I don't know if it is possible now to ask him. But I would have seriously wanted to know if he regrets sometimes that he left Old Gen IITs for an IISER, or leaving a secured life after BTech for his passion in Basic Science. I gave IAT this year and just like Bhaiya I am also having options in the best NITs, some IITs and even in many Govt Medical Colleges. But I am having a childhood dream to pursue science. Now as I stand at a crossroad of my life, I really wanted to know what he thinks on this topic. It would be almost like asking my future self if the decision I took would bring regrets. If possible, please let Charbak Bhaiya read this. I would be waiting for a reply. 😊

If you are too passionate about science then you can definitely choose a research Institute like iisc Or IISER otherwise so with the crowd.

Most of the students think that if they are interested in Class 11, 12 Phy, Maths then they will take research but they don't know curriculum in BS-MS is different that you study in JEE like in Maths you have to proof the statements. Its not like calculation kar liye and all like in JEE. Second type of students are those who see some movie or a scientist & want to be like them. But grass is not always greener the other side. It is not 20th century when there was a wave of scientists. Currently all the basics things has been discovered, now you need to carry on further more advanced research like you have to start from the point where those scientists have left. You have to get big brain than Einstein to think beyond where Einstein has left. In other words, currently the research is very slow.

@@srv6148 hey! That was my original preference. But I learnt of the space science research department in Kolkata, so that's my first choice now. But TVM is my second choice, because of the advanced material science research. We might end up being batchmates too.

IISERs are one of the best in the country for research. And there are many opportunities in iISERs but if he is just looking for a job then he must join any of those top 7 iits.

Generally the obc cut off of IISER TVM goes very high. But you have a good chance for bhopal and tirupati.
