Ohio State lost this game because Ryan Day played too conservatively. He was afraid to lose to interm coach.

Michigan fan here. I think Day has had the disadvantage of playing against three of the best UM teams we’ve had in years compared to what Urban’s teams played against. Definitely strong up front. I think the Buckeyes showed how good they were when they almost beat a great Georgia team last year. Michigan will definitely lose some talent this off season too. If OSU struggles next year then Day might be in trouble. He’s better than Franklin for sure.

Even as a buckeye, i picked Michigan this week because i didnt trust McCord in this game and buckeye fans trashed me about the pick on KZbin live chats. Now they ignore me because i was right. McCord was too inconsistent being a one read qb that he was easy to pick off. There's plenty of other mistakes but honestly turnovers are how you lose big games.

Michigan owes their O-lineman who got hurt and took one for the team, an early Christmas present. That changed the momentum of the game. Michigan played a better game. Of course, McCord's play continues to suck and he should NOT be leading our team. As much as I like Day, I am disappointed in him and his lack of in-game adjustments. He refuses to go for the jugular. We continue to disappoint. We had their D on the ropes. We were chewing up ground yardage, and finished with a score. Those guys were tough and hard to block. Our Defense played an excellent game. The offense didn't reciprocate.
@Bowhunterohio6 ай бұрын
Really. I felt Michigan had the momentum darn near the whole game. I just wasn’t impressed with my team and I felt the quarterback made some bad decisions. That first interception should never have been thrown. The last interception should never have been thrown but mistakes happen and he is in his first year as a starter. Not to many quarterbacks have went undefeated and won a national title their first year. I like Day but I felt he could have done a better job. In my opinion it goes back to the quarterback though not the coach. Look how Joe Burrow went to LSU when they wasn’t the best looking team out there. In his second year there he took them to a national title and was untouchable. He leaves and look at where they are now. A good quarterback plays a huge role in leading a team to a title.
@MattCellaneous6 ай бұрын
Michigan fan here, it was an extremely tight game. If that interception doesn't happen at the end, when it was 25 seconds and 39 yards to go, only six points down, OSU could have still found a way to come back and win that game. To be up by less than a touchdown, against one of the best teams in the country, on the last drive of the game while they're driving down the field is as close as it gets. The score really doesn't tell the tale of how tight it was. GO BLUE🥂

When are My fellow Buckeye fans going to understand......Michigan practices all day and all night running the ball, they recruit talent built to run the ball...its what they do and do amazing! WHY in the heck would we try to go to their expertise and do it better when every single year we recruit the best WR's in the country!!! When we were on our streak of dominance we were throwing for 500's every time!! This is absolutely ludicrous to say we should play the EXACT game they want us to...?
@terryritter70656 ай бұрын
True, but CJ got his yards last year with one of the best receiving cores college football has ever seen and that didn't work, either. I was waiting for the Buckeyes to start throwing the ball because Michigan wasn't getting good enough pressure on McCord and, though not last year's squad, OSU's receivers are still lights out (and were proving it). I would say the throw and catch from the endzone on 3rd and long when McCord was about to get sacked was pretty impressive.
@bryankarst38816 ай бұрын
@@terryritter7065 I agree man. We can all dance around it but the answer to every single issue is we now have an average QB, when for 10 years straight we have had Superstars at QB. Even this team is supposed to QB'd by Quinn Ewers!! With him we would be the best team in CFB, no question!

Ryan Day is now 0-4 in the last 3 years in games against big-boy teams. I'm not saying he's a horrible coach. I'm sure he'll be a nice hire for a G5 team or even a lower-level P5 team. Indiana, for example, would be very happy to have him. But, just like John Cooper, Ryan Day isn't good enough to be the coach at OHIO STATE. He's not an elite-level coach, and when you are an elite-level program, you need an elite-level coach.

Absolutely, in past years we had QB’s who were Quick, agile and fast….sadly Kyle doesn’t measure up to his former QB’s. Look how Stroud is doing with the Bears…multidimensional it’s is the key ingredient, and why the OSU scouts overlooked that factor is anybody’s guess…I feel sorry for Kyle just like last year when Ruggles hit that duck hook field goal…from Kyles first interception to his last, he didn’t seem to bring his A-Game to the field…but hey, it’s easy h t o critique from a sky box, but totally different down on the turf…I wish the team better luck next year…I regret too the loss of our OC who went to Texas when Urban left. Also, can anyone tell why Urban left for medical reasons, and winds up coaching in the Pro’s??
@someguy62126 ай бұрын
He left Florida for medical reasons. He "retired" from OSU but he was basically forced out behind the scenes. The AD and admins didn't publicly support him during the media storm from his assistant coach's domestic issues. The media played that up so bad when it had nothing to do with coach Meyer. I was upset at how he was treated.

McCord is not the caliber QB needed at a top program like OSU. That being said they were still in the game and had a cuance to win. The missed pass interference call on Michigan's kast drive was huge. It gave them a first down instead of a punt. I hate to blame the refs but you have to admit that was an obvious bad missed call at a crucial time that definitely changed the game. The TD/interception was questionable as well. If donors from Michigan are going to orchestrate a sign stealing program then could it also be possible to pay off the officials? There was also a pass caught by Michigan on the sidelines where the receiver clearly landed on the out of bouds before the ball even got there and the official who was right there staring right at the play with the best possible angle just happened to call it a catch and the play was reviewed and rightfully overtirned because the evidence was too strong fix the play in Michigan's favor. When games are fixed all that is needed is certain missed calls or favorable calls at cruciial moments in the game. One sign this is also happening is when they make a few obvious bad calls against the favorable team at insignificant times to try and make it look like the bad calls went both ways. That also happened. Yes regardless of this OSU still had chances and blew it but the college game is emotional and momentum is crucial and the refs know this so at times the obvious plays are reveied to stop the momentum and let the defense gather and prepare. On OSU last drive they had the defense on the run after a catch, funble, and recovery then they hustled to the line for the next play and Michigan D was struggling to get set then the officials call time to review the obvious play that didn't need reviewed. On that same note there were a few very questionable first downs by Michigan that didn't get reviewed at all after they simply gave them a favorable spot. I also remember an Ohio State reception that looked like it was very close to the fist down line and the replay showed a great angle and the officials placed the ball almost a while yard short and that one didn't get revied either. Anyone who is paying attention realizes that there are games being fixed in college and the NFL especially with all the money in Vegas and television. But when anyone points out the obvious they are frowned at and ridiculed for blaming the refs. Its obvious we live in a very corrupt world especially on the political side of things and you think that with all the money in sports that there is no way games are attempted to be fixed?
