Father, I do pray that I will go to heaven. I do pray that I will know how to bring others to our Lord. I grew up in a household living in fight or flight mode. It taught me that I have to look out for myself, therefore I do pray for me to become a better person to be able to bring others to our lord. I’m just afraid I’m not enought

You are enough and you are a child of God. He loves you so much and especially if you were in a abusive home. God knows your struggles. He doesn't expect you to be perfect overnight. Rest in God and in his peace. He is not a task master. I was abused too. God understands your pain. It takes time for emotional healing. Keep praying. Do you have kids? The way you feel towards them is like how he feels towards you.

It wasn't the season for figs. Why would Jesus curse a tree for not producing fruit, it wasn't supposed to produce fruit at that time?

@@FrLarryRichards wow, thanks. I really respect and enjoy father Larry. But I think he's wrong here, on many points and on the purpose of the story. Also he calls the Fig Tree cursing a parable. It isn't. It's a real story and a real thing that happened.

Here is the correct & historical meaning of this event. There were 2 political parties, one was called the 'Figtree' and the other party was called the 'Vineyard'. The Figtree party wanted war with Rome, and the Vineyard party wanted peace. In addition to the missions of the Essenes and the ruling Herods, there was another mission in Rome. This was the one called the 'Figtree'. From 4BC, the disputes about the Herodian succession that had been fought out in Rome between the brothers Archaelaus and Antipas had led to a splitting of Herodian loyalties. Antipas must have established a different house, & the mission that continued from his house continued to be hostile to the ruling Herods. This mission which looked to the Therapeuts of Egypt rather than to Palestinian Essenes for its ascetic discipline was called the Figtree because Therapeuts did not drink wine and were skilled in the medical arts. The Vineyard & the Figtree were associated but had separate organizations. As a parable in Luke says, 'A figtree was planted in a vineyard'. Simon Magus was a subsequent leader of the Zealot Figtree mission, closely associated with the tetrarch Antipas. On Monday, March 2d, 33AD, Jesus went to the temple treasury (in Qumran) at the time for money collection. No fulfillment has occurred for those expecting a Restoration at SS3969 (1st position, Samaritan 31st). Jesus says it is because of the financial corruption and overturns the furniture for the banking system. The next day was March 3. When there was no fulfillment at the regular 31st, Jesus attacks the Herodian form of mission, including that of the tetrarch, the Figtree. When he 'cursed the Figtree', he was condemning their financial exploitations, zealot ambitions and their methods which were compromising the mission, & he expelled them.

Would this parable also mean if we don't harness our God given talents it will be taken away ?
