I learned from someone who spent enormous time collecting 19th century stories and about villager men having signature moustache waxes with their personal scents, so it made easier to sneak in their love interest's room at night and make easier to recognize in the dark. Actually true or not, that's a genious idea 😆😆 Sadly, a common theme aganist facial hair is criticizing men actually spending time to take care of it (like it's the vanity itself) and also at some places just simply labelled as 'unprofessional'. But, like who dosen't want to work with Gomez Addams?

Once again, here is a woman's opinion on the mustache! I like some facial hair on a man. For instance, I prefer seeing Preston with a closely trimmed full beard and mustache to his clean shaven look. Thankfully, your facial hair will grow back, so you can experiment with different mustache styles for the classic menswear look you want to achieve. Personally, I enjoy well groomed facial hair on some men. The only drawback is kissing a man who has facial hair. Well, there you go gents! Have a great week! Great job on your first video! I apologize, as I can't remember your name. Thank you for a job well done, and I look forward to seeing you in future videos on the Gentleman's Gazette KZbin channel! Lisa

Great video as always! Just a little rectification for this part 1:14 : the Italian word “mostaccio” means face and derives from the late Latin word “mustaceum”, the late Greek word “μουστάκιον” and the classic Greek word “μύσταξ-ακος”. The meanings of all these ancient words are upper lip or “baffi” that in Italian means moustache. Also, I know that you have a schedule for when a video will be released but this one would have been perfect before November so more gentlemen would have participated to the Movember, but we have always the next year 😉

I often don a mustache these days, and usually get a lot of compliments on it. I wear it in a pencil style and with my thick dark hair I get a lot of "You look like Clark Gable" comments, but I don't wear it as thin as he did. My style is fairly classic/vintage in appearance so I find it suits the look.

I take pride in maintaining a Chevron mustache, kept meticulously between a 7 and 9 mm length. I ensure it’s neatly trimmed along the lip line for a sharp look. The rest of my facial hair receives a precise straight razor shave, which not only enhances the prominence of the mustache but also ensures a clean, sophisticated appearance. This style particularly complements a 3-day stubble, adding a touch of ruggedness while maintaining a refined look. The daily compliments I receive are a testament to a mustache’s appeal

I shaved off my mustache when I was being criticized at my job for having a negative, uncooperative attitude, when all I was doing was thinking intently about what people were saying to me -- they just misconstrued the look on my face. Someone the. pointed out that the mustache added to a frowning look by drawing down the corners of my mouth -- so I then immediately shaved off the mustache. When I explained this to my boss -- the church's pastor -- he said that he made the same decision when at a previous church he heard people refer to him as "the sinister minister."

Thick facial hair around the lips is unhygienic as food bits and food liquids get caught up in between and bacteria starts to spread. Maybe that's why the word bad smell in Italian. A moustache above the upper lip such as a pencil moustache is more hygienic and very stylish. The pencil moustache would be the only one I would sport. The most sophisticated and classy.🎉🎉🎉

In my opinion, I think beards and mustaches are simply manly. For a long time I've had a mustache. Then about 8 years ago I grew a goatee. I may go with a full beard before long. When my band started getting big, I was still under 21, and was losing gig opportunities for being underage. I started growing a mustache because my overall facial hair was still patchy, and soon rarely ever got carded. I kept it for about 2 years, then ended up joining the Navy and keeping the mustache whenever I lost my shave chit (shaving waiver). Now that I'm bald and already look well over 40 at just 31, I probably won't wear just a mustache ever again. My beard comes in nice, and I look awful without facial hair, so unless they come out with a way to regrow head hair, bye bye mustache!

Personally I think a big problem for men is finding a moustache that suits them. I'm far more likely to see a guy with a moustache that doesn't look right than a full beard, which is very hard to go wrong with. I don't know if it's just that they don't have the right style of moustache, or if I'd think that regardless of style. But I admit I'm biassed towards full beards. I was surrounded by them growing up; my dad, my step dad, a lot of their friends.

First time i grew out my facial hair was back in late '17 when i had just turned 16 years old. Made a heavy as heck statement for a 16 year old to have hippie - like facial hair. I kept hirsute throught '18 and got shaved and a haircut (Long hair back then) in late '18. Then through the first half of '19 i wore the clean look. And in fall of that year, around October, i started growing it back and i wore a 'stache in winter that year until early '20. And quite frankly, i hadn't fully developed a proper facial hair amount so i started shaving around 3 times a week all throught the quarantine and all the way until '21. I am now planning to get it back but i still have a hard time deciding the style i want. Definitely a heavy 'stache, but i don't know if to shave my beard or on the other side, to keep it, or to have sideburns along the stache. Something around the 1970's fashion would be nice. Greetings

I sport a mustache nowadays, sometimes I'll give it a clean shave but I keep going back too it. Not very many people my age these days have one so I stand out which I don't mind. I've always preferred sticking out. I play with my face too much to grow a beard. I have transparent white-ish hair on my philtrum so I have a natural split mustache, I still shave my philtrum to clean it up in that area a little bit.I don't personally associate the mustache negatively, the first thing I think of when I think about men with mustaches are Jeff Foxworthy or Mario. Most importantly I sport the mustache because I genuinely like it. It gives my face personality while still being approachable and comfortable. Not as many work places have a problem with mustaches as much as beards, especially a well groomed mustache. Even the workplaces that say you have to shave, generally let you get away with a mustache or stubble.

For the last 10 years plus, I have had a moustache, however only for the last 7-9 years has it been very prominent. My wife likes the way it looks, people react more positively than negatively to it, and I have to admit, it is fun when a barber drops everything to yell "Epic moustache!" as I enter their barber shop. Styling a moustache is not hard, and I will style from an imperial, to a hungarian, to an english style depending on my mood. Some times even going a little freestyle with it.

If you have refined features, facial hair will only detract from your looks. Elvis would not have looked good at all with a moustache. Selleck looks good because the area under his nose is a little too wide, kind of a longer mid face region, and the mustache hides it.
