I loved dylan for a very long time and honestly I think Gillette would’ve been a better pickup than Berle or a good pickup along Berle, I like both Gillette and Berle personally so it sucks seeing Berle act this way but Berle is definitely straight up replicating dylan and Gillette is just on the same ride that dylan was so he ended naturally ended up with a similar skate style, I think it’s shitty that some people hate on someone for not having these certain sponsors. I think influences are a normal thing in life . Think of Greco and Bulala when they got influenced by Sid vicious . They were trying to relate to how they felt and how they wanted to express them selfs and gravitated to that style . That’s what made them feel them selfs and that’s what it’s all about. Perhaps the phrase “influenced” can sometimes have a negative connotation specially in skateboarding but it’s part of life and natural progression and to evolve. Dog town was influenced by surfing , bones brigade by dog town etc etc. it’s almost a sign of respect or admiration to be influenced by someone . Nobody can say they didn’t have some kind of influence in anything haha unless you are the first human ever and that sounds awful to learn everything on your own.
