Why did these KZbinrs leave Minecraft Limited Life? - Will they return?
In Grian’s series, first there was 3rd Life, next we got Last Life, then Double Life, and now we have Limited Life! But there are some members missing like Mumbo Jumbo, LDShadowLady, and RenDog. Did these 3rd Lifers quit the series? Are they ever gonna return? In this video, I dive into the reasons behind each members’ absence! Who do you think is gonna come back next season? I’ve noticed that Lizzie typically likes to take it one series at a time, last life happened to just be between the empires seasons, so I suspect that may be the reason

if youve been a fan of lizzie, you know that she typically has a hard time in scheduling. she mainly focuses on her IRL life rather than youtube, taking care of the house, the pets, etc. lizzie is also sensitive in stressful/competitive situations (this is why she doesn't like joining MCC) and the smp can be that sometimes. Like when last life happened, she just tried out the weekly sessions and maybe found it too difficult to keep up with especially with her current situation with the house renovations. Because of this, she also missed out a lot on other smp's like RATS smp, and missed out on other things in empires. It's unlikely that lizzie might join back on future seasons but who knows?

Lizzie and Mumbo have both said that they’re not the most interested in competitive content (eg. MCC). I know that the Life series isn’t massively about the competition, but at the end of the day it is still a last man standing competitive series, so this could feed into their hesitation to rejoin

@@theAstarrr I think first things is that Mumbo hasnt been playing Minecraft much. its a burnout and he def wouldnt want to play on a comp combat server when he doesnt ever do combat. Idk how Grian takes ideas for the server but i think it might be cool if they have groups. Aka redstoners, PvPers and idk some other stuff. Or maybe something like groups but each group as a set person in a role. And people cant use stuff in other roles. It might change it up and let non pvpers play

Skizz was also travelling periodically to Florida I believe for some sporting event his daughter was in, I think it was soccer but I could be wrong. He may have been able to make it work, but he ultimately decided that it was more important to be there with his family, which is the right call.

This series requires a commitment to be available at a particular time on a particular day of the week for multiple hours on multiple weeks so real life events will have a bigger impact on availability than normal smps. Plus there is also the requirement to produce the episodes fairly quickly. Hopefully everyone can return when possible, but people not been available will always occur.

yeah thats why bdubs. is yet to upload his POV. we all know how he's picky about editing his videos. so uploading it within a certain timeframe might not be his thing. on that note. much respect for pearl. i hear that she has to wake up early to be able to play and record with them. not to mention her ping.

I almost decided to skip limited life when I learnt ren was not in it. He is almost always involved in major alliances and makes the story fun. He prioritizes story and drama before everything else which I love. Hope to see him back.

I really hope Ren will come back next season. He uses music and sound effects really well to make his videos exciting. When the music builds up it really catches your attention. In addition to that he is a very good storyteller as you mentioned in the video. I haven’t seen any other member of the “Life” series tell the stories in a similar way as him. He takes the videos he creates very seriously and thus his videos become very enjoyable to watch. Watching his “Life” series videos is almost like watching a horror/action film. It’s really well made

Yeah I love Ren’s style a lot, especially in the last life finale with the monotone and red colors. The only member who I’d say competes with Ren in terms of style would be Martyn, who also makes his videos feel like full on films

Like I don’t want to listen to “happy” music while he is planning to blow up “bread bridge” with his allies. I think it makes the videos very unserious. Hope he returns next season! He brings a great energy for others to play off of. We normally start with smajor's perspective, since he tends to be everywhere, he gives the best overview. Then we watch specific viewpoints based on what events we want to see. Eventually, we manage to watch everyone's.

I would love it if, against all odds, we had every single member in again for season 5. Last Life was a gem. (Especially for Mumbo, who I've said doesn't often come to "Third-Party" events from Hermitcraft, like Among Us, 3rd Life, etc)

It would be epic if season 5 was an all-star remix, every old member, and maybe some new ones from empires and hermitcraft. But everyone gets a different challenge (some play by the rules of double life, limited life, last life, and 3rd life) Meaning that everyone has their own unique goal with the server. Weather it being kill for time, or dont get your teammate killed.

@@WrenGirl It certainly has some flaws. Like the life giving system from last life. But i think they could easily find a way to make it just a short crazy one, not to really be like a full season. But more like a special. (even tho it would still have multiple episodes) They also once jokes about doing a sports day as a 1 episode series called real life. And i think a 45 min video of all the lifers doing irl sports would be amazing. But scar would have to miss out.

And an IRL one could include sports like archery and lightsaber dueling, which could include Scar if tweaked, and even some basketball throws! Everyone could do those, and the people who choose not to show faces would compete on Wii. Wow I just got super invested in something that never will occur...

