@diaa jobran hey buddy, I’m all here for an open intellectual dialogue to discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of Islam, but just know there’s no hope of converting me. I’ve got respect for your willingness to actually discuss Islam with an atheist (in the mold of Christopher Hitchens or Sam Harris), in English nonetheless. Obviously if you know the difference between literal & metaphorical truth, you can cherry pick the good out of Islam with a high rate of success. I’m just saying that, from my experience with Christians, it’s not very likely.

Bad etymology is bad. Just so everyone knows, Aboriginal doesn't mean "abnormal original" or "original but not really" or whatever he said. Aboriginal: This is from ab "off, away from" + ablative of origo "a rise, commencement, beginning, source; descent, lineage, birth," from stem of oriri "arise, rise; be born, be descended, receive life". from Latin aborigines "the first inhabitants," especially of Latium, hence "the first ancestors of the Romans." This is possibly a tribal name, or from or made to conform to the Latin phrase ab origine, which means literally "from the beginning." This is from etymologyonline. Bad in latin is "Malus." As in "malice" or "malformed" or to make up a word "maloriginal."

Excuse me, based on your logic, then there is nothing wrong in the word black or negro which is simply spanish for black. However it is derogatory. Because its a whole African race whose named based on color. They are Africans and should be called as such. Similarly, there is nothing wrong in the word Red Indians. What is so bad in those two words? Well, they are not Red Indians, they are different tribes and nations, and to lump then all into group named by other is derogatory. Similarly, to call the maori of New Zealand and the natives of Australia who speak 200 different languages and are culturally distinct from one another, as one and the same people, is as bad as calling french and germans as the same people. To cast all those living down under as aboriginal is wrong. It is simply derogatory

And "German" is derogatory because Bavarians and Westphalians are not the same people? IMO derogatoriness becomes associated with a word if that word is used for a people that are despised. In the USA, the "establishment" looked down on a certain group of people who happened to be known as negro. So negro became a derogatory term and the non-derogatory term "coloured" was used instead. Then that became derogatory by association so "black" replaced it. That became derogatory by association so "person of colour" replaced it. I predict that will become derogatory, too, in due course. Under your scheme, it is already derogatory because people of colour come in a range of colours, they are not all the same.

Calling a dweller of Europe as a European us fine because the continent Europe was named by the local inhhabitants and there is nothing derogatory in it. However you think it is okay to use the word black for Africans? And Red Indians is okay for you??? Do you know that it was actually the spaniards who used the word INDIOS for the people they colonised in a very derogatory manner. Indios used to be classified as low ranking social strata. And similarly the term aborigibal is offensive, because it is loaded with a suppisition that these people didnt have their own name or history. It is like using "rednecks" to refer to sun kissed whites.

Hey man, really like the lectures, but I’m an electrical engineer and to compare American nuclear safety protocols (even in the 70s) to soviet ones (or even Russian ones today) is beyond laughable and steers directly in the “intellectually dishonest” realm. Go watch the Illinois Energy Prof’s videos on three mile island & Chernobyl and you’ll see why. Just to start off: the soviet reactors are of a completely different (& unsafe af) design. That’s not mention the fact that western reactors are built inside a containment building with thick ass concrete that stops radiation from leaking. Sincerely, despite the fact I don’t agree with your politics, you’re obviously a great professor, but that doesn’t negate the fact you don’t know what you’re lecturing about in this one & it shows.

As for nukes: just to be clear, I don’t know anything about Russian protocols surrounding their nuclear bombs, just their nuclear reactors. I have studied the history of Iran and lived in Iran. Khomeini was a demonic beast, millions suffered, and thousands were killed by the Islamic regime. Shah was an angel comparing to Iranian blood thirsty Regime in charge. When a girl or boy is arrested by Iranian gestapo police is raped, beaten and many times murdered. More than 560 unarmed protesters have been murdered in streets of Iran. Over 20,000 prisoners have been taken by the Mullah's brutal police. We have seen and heard horrible crimes against humanity. Confusing lecture. Not sure how all these topics tie in together. I don’t believe the portions regarding bush etc. bush played into the facade of him being a dumb cowboy. Bush was in Florida on the morning of 9/11. Bush was an amazing impromptu speaker. Watch the one where he’s holding the megaphone after 9/11 in nyc (the famous revenge speech). Completely off the cuff, emotionally charged just for his audience. He was a poor planned speaker . If you watch the interviews of those in his administration, they always said bush was well prepared, did his “homework.” He was no Al gore or Hillary Clinton. But to portray him as completely idiotic is incorrect. Especially after seeing trump who didn’t even read his briefs and chose to do his makeup, bush seems highly educated lol
