Actually for once, I agreed with Geoff. I prefer pack pulled auto of a goat from rookie year vs a rookie card that has an auto, which no one really knows if it is real or not.

you have no proof the player signed the Stickers so many card companys use .. they give them a few pages of stickers offer them some money and hope the player mail's them back and prey they did not have some distant cousin do the autograph .. are you so sure those are real ... ?

@@tgeezee3453 Yes, the Upper Deck autos in 2003 were on-card, not sticker. Sticker auto wasn’t really popular on name brand sets until Panini.

Alotta fleers stuff in the end was questionable too. Theres a pujols rookie auto from a high end fleer product(I think legacy) that psa would.never touch because they said the autographs were questionable. BGS didnt have any issue slabbing them though.

I love Jordan, but as an investment, I would choose LeBron PSA 10 Auto 10. There's more upside in the long term. His cards will continue to increase again. Especially if he can get another champion before he retires.

Well Geoff traded a Jordan auto PSA 10 for base Topps Chrome Lebron RC and Base James Harden Topps Chrome RC (two cards that were overvalued and not rare). So I'm not surprised lol

I’m old school and I would keep Jordan (the goat) but I would sell other to get a great Lebron card. I would also acquire the best Kobe but I can’t trade certain cards and that is one .

I would like to hear your thoughts on the signed redemption he tried to buy. He sees upside because it’s rare but I don’t know rare doesn’t mean it’s going to skyrocket in value . Just not sure the demand will be there . For the price the guy was asking you’re in the same ball park of getting a nice signed rookie auto on a live card

I hate to say this but just as Montana has dated himself by falling further and further on the stat sheet, Jordan will eventually be topped by more stat leaders and when younger kids look up stats and championships they will see Labron. I like Jordan more but I have no doubt that Lebron will top him in 20 years

Exactly. Pippen was one game away from taking the Bulls to the finals…WITHOUT Jordan…. shouldn’t that tell you right there??? Yet nobody talks about it 🤔 Lebron on the other hand, what did his teams do the year after he left?…. Cavs: 19-63 (after winning the championship) Heat: 37-45 (after going 54-28 the year prior) And for those on the “super team” train, don’t forget that Lebron lead a garbage Cavs team to the finals in 2007 What did Jordan do with the garbage teams he was on (before Pippen and Jackson arrived)?…. not 1 winning season. Jordan was amazing to watch, he was superior in the clutch, and he was arguably the greatest scorer in history (which is debatable)… but the competition in Jordan’s era was nowhere near what it was/is in Lebron’s era.

A lot of high end collectors I know don't mind letting their lesser graded or quality duplicates go. He might also have a business interest in showing Liquidity of more modern cards so people are encouraged to visit Cards HQ and wheel and deal

Only thing I can think of is the PSA premium on the Lebron. The Jordan has probably been looked at by someone with PSA and they told Geoff it wouldn't cross over. Plus, BGS is slipping really hard already. Let alone a BGS 9.

I wouldn't have done it - I don't like Lebron prices; long term value I don't like it either; comparatively it is a fair trade overall at present time so it's fine - Larry Bird for Jordan - then I'd be interested; this comes down to personal preference about what someone wants to own; I don't own any Lebron, and not interested in acquiring any so an easy pass from my perspective

Since his Jordan was a duplicate, and a lower grade than the one he kept, it was a smart move! He now has highly desirable cards of the All-Time GOAT (Jordan) and the GOAT of his generation (LeBron)! Personally, I would NEVER trade Jordan for LeBron!!!

jordan card looks amazing from half a room away .. and a nice signature you can SEE .. the labron not that nice of a card and a scribble of a Autograph thats barely visible untill the cards 2 inches from your face thats a 10 because the pen did not streak ? the jordan win's in every way cooler card way more visiable ledgeable recognizeable autograph ... witch one do you want .. I’m definitely a Jordan over Lebron guy, but I don’t hate this trade. Over a couple of decades the Lebron market will probably increase at a faster rate than that of Jordan’s, which Geoff noted has increased drastically over a relatively short period of time. At some point that has to plateau, and that could actually be quite soon. Also, Dustin, what makes you think Lebron is on a downward spiral in his career after that nice showing in the Olympics? He’s still playing at a super high level. Sure, his team isn’t the best, but if AD stays healthy and one or two other guys have a semi-breakout season the lakers could easily be in contention for a chip. Great video for discussion! Terrible deal by Geoff. So many nicer Lebron RC autos than this. The Jordan Fleer Sticker and auto are much nicer aesthetically and rarer. Geoff even showed a BGS 9.5/10 Auto of the Lebron card selling for ~$24K. He way over-valued the PSA 10/10 that compared to the Jordan. That said, I thought Geoff got a steal of a pickup of the 2014 Kaboom basketball complete set. I would have traded the Jordan auto for that set, so I guess you win some and lose some

I think it's a good trade, notwithstanding the players involved. Lebron's market has significantly fallen. And the sp authentic card was a dual grade auto 10/10, which has a significantly lower pop. He probably won the deal, and the lebron card has significant up side as people begin to appreciate his career.

I’m a huge Lebron fan but Jordan is one of those rare athletes that will always resonate with the masses. There are only a few athletes that continues to stay massively popular after they retired: Babe Ruth. Muhammed Ali, Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan and I think Tiger Woods will be there as his career is winding down. As great as Lebron is, the TV ratings never equaled what Jordan did. Lebron has been apart of some of the lowest rated NBA Finals in the history of the sports. The 2007 NBA Finals between Lebron vs Duncan is still the lowest rated finals in the 21st Century at 9 million viewers a game. Heck Jokic vs Jimmy Butler 2023 Finals got 11 million viewers. Michael Jordan was averaging 29 million viewers in his last finals (1998). The NBA Finals has never seen anything close to that since Jordan retired. You just can’t explain a phenomenon like Jordan, Ruth, Ali, Gretzky or Tiger but the masses/casual tune in to watch them like no other athletes. That’s why i would never trade anything Jordan for Lebron. And i say this as someone who appreciated how great Lebron was.

MJ is my favorite player but supply is not fixed on his autographed 1986 Fleer sticker. MJ may sign 10 to 100 more stickers of equal or better quality as we have seen with the 1986 Fleer base this year (maybe for charity, maybe for a quick buck). Plus, I don't trust Beckett grades or autograph authentication for any card over $150.
