The biggest issue with Gelo is he plays like a stretch 4, but with the height of a guard. Both his brothers has agility, quickness, and creative court vision that allows them to thrive at the point. Ppl keeping saying it was what happened in China that made him fail but it actually was his father taking him out of UCLA. Yeah they suspended him so what . Lavar acted like his son wasn’t supposed to face any disciplinary action from the team & get to play immediately lol Lavars ego was the sole reason Liangelo failed to reach the heights of his brothers . I feel bad for him cause the odds were already stacked against him considering the fact that he was already the least athletic, shortest, & not as quick off the dribble as his two brothers . So he really needed the extra time in college to develop his game more . But couldn’t cause his father thought he was league ready smh just laughable

When were any of the Ball Brothers loved by the media... they got bashed everywhere they went. Liangelo stole those glasses and that was it for him, he needed his game to speak for him like the other brothers and his game is weak, so the people switched up on him narrative you're trying to play isn't flying.
@MikeKorzemba

Mostly fair but only thing I disagree with is that the Ball Bros were definitely loved at first and Lonzo was loved all the way until his tough first few seasons with the Lakers. People turned on Gelo and LaMelo after the HS cherry picking stuff though yeah

It's simple. The Ball family genes seem to be ideal for a certain body type and playing style. Gelo whether he knew it or not went against the grain, while Melo and Lonzo took what their genes gave them. If Gelo went the slim build, crafty guard route like his brothers, he would probably be in the league too. The way he's built now, he would've been better off playing football as a tight end.

He made a dumb decision and deserves all the consequences that comes with it but I respect anyone willing to chase their dream I hope for nothing but the best and want to see his efforts rewarded. He doesn't need to make the NBA to be successful it doesn't seem likely but just becoming a solid rotation piece in a respectable league overseas would be great

I have to say…around 9:30 you talked about liangelis first two g league games and how he played really well, then began to sa6 he failed because he wasn’t consistent… liangelo got like 3 minutes that third game, and never got consistent minutes after that, after having a great start… it wasn’t that he wasn’t consistent, his m8nutes weren’t consistent

His minutes weren't consistent cuz he wasn't bro. Realistically if he was playing on an actual team he'd at best be rotational so if he can't be good in limited minutes who would ever sign him to a real deal

He even challenged his father (getting the tattoos ect) Lonzo was too scared of Lavarr (but he first born so thats normal ,the first born always got the stricter upbringing, The youngest one had it easy 2 big brothers ect that why he the wildest Liangelo got a little of both

I have a hard time call someone that has played professional basketball a fail. He had a 10 day contract with an NBA team. You know how few players can say that. He will probably end up having a good pro career. His biggest issues is he is a player that he is an undersized for the position he should be playing in the NBA. If not for his stupidity and a little bad luck with injuries. I think he might have had a chance at a 3 and D type guy coming off the bench. Now he is probably more of an over seas pro.
