4:13 The only "hate" that Harry ever really had towards Voldemort was from killing his parents.
@BlackangelKatakuri3 жыл бұрын
I'm sure there was more.
@bluebellea33 жыл бұрын
1) I totally agree with your assessment of Harry's character about him not basically having hatred in his heart. I think the only time he might have let hatred rule him was when Aunt Marge badgered him about how rotten his parents were and being that she had a history of being consistently nasty to him in prior visits to Privet Dr., he unleashed his anger at her, without a wand. Also it's true that in book 3, Harry didn't know the incantation of the killing curse yet. 2) Adding to his pitying Voldemort, the use of Expelliarmos might have parallelled what Lily did, in a way. Lily didn't fight or resist when Voldemort attacked her, in order to protect baby Harry. In turn, Harry, was doing what was necessary to protect and defend; not surge and attack. His wand might have realized what this true hearted intension was and respected Harry all the more, thus exerting even more power to the Expelliarmos spell, helping to overpower the Avada Kedavra.

What about when Bellatrix killed Sirius?
@bluebellea33 жыл бұрын
@@BlackangelKatakuri If you go by what's presented in the movie, yes Harry was incensed over Bellatrix murdering Sirius. He cursed her with the Cruciatus curse but he managed not to thoroughly finish her off the way he could have. And this was despite being able to hear the voice of the Dark Lord egging him on before he actually made his appearance in the Ministry of Magic lobby (leading to the duel between him and Dumbledore). If you go by the book, Harry fires the Cruciatus curse at Bellatrix but she was able to laugh it off saying that Harry had to really mean it for the curse to do her any serious damage. In either scenario, Harry definitely felt enraged by Sirius' murder by Bellatrix but he didn't have it in him to exact revenge with the intense rage that he would have been justified to feel for witnessing the cold-blooded killing of his godfather.

I imagine the killing curse and all of the other dark magic in Harry Potter works like the dark side of the force in Star Wars. Like, a Jedi can’t just blast force lightning out of their fingertips whenever they want, it’s not something you can just learn - you literally have to have pure hatred in your heart in order to use it and the stronger your hate, the more powerful the lightning. Same thing for the killing curse and other dark magic in HP, and there’s no way Harry would ever give into hate like that
@realJoeMavro3 жыл бұрын
In the Legends universe, Luke Skywalker and Plo Koon can use variations of Force Lightning, but it's (presumably) nowhere near as potent as Sidious' for the exact reasons you stated.

I didn't really like how Voldemort's death was depicted in the movie. I liked the books version much better. Where everyone was in a circle around both Harry and Voldemort. Everyone could see the dark lord, being defeated! And he was just a human, like all of us. So his body was laid somewhere far away from the others! But you could at least see his death body. Something i'm sure Voldemort would have been very scared off! Anyway, that's just my opinion of course.

Harry was not arrogant enough to place his own life above anyone else's--not even Tom Riddle. The only person who can kill is one who believes that the opposite person does not deserve to live. Tom had that level of superiority, ironically because he knew which family he had come from, and he despised them. His upbringing had also taught him to despise all others--whether wizard or Muggle.

Because to use the killing curse you have to want to kill in your heart or it'll fail. Because he decided he didn't want to use dark magic anymore after how he hurt draco with the cutting curse. Because he and voldermort were foils of eachother, and therefore Harry had to use "good" magic for this to be a typical "good vs evil" fight. There's a multitude if reasons.

Thou shalt not kill is the 5th commandment, so it go to all 3 sides, the laws of man, God, and Nature which no one thought of it being a part of. Animals killing each other to survive is a different standard by nature's laws, just like being magical "IS" normal but most mortals would say otherwise cause of their own standards. If "hypothetically" Harry did kill under self-defenses means, then surely nothing would happen to his soul. When Harry used the torture curse on Bellatrix after Sirius died, understanding what he was emotionally going through is to b taken into account. If not, then something happened to his soul then but good deeds after have fixed it. Again, if not, then like Snape said before "Life isn't fair".

Which made him the new true Owner... Grindlewald also did not Kill its previous Owner... Which is what made him the true Owner previously..... All other's, seemingly got it by other means, which they themselves met grizzly deaths. JK really should have explained this better in the books overall, but the final book got more Rushed than the other's... Hence why we got 2 half-thought-out plots, jumbled with flashbacks from Dumbledore's past... And a rushed Horcrux Hunt. We really deserved a better explaination forthe Wand Lore. I feel like there is a little irony in the Harry Potter series when it comes to these two spells. Voldemort is the epitome of evil and his killing curse is green which just so happens to be the color of Harry’s eyes. Harry is pure hearted and his disarming charm is the color red which happens to be the color of Voldemort’s eyes. Even more so, if you look at the Star Wars series, Darth Vader was the epitome of evil yet he had a red light saber (the color of Harry’s disarming charm yet the color of Voldemort’s eyes) and Luke Skywalker was pure hearted yet his light saber was green (the color of Voldemort’s killing curse yet the color of Harry’s eyes). I don't think Voldemort could be effected by the killing curse as it said to only ripe the soul out of the body which can't be the case with Voldemort as the horcruxes kept his soul bound to the mortal world. The reason why his physical body was destroyed was because his unstable soul broke apart.

I give it up to harry I dont think that I could show so much restraint when my friends were dying round me I would never use it against anyone who wasnt pure evil though I think a wizard or witch should k ow dark magic but only use it in the gravest circumstances i would always try and disarm but if you killed my friend infront of me I dunno if I could hold back but it would be riotous anger not evil hate so would the curse work properly probs not
