That's the saddest part isn't it? When this Irishman talks about seeing Egyptians and Carthaginians in the streets he is obviously alluding to the situation in Europe. Only that the Roman Empire is actually the British Empire and the "slave peoples" is anyone from a former colony. That's the deceit, his people where massacred and treated poorly by Anglos for centuries but now he larps as one of them. Godless Britannia attempts to blame Christ for the things it did and keeps doing willingly - copium for the atheist nihilist masses.

J.M. DA. What’s “Noble” or Beatiful about Atheism? That’s a contradiction. You can’t have metaphysical claims like those without having a metaphysical framework. Especially if your morality is subjective. Not to mention, look where post enlightenment philosophy got us, (mostly in the west). We now live im ugly, lifeless societies, where children sit on IPhones and watch porn and play video games all day. Doesn’t really sound noble. Something like the Christen Byzantine empire, Russian empire, and Christianity all have. Atheism has produced almost nothing noble. In fact the opposite. Niche constantly described art as the antithesis to Nihilism and yet the art produced today leads to Nihilism. Since we’ve turned our back on Christianity all we have is Nihilist hedonism. Don’t take the Niche pill like I once did. It’s just another arbitrary post enlightenment worldview that doesn’t hold water. Plus Niche held plenty of incoherent and contradictory beliefs. He talked about semen retention and sexual transmutation, yet died of syphilis from frequenting brothels. I respect him as a critic, and that even though he was an atheist he tried to fight Nihilism. But he never provided a working solution. Throw around “slave” “master” “weak” “power” all you want but that changes nothing.

Tom Holland, the author of "Dominion" is a historian, who studied ancient Rome and Greece, ever fascinated by that time period. Over the years he realized, just how different their outlooks and mindsets were to ours: Romans glorified power over everything. Humility was weakness. Expressing compassion was a fault to be despised. Kicking those below you was proper conduct. The gentleman in your video either doesn't know what he is advocating for or he wants to be the boss, humiliating those below him...
@zekun4741
@zekun4741 Жыл бұрын
If you're a Christian, what's your fundamental problem with domination, lack of compassion and kicking those below you? Moses for instance was all about domination, compassion was frowned upon and they kicked those below them, including the civilians. Say what you want about the Romans, but they created one of the most successful states in history that modern ones are based on, they didn't even give their women proper names, but at the same time they had far more compassion for their enemies than the Jews ever did, and instead wanted to force their civilisation on them, and in many cases introduced prosperity to their subjects.

Yes, horror "stories" with zero reliable evidence, for starters their literally never even were any snakes in Ireland to begin with. Were those stories any worse than Christian public executions of burnings at stakes or witch trials? Or 1000 years of Christian medieval society torture devices and public executions? The barbarians equally saw Rome as something to be conquered and enslaved, and did so, everyone looked down on everyone and everyone enslaved everyone. Romans even generally looked up to Germanics but still enslaved them and admired them while they were in chain (Pope Gregory the Great admiring Anglo-Saxon slaves in the 5th century, did free them or pity them, just remarked how beautiful they were and sent an official mission to England). You seem to be suffering from wholesale cognitive dissonance, as if you've never stopped and thought critically about anything for 10 seconds.

