Frankly, it was Palpatine that made the 501st into a very viable legion during the clone wars. Because Anakin had a very unorthodox style, the legions under him would have to be flexible and independent themselves (Kaminoans would not like that). Also, Anakin had to be a poster boy for the clone wars to maintain a clear distinction between the chosen one and the rest of the jedi. So it would only make sense that palpatine personally chose which battles that the 501st would serve, mainly pivotal ones

Commander Bly: The 501st and the 212th may be the most popular units in the GAR, but the 327th suffered more loses than any other unit and survived. I wish I could say that it’s all because of me, but it’s not entirely true. General Secura was one of the best Generals in the war. When we received Order 66, we followed our orders but not proudly. We made sure the Genera Secura didn’t suffer and despite what the Empire says, we won’t forget everything she did for us.

The 327th has always been my favourite Clone unit. Ever since I saw them gun Aayla Secura down on Felucia in Revenge of The Sith when I was a kid. Bly and Deviss are my favourite Clone Commanders and Secura and Bly are my favourite Jedi/Clone pair. Their Armour also looks the coolest in my opinion.

The 327th were definitely better than the 501st, especially for one reason... as you (Geetsly) have previously stated the emperor wanted Anakin to be successful and his exploits well recorded and known (as such the 501st assigned to Anakin would have received many more predetermined victories than any other legion, whereas the 327th received the worst and were expected to succeed somehow despite the fact that the emperor probably would have rather seen them fail along with anyone else whom might have made Anakin and his unit look more lackluster by comparison). And considering that the 327th had a seemingly unexplainable talent for surviving the worst and in most cases their involvement one way or another resulted in victory for the Republic it is also very likely that little to no thought was put into supplying their unit. Everything from troops, weapons and armor, ships and land vehicles, etc., etc. the 327th was probably never resupplied or outfitted properly as a result of their miraculous successes... they were just expected to make whatever they had/got work, they probably had to fight like hell to see that the 327th got anything close to decent loadouts and still likely only managed to aquire the desired supplies enough for the most elite of the units. This probably explains why the unit still managed to stay kicking for so long despite such massive casualties every time (they were essentially like an arc commando unit with added troops to cover all bases, and with a guerilla tactical Jedi general to boot... therefore while the majority of the unit were far from expendable in the eyes of their superiors it is very likely these losses had a negligible effect on the effectiveness of the unit as a whole and was probably seen as such). Simply put the 327th were very likely the most badass unit in the entire clone wars and perhaps even ever before and after.

I would say the 21st Nova Corps were another unit that had it bad as they were in a stalemate on Mygeeto for pretty much the entire war. Also the battle of Sarrish was another of the worst battles for the republic.

man i hate that fox gets a bad rep for doing his job most of the time altho, realistically thinking, serving under fox would probably be one of the best positions in the grand army of the republic considering that, unless you were in the diplomatic protection force, you probably wouldn't be in combat situations usually. most coruscant guard troopers probably dont have to worry about getting shot by droids compared to just enforcing the law on coruscant, protectiong personnel of interest, and occasionally maybe getting into a firefight with gang members, thugs, etc etc. compared to being on the frontlines

It's my headcanon that Bly, after carrying out Order 66, shot himself when he returned to his senses. He and Aayla had been about as close as a Jedi and clone could be without Turmukaining it up. I think he would have been acting on instinct as the programming took over him, and once he regained control over himself he would have been horrified. Maybe he would have tried to move on, but he no longer had the Jedi to command him. Or maybe he would have done it right away out of despair. Either way, I don't believe Bly ever made it off of Felucia.

​@@michaelandreipalon359 Well, I suppose it all depends on what Clones were at which battles since the 501st had many leaders at the time of all these battles. So for logistics, practicality, and morale, they would send only small detachments of the 501st that could be spared to help these battlefronts with the leader being chosen based on all those factors, plus what the mission entailed. For example, for the Mygeeto battle, that involved a detachment that was in on Palpatine's plan to some degree, thus Rex wouldn't be the one leading that detachment since he wouldn't be onboard with Palpatine's evil plan, instead, another 501st leader who would be willing to do what was done on Mygeeto would be chosen. I imagine it was Commander Vill since he was pretty ruthless, so he would do the mission and work well with Barcara and the other Galatic Marines given how harsh they can be. Now for Felucia, there was nothing nefarious about that mission, so I imagine Rex was chosen to lead the detachment, it would work out well because he's worked with Aayla and Bly before, so he could better coordinate with them, plus he was present at the other two Battles of Felucia too so he would be more use to the planet and how to fight the Separatists there. Also, this wouldn't be the first time Anakin sent Rex on a mission without him, he did it before when he sent him with Obi-Wan to go after Grevious in the First Battle of Salucmi, and he does it later with sending him to fight on Mandalore during the events of Episode 3. Next Kashyyyk and Utapu were probably more ruthless 501st leaders because after the battle Order 66 goes down and they start immediately subjugating the planets turning on their Wookie and Pau'an allies without a second thought despite just helping them and being friendly, so I imagine Vill and Voca were leading these operations.

The 327th are among my favorite clone trooper units alongside the Shock Troopers (I love their armor pattern and color, that is all), the 501st, the 41st Elite Corps, 212th Attack Battalion, to name a few.

Could you do a video about the airborne troopers and how they actually deploy? We see them, and know they act similar to today's airborne troops, but as far as I can tell, there's no info on whether they use parachutes, jet packs, or some anti grav equipment. There's an arma 3 mod that adds a backpack with wings that let's you glide but I can't find any trace of that existing in the SW universe.

Definently the best battalion. If you zoom in on images from ROTS you will Bly had at least 15 ARC troopers with him and Secura. Bly also was in charge of about three armies worth of clones with Commander Deviss reporting to him.

The galactic marines probably got just as many terrible/hazardest battles and planets as the 327th since they basically wore up-armored hazmat suits, also I remember watching a video on them fighting barehanded because their weapons and armor meant for extreme temperatures malfunctioned and won, unfortunately we don't get to see too much of them.

the yellow and white color scheme could totally have worked in arctic environments. Sentient species and local wildlife alike usually avoid inspecting the yellow patches all to closely in such environments.

I love the 327th but they constantly get overlooked. One of my favorite canon clone units (also Bly is one of the only major clone commanders to also be an arc trooper himself)

My Favourite Clones are the CC squads first, 212th second and 327th 3rd. I guess I just like Airborne capable Divisions. 2nd Airborne and Hawkbat Companies are badass