I dont really think anybody is rly leaving life series because of how close the members are to eachother. Most members have a very long history of friendship behind of them (Joel and Lizzie even being married). So the main reason some might not participate is that they simply do not have time.

lizzie probably didn't do it because she might find it too chaotic (she once said mcc was too chaotic and that's why she now only shows up for event mccs e.g. pride month mcc) but i hope she does it again as it's my favourite series to rewatch on her channel

3rd life was originally meant to be a stand alone series, I don’t think any of the content creators expected to be doing it so often. It may not seem like a lot to us, but each session is roughly 3 hours and then they have to edit the 3 hour long footage, double check that editing, and receive hate if they did something to another creator in the series (like boogeyman kill). Then they have to do this all over again the next week, so it’s understandable that not everyone can do that and other series like hermitcraft or empires. Basically what I’m saying is that it’s ok if people need a break. This video was quite good at saying that and I like how it didn’t go into detail about anything that could be personal.

The hate comments are the part that sucks the most. It's a series that pits the content creators against each other, even if in a fun and not so serious way, and everybody of course wants interesting content out of it. So when some player kills another, they both get what they are after. The whole point of the series is to trick, backstab, trap and kill each other in funny ways, so it's just ridiculous when some stans get upset about it.

@@wombat4191 yeah it’s terrible, some people don’t understand how much pain words can cause, especially if it’s multiple people saying the same thing. I get being a little mad if your favourite creator dies or something but it doesn’t justify going to the other creator and hating on them. All the players are there for fun and are friends, they have agreed on the rules and can back out if they want. The hate that fans cause could seriously be the thing that puts a stop to the life series which would be very unfortunate. Some people just overreact.

I think that it is worth a note that Lizzie had an episode of limited life where she was in control of Pearl's perspective, which shows that she may still be interested in the series and may return. Also Gem had an episode taking control of Cleo's perspective so she may be a new member to the series in the future. Just worth a note.

I would assume for the most part it was just due to scheduling issues or lack of interest. Double life has an extra excuse due to needing an even amount of players.

A lot of the Life Series’ success comes from A) everyone getting online and recording every week And B) good vibes between players. While it’s really easy for some players to handle doing a ton of different smp’s at once(looking at you Scott) others like to take it slow and only focus on one at a time. I think all of these players might come back with the right circumstances,(especially Ren) but it’s good no one is forcing themselves to be on the series, because if they were, it probably wouldn’t be as fun to watch.

I don't know if people were expecting a lot of secret behind-the-scenes drama or something, but yeah, it's obvious that the main reason someone would not participate is because they couldn't manage it due to other commitments. And you also have to consider that while any of us would probably change our entire lives for the opportunity to play on one of these servers, to these guys they're just playing a game with their friends once a week. It's not a life-changing event or once in a lifetime opportunity. "Sorry guys, busy, I'll catch you in the next one, have fun"... And then literally no aspect of their day-to-day life changes as a result. Ps: no disrespect to the host guy here, but whether or not he "respects" their decisions is not weighing heavily on any of us. Nobody has been given piece of mind to know that the host respects a prominent KZbinr's decision. It's an unnecessary thing to say repeatedly throughout the video.

A reason why Lizzy didn't join the life series is because in irl on her twitter or Instagram( I cant remember which one ) is because her house that she just moved into not that long ago was being redon so she didn't upload for a month due to staying in a caravan and that Lizzy dose mainly focus on one series at a time now then before duo to being busy with her new merch store and irl things.

I didn't realise Ren was absent when I watched the first session and it felt like something was missing until I realised in the second session. Whenever I think of the Life series I think of Ren so it's pretty sad to not have him there. Also Lizzie kind of made an appearance in Limited Life in session 6, she played Pearlescentmoon as she couldn't be there that session. (Geminitay did the same for Zombiecleo in the same session)

The funniest thing is that Lizzie came back on Pearls account to play in Limited Life- 😂 I think she enjoyed it but I don’t know if she liked the “competitive” aspect of it, sure it wasn’t too competitive but from the usual SMP’s she is in the Life series was MUCH different, more like a game then an SMP, which that’s really what it is- I don’t know fully but like I said her content is usually a little more lore like with SMP’s that revolve around building and things like that- I don’t know how to explain it but she also tends to do one series at a time. And like you said with Ren he has personal reasons not to join and it makes me really sad, but I am hoping more that his mental health gets better rather then him coming back in the Life Series! Though like I said before with Lizzie playing for Pearl ahem actually played for Cleo in the exact same session! Which was a joy to watch! And honestly I’m excited about the animations that this series will have when it ends, and how people will interpret everything because those artists are INSANE!

For Limited life especially since episode 6 attendance for every session seems to be mandatory which while makes sense due to the timed aspect of the series may have influenced alot of players decision making in wanting to be in the series.

I think they can sit out a session if they cant be there but I think Grains afk session might have been an influence on Pearl and Cleo to have an episode even if they cant play. So it might seem like its mandatory but I dont think it is. After all you cant always know if something goes wrong, I think Bdubs had some issues with his recording in last life so his perspective for his final episode was lost.

While I agree that Fit would make for a solid addition, it doesn't seem very likely. Everyone in the Life series is connected to Grian in some way, whether it be through Hermitcraft or Empires (now that entire server collabs are a thing) or his old Evo SMP. I think there are too many dots to connect between Grian and Fit for him to just casually pop up in one of these.