@@Alfred5555 nice ad hominem bro.... Celtic pagan stories were told word of mouth for centuries. Even during the time of the Celtic Christian Saints. The Saints even wrote these stories down to better understand the people. I mean St Columba dealt with both Fae and the Loch Ness Monster. Many other Saints dealt with such creatures. Kelpies, fae, banshees, the Ghillie Dhu, etc. I mean we even have stories of half wolf men that go fishing..... Also oh no.... Witch hunts (never supported by Orthodoxy) which even modern day scholars say that witches committed atrocious actions. Burning at the stake is also something not supported by Orthodoxy. Why do you try to use non Orthodox persecutions against Orthodoxy? Is it because you have a bone to pick with western Christianity and don't know anything about Orthodoxy? Is it because you want to spread relativism? Honestly. I could just leave it with your ad hominem literally makes you're whole argument moot. But.... @@TheByzAmericanWizard Nothing I said was ad hominin, you do very obviously suffer from cognitive dissonance, I'm criticising your failing not you, I in fact plead with you to try and thinking critically for longer than 10 seconds. It's just strange than victimhood was the first thing you mentioned. Yes folklore has been passed down for centuries. You started by making claims about the practises of pagan people, and now you're trying to defend the authenticity of those completely unverifiable claims...by telling me all the mythical creatures that have also been recorded...Surely that only proves my point that these stories are likely nonsense...did you get confused about which thing you were trying to argue for and accidentally dispelled your own anti-pagan claims as utter myth? Russia was famous for its witch trials, I don't know what scam you're trying to pull by saying "oh but actual Orthodoxy never endorsed it" well Russia and all the Orthodox countries did just like the rest of Europe. And if you want to try and hide behind Eastern Europe, the literal inspiration for Dracula, Vlad Tepes, the most cruel man of the last 1000 years was an ardent Orthodox Christian and is a Saint in the Orthodox Church, you're a complete joke for trying to side step witch trials as if they were even a drop in the ocean of the unending Christian medieval blood bath. No amount of even mythological pagan savagery can hold a candle to Christian medieval torture. What is this little cop out "modern day scholars say the witches committed atrocious action" ahahah, what the hell are you talking about? You try to excuse the whole Orthodox Church, then why do you feel the need to add that "actually" the witches deserved it anyway? ahaha. I'd also love to read what these modern scholars have to say. I never made an ad hominem, but even if I did, an ad hominem in absolutely no way invalidates any argument. You focusing on this lie so desperately only screams that you have nothing else to cling to and so are appealing to emotion. Another lie, I never said we couldn't possibly know anything about Celtic pagan culture, I said that Christian nightmares stories about pagan practices are unverifiable, and likely just stories, and have literally no evidence to support them. Like the other Christian lie of "wide spread human sacrifice" it just wasn't a thing, it almost never happened and there is no evidence to show it was ever common. The most wide spread human sacrifice was Roman public executions, which then became Christian public executions. Christianity is literally built on the idea of human sacrifice, Jesus was a human sacrifice.
@TheByzAmericanWizard
@TheByzAmericanWizard Жыл бұрын
@@Alfred5555 again. Your claims that it's unverifiable is just that. Your own claims. No the modern scholars didn't say "oh they deserved it." They infact actually state that the witches did nothing wrong with committing these acts. Two you would have to justify how something is "verified" and properly justified. Three. You still said I suffer from cognitive dissonance and "haven't thought critically for 10 min" which is all rhetoric and ad hominem. If you have a problem with Christianity. Then you have to be able to justify HOW you know OBJECTIVE truths and facts that aren't some sort of logical fallacy. I've read some of your comments on here. You seem like you're just looking for a fight. So this is my last comment for you. I don't care what your idea of verification is. I've gone through multiple worldviews in my life and found them all wanting. And yes this will be ad hominem and rhetoric. The fact that you attacked my people's folklore while also trying to use it to bash Christians just shows that you're not interested in protecting other people's folklore, just trying to tear down Christianity. Which is literally where we are today.... Degenerate, "woke", civilization destroying ideologies. Thanks but no thanks.... Have fun with that. Not acknowledging that there is an insane similarity between the rise of Christianity and modern "woke movement" is just stupid. Both argue for equality, not in the same way but still for equality. Numerous saints during Roman time argued that slaves should be allowed in church in the same way nobility is allowed and those classes of people should be treated in the same way. They saw the existing of slavery as some sad part of life, but which nevertheless was bad. Christianity also had put women in better position than pagan cults did. Most of organized religion societies admitted only men for their membership. And of course they did not admit no slaves. What do you think is the easiest "woke" action you can do during the times of total inequality, even in the realm of religion. Obviously, acknowledging that we are the same in the eyes of the God. Code of Theodosius for example gave insane amount of freedom for women at the time, allowed women to: remarry, reclaim her dowry and retain her husband's betrothal gifts if she was abandoned by her husband on grounds of domestic unhappiness. The husband was condemned to perpetual bachelorhood, and if he violated the prohibition both the dowry and betrothal gifts of the new marriage became the property of his first wife. (Based masculine Christianity I guess 😃 ). It's obvious that modern "wokeism" and Christianity share common "spirit" (not in religious sense). I personally see "wokeism" as a set of ideologies united by strive to equality. Catholic Church seem to understand that and go along with it. And, imho, the main reason why Eastern Orthodox churches doesn't do the same is because they are under strong influence of their local governments which are culturally more "traditional" if comparing to their western counterparts. Tbh, I can't see Patriarch Krill saying anything which goes against Russian internal and external political actions.

You provide no arguments. Just misinterpretation of analogies. To be fair to you, you need to read Nietzsche in order to understand the references that Boyo makes. It doesn't matter that Marxism was secular when Boyo compares it to Christianity. The analogy is that both have slave morality at its core. You wouldn't understand that unless you read Nietzsche. The Woke movement is slave morality as well. You can definitely make the comparison with Christianity. However, I understand that a Christian that doesn't like anything Woke might be offended with the comparison.

The Roman Catholic Church of course has hierarchy, strong authority, architecture, art etc etc. But I don't see how art is relevant anyways, there are plenty beautiful poems, buildings and paintings in other religions. You seem to paint the picture that it is the RCC's fault that we have a woke culture now in the west. It's not that simple though. It's probably because the west is a lot wealthier and peaceful making the people bored, depressed, decadent and looking for distractions like hedonism. The other points you made and the way you debunked this joke of a video is on point though. The Roman Empire literally survived for 1000 Years after it became Christian. Btw, the Slur you are using is Based upon Hebrew hating of Jesus the Christ. Julius the Apostate LOVED Hebrew Talmudists

Uberboyo is a great storyteller, and the great irony is, that this video, was christianity romes woke movement, put me on a path that lead me to actual christianity. You are both great youtubers. Maybe a debate or converstaion between you two??

Talk about cope and projection. Ignoring the hilarious ahistorical fiction, everything he arbitrarily prefers because he’s spent too much time being a bitter pseud on 4chan will give us the best society, so that must have been the goal of Christians too. I mean what other goal could there be except material stuff bros? I think you stepped up your editing and rhetoric in this one, great work. Ireland please stop!

I guess it shouldn’t be shocking to see Nihilists completely ignore and re-write history. Who’s the post-modernist again? Nietzsche didn’t understand Christianity. Probably due to his father being a Lutheran pastor. Prayers for Uberboyo and for Nietzsche. ☦️>☠️

thank you for this video brother, i felt a bit frustrated because uberboyo was initially making good points in his introduction, and he was so close but misses the mark completely by the end of his video likening christianity to the modern woke movement.

The video seems like it's meant to be food for thought rather than a reflection of Uberboyo's actual views on Christianity. Then again, I haven't seen many of his video, so I could be wrong.
