

Categorical fallacy. God is not comparable to Thor or any pagan deities. We have disproven the pagan deities, because they are said to be physical finite beings that control things in nature, but they’re nowhere to be seen and we have shown that things like storms are just natural occurrences. God, on the other hand, is completely different and science doesn’t disprove a single word of the Christian faith. God is a metaphysical, infinite being outside of the universe and controlling natural phenomenon isn’t what he does. The “people only believe in God to explain natural phenomenon” argument is completely ignorant and false. We don’t need God to explain where storms come from, we need Him to explain who created the universe, what is good and what is evil, what the meaning of life is, where the transcendental categories come from, etc.

@@OrthodoxKyle i thought it was supposed to be an example for how Hell has to work yeah, in that video too, it's the same thing. i heard Jay Dyer give this type of response in another context. there is no answer that we get, because we are not big brained enough. we just have to stop asking. if evil is a move away from God/goodness, and we have free will, there seems to be no reason for the Fall to even happen. free rational creatures that are informed would never move away from God, because they have every reason not to, and no reason to, unless if it is out of ignorance on some level yep, no evil on atheism. there are similar looking things that we can call evil as a convention, and respond to it mostly the same but yep there is no evil in the way you mean it. i'm only doing the internal critique version here. it's not even "if god then he wouldnt let bad thing happen" it's "if god then bad thing wouldnt happen at all because there is no mechanism to cause it in the initial perfect state"

@@Greyz174 You do not understand philosophy. The point is that Adam and Eve were informed as in they had a drive in them to do certain things. But you don't understand that people will do terrible things even in the best of circumstances. You say there is no mechanism to cause it but the mechanism is free will. Having free will isn't bad. Abusing it is bad. Let me give you an example. Suppose your dad goes out for a few hours and he says not to eat his food while he is gone. However, because it looks enticing to you, you eat it. Does that mean you're not at fault? No. Also, if you're saying evil exists as a convention of what people say is evil or not and not any in the way that he means it, then you are basically saying that nothing is wrong and also, Kyle has made the point multiple times where in order for something to be true, it has to be true whether you are by yourself or with other people. That does nothing to explain why anyone actually decides to make them happen Arguing by example is weak, you cant outsource the meat of your explanation to just expecting me to interpret your example in the same way you do. I do not interpret the kid as "just choosing to do the wrong thing because he wanted to, because free will" it's more about him not knowing how to manage his desires and then the parent can either come back and teach him that better, or punish him in order to give incentive to figure that management out himself.