His ability to exploit game-breaking mechanics would be limited by being reduces to a limited number of 3-hour recording sessions, but I'm sure he could come up with something.

I also miss Ren being in the life series, he really D&D's the crap out of it. With Ren around you know everything will feel deeper in lore and role play. Limited life may be less lore and role play, but it's more of a game. People are much more focused on actually playing it and trying to win back time and all, so it's more competitive, but less of a story, not necessarily a bad thing

Not having the time, mental energy and just from most recounts irl stuff which mental health and irl should always come before hand. Mumbo not being in this season and double life was very much due to a well needed break and hiatus and him focusing on hermitcraft and redstone videos is probably the best thing at this time. Lizzie is more than likely focused on the one series, this being empire's. Is pretty self explanatory and valid too. Especially when the Life SMP series is taxing with schedule and editing three hours worth of footage. Skizzle taking a break/vacation for season three is also understandable. As for the ones outside this season, Ren dealing with irl stuff is something I dont and no one should blame him on irl affairs and I hope he recovers well. No one is entitled to know anything, itll be parasocial behavior to even pry, its invasion of privacy. As of no POV of BdoubleO, apart from a maybe future compilation, him being a figure in others POVs is an interesting concept. And he has every right to do that especially when his main focus is hermitcraft and building with series by the looks. In any case if a season 5 does happen I do hope for all members to return but I woulsnt be upset if that doesnt happen maybe they'll bring on new players who knows. This type of series does take a significant lot of planning and scheduling, and as we seen with grains second episode of Limited sickness can strike anytime so even leave with one or two episodes can happen especially with irl stuff.

How i see it its mostly because people have a life outside of KZbin/Minecraft. If you don't feel like you have the energy or the time to be in the series its so much okay. People may come and go, at the end they all feel like a group of friends in the series and no one should feel pressure to be in it. Personally i dont't care who might be missing or not as long evryone has a good time :)

Mumbo only just returned to KZbin after his 6 month break, but you didn’t mention he is also currently in the Philippines so sure he is making the most of his time there as well... I do hope Lizzie comes back, and Ren as well! Would love to see some others join as well, like Gem, Sausage and False! The life series are my favourite minecraft series, and I love watching all perspectives...

I think I’ve actually heard the Fwhip said he was considering joining Double Life, but there needed to be an even amount of people. Double Life was in a lull before Empires s2, so it makes sense that he’d have the availability to do it then, but not for Limited Life. If you've been listening to Ren's livestreams, then you surely know that he recently had been informed that his current landlord had unexpectedly decided not to renew the Ren's lease, which is scheduled to end in a few months, apparently due to the landlord deciding they are no longer going to be leasing the property out so they can use the space themselves. Ren has been searching for a new place to live that meets his various needs, and decided that this and some other IRL issues take priority over another series at this time. He has been very candid about that during the livestreams. Hopefully, things settle down and he can join any future series.

While this could be completely unrelated, I know Lizzie tends not to compete in the Minecraft Championship (MCC) as she isn't as fond of the competitive nature, with her usually competinging in non-canon MCCs. This could also be true for the life series

the reason lizzie is abscent from the recent series is because of their house being renovated. She almost did not appear for the entire hermitcraft crossover, not even making a video on them going to their side. And joel had to end that collab early because of the renovations. Its why she took the break. It was not really by her choice. We dont really know how joel kept uploading during that time but from what we heard it was only possible for 1 pc, and since he uploaded more consistently he got the pc. And she might have just returned right before limited life started (not too sure) but its because they would have not known if she would have been available for the season. And she seems to never be in more then 1 season at a time. TLDR: Her house was being renovated, so they probably was unsure if she would be able to join in for the season. And she tends to be in 1 smp at a time, so to have 2 going on straight after a renavation probably was another reason.

Bdoubleo is recording for his thing at the end, but he isn't uploading. Skizz stated in his podcast with Impulse that he didn't join double life specifically due to his vacation. Mumbo's absence is because he is in the Philippines, not because he is focusing on Hermitcraft. LDshadowlady did actually return temporarily when she filled in for Pearl when she was in Japan during session six. In the same way, Geminitay filled in for Cleo when her computer broke down that session, but she hadn't been in a previous season. Rendog was absent because as the season started, he was visiting family in South Africa, and the wifi there isn't good for multiplayer games, or even voice chatting. He may be back now, but he is too late to join except by filling in for someone else.

A lot has been going on with Lizzie lately. She uploads a lot more leisurely, but she also had to take a break with Joel due to their cat dying. Lizzie also doesn’t upload more than one series at a time, probably because of all the effort she puts into her own videos. Lizzie doesn’t have an editor, so planning, recording, editing, rendering and uploading one episode is a lot of work, and I don’t think she would be able to schedule getting on at a certain time on a certain day to record a several hour long session, edit it herself, render it and upload it along with empires season 2 without sacrificing quality.
