I thought chloe said early on that the kryptonite had weird effects on things, and maybe even people. Meaning that the radiation isn't there it's been absorbed by the human host to produce the effect of giving them an ability. A trade off.

I always think that the Kryptonite has to be super obvious that it's there for Clark to be able to detect it... except with the case of Earl in Jitters where the Kyptonite is hidden in his body yet somehow Clark's senses it strongly. There are some inconsistencies with the Kryptonite thing but sometimes we just have to go along with it for a great plot line sometimes. Lol

Guess Clark and Lex finally resolved their friendship 😅😂. Man growing up watching Smallville it broke my heart that the friendship ended I just rewatched it up to season 7 within 5 days and I literally cryed.

The thing that always bugged me on the show is how sometimes the kryptonite like completely took Clark out, can’t use his powers or anything and someone would have to save him by removing him or the kryptonite from the area….and then other times it’s like he gets a little sick but he can still move and speed away or use his heat vision 😂Anyone else notice that??

there’s a whole episode where the main conflict is exacerbated by blue kryptonite being absorbed into people’s bloodstream which sort of serves that point but also it’s said in that episode that it was after years of constant exposure and ingestion. maybe twenty years down the line, the big guy would be unapproachable by clark but while these abilities are still new the green kryptonite isn’t as effective

That is a very good point. Here’s a great counterpoint. The white kryptonite is assimilated into each individuals biology works differently. Therefore it is not directly nor indirectly affected. It would have to be power based kryptonite individual OK then utilize the same source of her tonight within their biology and expelling throughout their body in some type of way. Kryptonite LazarBeam. Kryptonite teleporting. Kryptonite Smith kryptonite breath. I would have to be some form of gas water or heat based source of kryptonite as a Projects off upon someone else. And in that sense Clark would definitely be in danger.

The funny thing is during the entire ten-year run not once did I think that green kryptonite would be running through people's bloodstream. My thinking was that the kryptonite only affected their DNA in giving them powers I never cared about annalizing everything about the show I just wanted to be entertained. The only thing I annalized was Lana's behavior on the show like why is Lana running a coffee shop at 14 or 15 when she couldn't handle being a waitress at the beanery? How did Lana master karate after a week of offscreen training? (As a long practitioner of marital arts of nearly 27 years that really offended me). How did Lana walk away scott free from killing people in season 4 but Lex gets arrested I think in the season six finale as a suspect for killing Lana.

Actually you are right. The kryptonite gives off radiation that affects DNA. Get exposed to dangerous toxins or radiation and it can effect your years later after exposure. Think about how people who survived 9/11 have cancer years later.

It just activates their meta gene. There are several instances in other media where Kryptonite activates powers, even influence them, but it’s not actually kryptonite powered. It’s like how you can have the gene for diabetes and go your whole life without it and then if you start eating tons of crappy food you turn on that gene. There are several other means of activating a meta gene in DC. In the Young Justice universe the meta gene actually comes from Vandal Savage who got his mutation from a meteor (might have been kryptonite now that I think about it). After centuries upon centuries he had a son who founded Atlantis and when it was sunk it activated the Meta gene in them that created the Atlantean race. Also in that series a substance called TAR was used to activate powers in kids and then send them to be used as soldiers in Darkseid’s army. But before that alien experimentation created a whole generation of meta humans.

It’s because they may be infected with kryptonite but they don’t have kryptonite inside them. The kryptonite only gave them powers but it’s not like the rock ever went inside them. My point being, the kryptonite isn’t physically inside the infected people

It is unknown what it would do to an already homosexual Kryptonian, although one could assume it would render them heterosexual. This type of Kryptonite only made one appearance in comics and was used as a satire of the plots of Silver Age comic stories featuring some strange new form of Kryptonite

No actually because when kryptonite was introduced to animals and things then those kryptonite infected animals are introduced to human then Superman/Clark is not effected due to the fact that the kryptonite is in such a micro dose that it's not harmful to Clark/Superman.

But they literally use the example of Clarke being affected by bugs that have been mutated by Kryptonite as the reason for their questioning of why in other cases Clarke isn’t affected by mutated animals/people

Why did he never throw on a lead suit and make it his duty to rid smallville of it all? EVERY episode had it in there so he couldn't just handle the situation without help. Binge watch and you'll see. Also you'll come to HATE the opening theme song. I know I did

Yeah maybe create a lead vest, gloves, or anything that might help to reduce the Kryptonite's effect on him 🤔 Never thought of that. He used his red jacket thing one time to grab hold of Kryptonite bomb to remove it from a building so... maybe he hasn't thought of making things yet? Never suspected Clark to be a 'get geared up' type of guy all because he relies so much on his powers to save others and defend him yet don't do jack when it comes to his weak points. I can't count the number of times, his 'getting weak' has gotten not just him in trouble but also his parents and friends nearly getting killed in the process.

I think that's the cool thing about Smallville unlike the comics, movies kryptonite can effect human beings....think how boring the show be if no one was ever effected by kryptonite?
