Most of my wife's family worked there at some point. All of our dinnerware is Shenango. Amazing that there are still plenty of intact pieces surviving . Some looked like it could be unfired. Awesome adventure Jim!

I took a tour through Shenango potery in 1970 when it was still making Dinnerware and other art pottery, some things you never forget seeing the products being created.

Hey Jim! You were in our neck of the woods!!! Seeing all the china still there is really sad! Do you think being sick and out in the coolness and rain good for you? Alone..hmmmmm! Yes, you are being scolded!! You definitely weren’t quiet walking on the broken china even though you tried. 😂😂😂😂 Anyway..thanks for the adventure. Most enjoyable!! Look after that cold and get better!

You keep coming to New Castle and Lawrence County. Go check out Amish Country in New Wilmington and Volant. Go look at McConnells Mill State Park, Moraine State Park, The Scottish Rite Cathedral, The Hoyt. The old Cemetaries like Greenwood and Oak Park. The old brick yards and coke ovens and old tunnels along Neshannock Creek.

Because that is the condition of their home facilities . They are falling down ! And so is this place . What I say is , if they can’t take care of the property they occupy , THEY CAN STAY OUT .

You are deserving of a compliment for your video, especially its originating content and the effort that you put forward in order to record it. All except needless to say I am not impressed by the obsequious fawning over the spray painting that we observed. 17:19 I take no satisfaction in noting that what you call an 'awesome mural' is in reality known by most people as graffiti. In this location it diminishes the impressiveness of the place where several generations of people spent their careers and lives working to manufacture "functional art"; it demonstrates an extraordinary level of incivility and when seen detracts from any historical venue. It is my conclusion that graffiti shows a total lack of respect towards a locality and is equivalent to any other form of pollution. The graffiti in this video is disappointing especially when I consider the arrogance and self-absorption of a person who would permanently deface a site of historical significance for a few moments of inconsiderate satisfaction, even if that property is in a state of disrepair. Leaving graffiti is a despicable act. As far as I'm concerned graffiti is nothing that is even remotely similar to art and uninspiring is as near to art as it gets. Graffiti certainly isn't 'awesome'. Graffiti is almost always a message that carries insult and in this case it is a permanent vandalization of a historically significant site. I am of the opinion that graffiti, if anything meaningful, is a monument to arrogance, incivility, negligence and narcissism. Graffiti is the ultimate demonstration of disrespect towards a society and its existence has nothing constructive to add in its advancement.

Graffiti is art. Respect peoples art work. The building is going to be torn down at some point and if not it can always be painted over. Graffiti is part of urban street culture and it is an awesome way to beautify spaces and make the world more colorful and interesting.
