You're courageous and good wishes to you. I am living in US during the past 4 years... There are serious issues living in USA. This is applicable for those who moved here during the past 5-6 years. VISA issues, Healthcare costs, High inflation during the past 3 years, High cost of college education, Lack of jobs in IT for those from tier-2 universities in US specially Indian kids (Ivy league and another 10 universities are the first tier), Lack of good family holiday attractions (in total there are just 5-6 like Grand canyon and Niagara falls), High costs of house maintenance (constant repairs), Many practical problems that you will come to know only after you move here. In India one can tour to old attractions like Hampi, Ellora, and another 100 such places or the new attractions like Ayodhya, Kevadia, etc.

I had similar path 20yrs back. Very happy to stay back in US in my prime . I have worked both in India and US. I hate the toxic culture in India .I came from Lower middle class , having a complete meal was luxury for me and my family back then . Got into top most engg college in India in merit . Money was my priority back then. Took care of my parents and my family and enough to retire by 50 . I miss my friends and family in India . I will be retiring in 5 yrs and I plan to settle in India and visit US as I have friends and family here too. It’s individual preference and your decision is based on your priority in life . There is not a right or wrong decision I believe . Do I regret staying back in US - Not at all . I am sure you made the right decision for your situation .Good luck

In many cases PhD’s can find good opportunities in India in universities or start their companies. But problems of pollution, traffic, and education of children later in life will come to you.

The US has tremendous contempt for expertise and always has. Most talented Americans don't go into technical fields, but are more likely to go into banking. I run a tech startup, and most of our employees are Asian because there are no Americans in the job pool. We are very happy to have our employees, but it underscores the contempt Americans have for science and tech.

Couple of things - I am working in Northamerica for 35 years I agree with most of items execept forllowing 1. To Startup in US is much more difficult in US and especially for Indians - with our brown skins - we are not successful in selling which is needed for startup Therefore most of startups Indians pair with americans. You might end up giving up huge part to your american partners. 2. For Indian Females - I think it is better to be in India as there are servants in India compared to house work. My wife always complains about it. 3. Working in India versus US - There are better job growth opportunities in India than US market as US market is mature. Also don't minimize the stress of getting Green Card and losing of job - job security in US.

Love the video. And love the detailed explanation of each point. I do think india has a lot to offer. One has to however highlight that the lack of availability of good public infrastructure including general cleanliness and air pollution is a major problem. The dishonesty of people in everyday tasks and rudeness are not small things. Another major factor is not having enough respect as a female. This makes women who are strong in technical skills avoid building anything there. Playing the green card game is definitely like that of being a second class citizen but this is also how women feel in India because they have to rely on male friends and family for everything; from going out to getting things done in government offices.

Well done bro!!! To survive in India one should be in top one percent in academics, IIT, MITs, IIMs etc.... As you are in top one percent you can survive easily. How about others 99%? every one will not fall in the top on percent. Rest 99% are struggling with unemployment, though employed, working in a toxic work culture, working on weekends and holidays. Many will be laid off once they reach 40. Thus, many choosing to migrate, though not to USA, but to Canada, UK, Germany, AUS, NZ. It is always better to migrate, not only for better jobs, but also for a better quality of life, health benefits, children's safety, and social security benefits (not to US).

With green card you cannot come back anytime. There is a limit of how many days you can be physically outside US on green card. If you stay too long, green card is considered abandoned
