They weren't the only ones. Unohana and Hitsugaya were also against the execution. Hitsu was going to appeal to Central 46. Some others were just indifferent. Zaraki was outright aiding the ryokas. Mayuri didn't gaf. These 2 were simply the only ones to attempt a hands-on method of stopping the execution.

He made a solemn vow to his parents grave that he would never break the law or bring dishonor again. So the whole ordeal was eating him up inside, which is why after Aizen’s plans were revealed, Byakuya ran back and saved rukia from Gin’s attack. There’s a short talking about it on this channel

Or they dind't even read it in the first place, because it's "obviously sooo bad" and Kubo can't do character writing, world building or anything else for that matter. I always have to think about the bleach review "The Problem With Bleach" from mothers basement. Geoff explains how he came to the conclusion that bleach (the anime) was bad back then as it aired in the first place, tjust to finally put all his prejudices aside to read the manga with an open mind. He expected something mediocre at best, but found one (it could even be "the" one, it's hard to tell. If it's true, he just can't say that on his channel without instigating a war... Seriously. He chose his wording very wisely.) of his all time favourite shonen battle mangas. To quote him: "I was completely blown away!", "you NEED to read that manga!" and "It is, in fact, THAT deep bro!" xD I love this video. They saved her bc it was obvious from the start that the execution wasn’t right. First of all, Rukia was to be executed at the Sogyoku, where Captain level shinigami were executed (bc Kiko-o is the power of a million zanpakuto, as such was needed for high powered folks) and Rukia was an unseated officer, it wasn’t necessary to execute her that way (overkill, much?) And, her crime was mild compared to her punishment. She gave her powers to a human, and originally would have spent time in prison. The execution was a surprise.

In hindsight, when you think about the quincy invasion (tybw) vs the ryōka invasion (ss), ichigo and friends just wanted to save rukia’s life while the quincy…. 😂😂😂

I like how there was all this extra shenanigans attempting to justify it, when the simple fact of the matter is that Ukitake and Kyoraku KNEW the punishment didn't fit the crime, and thus acted to stop it. All the other stuff going on was a separate issue. They take their duty as officers of the Gotai 13 quite seriously, and that means ensuring that their orders are valid before following them. That is where they differ from Yamamoto. Yamamoto says 'C46 said she dies, and C46 is the ruling body', while Shunsui and Juushiro say 'C46 ordered this, but it does not match the existing law on the matter, nor does it make any logical sense, therefore it is not just'. Yoruichi showing up, the Ryoka, the oddities around Aizen, all of that simply caused other suspicion, but it did not influence their decision to do what they could to protect Rukia. I strongly feel that if the actual C46 had not been Aizened, and had given that order, the Gotei would have seen another Visored-tier exodus, given both the attitudes of most the officers, as even among captains (literally, the only ones who were both not traitors and actually supportive of the execution were Yamamoto, Soifon, and Komamura. Zaraki and Kurotsuchi were in the 'don't care beyond how it disrupts out interests' category, Byakuya was HEAVILY conflicted, Toshiro was not on board with it, I don't remember Unohana ever giving an opinion, but I feel she'd be caught between Shunsui and Yamamoto as far as who to support. Then obv the three traitors weer for it.) you had over a third who did not support the punishment. If they did not believe that Rukia's death, especially by Sokyoku, was unwarranted, they would not have intervened to stop her execution.

I also found a good strategy. You simply do "owo fc 1" until you notice *patterns*. You have a 67.7% of succession based on these patterns, for instance if you do "owo fc 1" twice in a row and you win, do "owo fc 1 t" (t which stands for "tails" and h for "heads) and you have a decently good chance of winning. But for example today it didn't work because I got heads 5 times in a row which is just bullshit 😭 Sometimes the bot just WANTS you to lose

Theres also a fan theory that suggested one of these two was Aizen's father...Shunsui had a thing for the ladies, has the same color hair and facial structure, and their abilities are very similar. Aizen would of had to have a pretty powerful parent to have been born with double Reitsu...and Shunsui fits that bill. I think Ukitake knew...and its why before Aizen left Soul Society he confronts him saying have you really become so corrupt, implying he knew Aizen (or thought he did) better then most people...Since these 2 seem to have been closer to Aizen on a personal level, its not too far off to think maybe one of them is actually his father, and Aizen simply has his mothers last name for "appearances" since a high ranking captain would be looked down upon for having illegitimate children, especially ones plotting Soul Society's downfall.
