Yep. A donation is a gift freely given without the expectation of anything in return. e.g. If I donate something to my local charity shop or food bank I don't expect some kind of kickback. Which is hardly the case with Tory donors. They want government contracts, policies adjusted in their favour, a seat in the lords, etc in return for their money. These are clearly legalised bribes NOT donations and I wish people would call them what they are. Now there's an argument that it's almost impossible to stop bribery and so it's better to have it out in the open and via a set of rules, but lets not call them anything except what they are.

She did the very minimum as a reservist for a short time. The RN, like all the services have had the same treatment as the public sector under them. So her seat is more vulnerable for that reason too. Rayner’s brother served in Iraq, she has described herself as hardcore on defence, security and veterans affairs.
