I agree with this dude right here! I got the respect too. I rock a 19 Impreza Sport sedan, nothing fancy, basic not a lot of tech but great AWD and reliable...... but I have wanted to mod it as well, maybe a turbo, maybe nameless axel back for that subi rumble. no I'm not gunna win any races etc but as long as were happy and enjoy our rides thats all that matters.

This is what being a car enthusiast is all about. It’s not always what car that you have to get you going on such a unique journey but it’s more often than not that it’s what you do with it. Car culture is for everybody who love the many different varieties that the lifestyle may cater towards. Some of us love antiques or vintage or classics, others love the aesthetics or mechanical elements of a car or the ability to communicate and interact with others. It’s always been a pleasure to share these pleasures of live with each other. We all drive the same road but in the end it’s not always leading us to the same destination and that alone makes it worth the inspiration to take the step forward to stray from the common path and it’s okay to pave our own paths. I can’t speak for others but I can say I’m proud and happy for you and your Corolla build. Follow your heart and you’ll never lose your way.

These are the type of cars I would like to see over typical common car builds like the Supra, Skyline, Corvettes, and others. These guys are the better group of the car scene, because they are willing to get creative on cars with lack of aftermarket support (or an abundant support) and build awesome builds of less popular or everyday cars. Like Tony the tiger's Camry, or that mid engine Eclipse or Neo's AWD 4th gen Eclipse. There's also a Corolla similar to this build from South America (I think) who has put over 600 HP many years ago.

I'll never understand why people stance sports cars. Besides making your car look stupid, you're taking the *one* thing sports cars are good at (going fast), and ruining it by not letting your tires grip the ground properly. Not to mention the fact that you can never go over a speed bump ever again. Somebody please explain to me why anyone would stance their vehicle, other than the fact that they're young, dumb, and don't think things through before doing them.

There is a grey area like all things in life..... I won't respect a build that chops and ruin's a minty survivor that should have been appreciated for what it is.... Any build that is built for attention or for other peoples reactions instead of for yourself. Certain car cultures like the Sema restormods, RWB, stance, ViP, bozosuku, donk, bro truck, etc are all gaudy to varying degrees and I find them disgusting..... As a vintage motorsports enthusiast I don't care for your modded s2000, I believe that car came perfect from the factory and it's flaws give it character.... What I find interesting are the builds that are different not typically done.( Like this video)... Finding a good detail of a undesired car and exploiting it. Like the Toyota XRS with the 2zz high rever and rear double wishbone, or any VW with that glorious sounding 07k engine.........

Yeah, my family never had manual cars, it wasn’t popular when I was learning to drive 10 years ago! And exactly speed doesn’t always mean fun. I didjt wanna touch my car cuz I didn't have confidence but I said if I don't do it with this one I won't ever dare to on another and I want mine to look alittle different even if it's not a "great car" but I can say it's brought me to the doctors and back when my mom owned it and I had cancer at 13, coolest thing about it is I get to be it's second driver, and give it a second life and new purpose.this was the car that got me to the hospital day or night, fog or clear, snowing or dry. I'm going to be so sad when this car eventually goes but for what it's worth I've had so many fun times with friends, gotten even more attached to it though modding and I feel the same way as him, it's a lame amazing cool uncool car.

Honda civics were the cheapest entry level basic person car. Still kinda are but people modify them. A corolla is pretty much in the same boat but people havnt tested its potential. If you have a passion to work on cars and have fun, you can use whatever you want. Sadly everyone is so judgemental and want to put others down. Honestly I think more "basic cars" should be looked at too not just sports cars and super cars. People talk about wasting money on that kind of car but arent we all wasting money on cars in general instead of saving for family, emergencies, the apocalypse (yes because its fun). I do see other peoples point of why a corolla but at the same time its his decision and thats what makes him happy.

I think its awesome you learned to drive manual and modified your car to make it more fun. I started with a old base Mitsubishi Eclipse and modified it since it was what I could afford at the time. It was fun but the best part was that I learned a lot. Fast forward 20 years and now I have 7 cars and a full shop with a lift to continue the fun!

Dude I had a 2003 and 2004 Toyota Echo and those were honestly some of the most fun cars I ever owned. Every time I see one out in the wild it brings back the best memories. It's rare to be able to ring out 3rd gear in something and not be driving at an extremely dangerous speed. I could bomb around in that thing and bang gears, the entire time not driving like an absolute maniac on public streets. Not to mention it got like 45mpg. I think with a Turbo it would have been wheelspin city but I 100% understand the appeal of an economy Toyota, and the great driving experience it can be. Rock on man

For me I found interest in modding my corolla when I replaced my headlight casen. It was the first time I took something off on my car. Then I found your channel and started to try modding my car a lil bit more. My parents complained to me and still is because I found an interest in mechanics and I like the sport car look. I mean they can complain because they bought my corolla but at least support me. So this February when I found another job and I found an interest in other sport vehicles like sport bikes and other motorcycles. They are cheaper than used cars at the moment and they have Manuel transmissions. My parents discourage me from mostly everything in my interest besides my welding trade and honestly it makes me feel like I'm here for nothing. I have the money to get what I want. Its just my parents discourage me from anything I find interesting. I appreciate you and your channel. You gave me confidence and the motivation to start learning about mechanics and other types of stuff dealing with cars. I respect you for what you do.💪💯
@BrandonStellmach
@BrandonStellmach Жыл бұрын
That’s exactly how it started for me, I slowly started to do things and after doing the first couple mods, it encouraged me to try more in depth and advanced things on my car. And lead all the way up to a turbo install. Seems your parents must look down on mechanics being a good job. And must want something better. But learning how to work on cars will save you thousands of dollars in the future when it comes to car repairs. It’s a great thing to know, might not be the best career path, but it’s a good to have general car knowledge so either you can fix it yourself, or at least diagnose it yourself so you don’t get ripped off at dealerships.

I have a similar car as you: 2009 LE Corolla with 4 speed automatic. It's a very important car to me and one that I wouldn't be able to let go of even if I got a better car. I've been getting into cars recently and your videos have really inspired me to personalize my Corolla, even if it is in small ways. I'm currently prioritizing paying off student loans but I can still do the cheap and easy car mods along the way. I hope that I'll be able to gain the confidence and knowledge to do the more complicated stuff as time goes on.

My Corolla is very similar to yours except I have not done any mods mainly because it’s my beater car…it belonged to my parents they bought it with 80k miles on it and then they sold it to me when it had 160k ..at the moment it has 322k original engine and trans…literally a bulletproof car..I’ve done mainly brakes and alternator and a few sets of tires ..it’s been the best car I’ve owned..I will buy it again 1000 times again…absolutely love it…my goal is to get it to 1 million miles but if I make it to 500k miles I’ll be a happy camper..cheers great build 👍🏻
