Let’s be real, Obi Wan is a real one. Obi Wan took out 2 of his apprentices and General Grievous. Obi Wan is capable and dangerous. Palpatine was confident in his own power, but not in Vaders ability towards Obi Wan. Yoda and Obi Wan vs Vader and Palpatine is a dub for the Jedis. I haven’t read the comics only the movies. Also Obi Wan and Yoda were not ambitious, so they didn’t pose a threat to his political power. He knew they weren’t vengeful so they wouldn’t hunt him down. What’s the point in seeking out a fight you could lose if they weren’t willing to bring it to him.

That's a good enough explanation I suppose. Personally, I would have preferred their duel end with Kenobi being buried. Thereby convincing Vader he was dead, thus ending the search. Maybe Obi Wan does almost die. You could have still gotten the moment where he breaks his helmet, just beforehand. This would have also given Vader the belief that he won. Even so, I'm still happy with what we got and it is nice to see Obi Wan take a victory, since he is fated to die by Vader's hand.

I was really hoping for a second season of Kenobi where Kenobi had his rivalry with Maul and Vader has a rivalry with a surviving and pissed off Windu. That way they don’t have to interact again but can still both be involved.

Sidious wanted Vader as far as possible from Obiwan because he could not control the outcome. Sidious is an tactic master mind that could even benefit from a lose or failing of others. But Kenobi beated Vader before and could possible kill him.. That would made him without apprentice and even while he thought Vader failed him there was no one that was able to replace him. Also Vader was still a powerful and not replacable tool to hunt surviving Jedi and rebels. He was also very popular with imperial troopers. Another option for Sidious was that Obiwan maybe could turn Vader back

OB1 really screwed up going with padme instead of going with Yoda. Seeing OB1, enraged Anakin and allowed Vader to take over. Also, Yoda and OB1 could’ve beat Sidious together. There was no need for OB1 to rush to Anakin.

The real reason why Palpatine let Obi-Wan live was because he had to alive in A New Hope because of continuty. But let's be real, Obi-Wan took down Palpatine apprentice Darth Maul twice. He kicked Vader's ass twice. He killed General Grevious. He made sure that Anakin's offspring (Luke) would become a Jedi to take down The Empire.

The whole point of the story is that Vader would finally see his old enemy decades later in a new hope, making the final meeting more emotional. Also, Vader could've never lost to obi wan (especially when obi "somehow" lost the force and immediately got it back..) because he clearly became more powerful if you look at the lore and comics.. This show and disney star wars is such a joke that i can't take it seriously anymore. Legends is more canon than this inconsistent crap.
