Hi Tina, thanks for the question. Probably better to speak privately about your case, if you prefer to email us directly instead. We cannot comment specifically on treatments done elsewhere though. Our Prolotherapy technique is often different than other offices. We give our patients interested in returning to sports some specific guidelines based on their individual case and the type of treatment they are receiving here. We wish you the best, and would love to help you here if that is an option

Hi Mike, thanks for your comment. Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure if you received treatment from our clinic, but I'd encourage you to contact us directly so we can review your case together. But it sounds like you received only one or a couple shots per treatment. That is not how we do Prolotherapy here. We have some treatment vids on our channel, if you want to see the difference in technique, and PRP is sometimes added to that treatment. Hopefully you find shoulder pain relief!

I had prolotherapy. Was it comprehensive enough? Well maybe not but when you are being charged $150 per area and you get a comprehensive treatment that you are talking about that may mean 3-4 different areas of treatment in that session so now you are talking about $400-$500 per visit. Who can afford that when insurance won’t help? How about lowering the cost a bit so people can try it? It’s a mixture of saline and sugar, not costly, no reason for this to cost as much as it does especially when it may not work....

I got one injection for hEDS in my shoulder and best way to describe it is my muscle and joint is more loose making it easier to move joints back into place however causes them to slip more and therefore I struggle with inflammation. I said my elbow was just as bad but we didn't inject the elbow. Since i got prolotherapy the shoulder definitely feels worse in terms of inflammation and pain but its easier to relocate. It's pretty much a lubricant for your joints. I recommend it for super stiff joints but not eds. But I'm no doctor I'm just a patient and this is a personal opinion. Happy they're trying to look for solutions either way. ❤

@CaringmedicalProlotherapy12 жыл бұрын
Hi SoccerCam- good question, and it mostly depends on the individual's case and recommendations from the doctor during the visit. In our experience, most patients are back to being able to exercise within a couple days to a week, depending on what type of exercise it is. We would refer you to the physician who is treating you, so they can make more specific recommendations based on your case. Take care.

I have a question please. If I got c1-c2 instability but I have weakend and overused muscles in this area on one side - may prolotherapy help ? It won't strenghten my muscles. Instability will still be present if my pattern of overusing those muscles won't change. It is difficult to strenghten deep neck and extensors. (Sorry for my english I hope you understand)
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy Жыл бұрын
Hi @ginny177, Prolotherapy for cervical instability has shown great success. But the Prolotherapy treatment series is 50% us and 50% you. We will give you the most comprehensive treatment techniques during your visit and recommend a home care plan and/or adjunctive treatment plan for you to work on after treatment. This means that you still need to be active after treatment, now we don't want our patients going out and running a marathon but believe it or not, movement is a great way to aid in healing the body. We are praying for your healing and wish you all the best!

Hi Darlene, Dr. Hauser uses both terms. Certainly they are patients, but also customers and deserve the respect that a business owner would have for his/her valued customers. But they are patients as well, with a doctor/patient relationship. We are focused on giving excellent "customer" service, so that word gets used too. : )

@CaringmedicalProlotherapy5 ай бұрын
Stay consistent! Prolotherapy is not a one shot wonder and we often find that patients need about 4-6 treatments. We also find that the second treatment feels different. A common reason for this feeling with a regenerative treatment like Prolotherapy is that after the initial progress, a person is more likely trying to do more activity, especially if their favorite hobbies or work was hindered prior to the early stages of pain relief. The stresses put on the joint(s) may still be a little much for the area. The most important thing to remember is that healing works in stages-all types of healing- physical, emotional, behavioral, spiritual, etc.

Great video. I'm in the U.K. and have just had my first round of prolotherapy. It was on the MCP joints of my 4 and 5 fingers. This was 4 days ago. The swelling went away completely within 24 he's and all evidence of having had any sort of treatment had disappeared within 48. There is no change in the laxity of my joint whatsoever. Is it too early to expect anything? They did charge me per shot. I had 4 shots only, 2 per side per finger. I have a feeling you would have done many more around the joints as well as inside them. The doctor I'm seeing is aware of your work and tried to tell me before that he thought it better to use fewer but be specific. I find that odd because he also said that he was unable to see anything wrong and therefore which area to treat. Am I being kind of scammed? I am supposed to have 3 more sessions, 1 week apart. I'm severely depressed and need to get back to my music. I'm worried that I'm in the hands of someone who just wants money. What do you think?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy6 жыл бұрын
Hi Django, Very sorry that you are dealing with chronic pain and it's holding you back from being able to perform music! The technique we utilize is more comprehensive, but that is not to say that other techniques could not help you. Obviously, we cannot specifically comment because we have not seen you in person or been able to examine your fingers to give an appropriate recommendation. However, remember that Prolotherapy stimulatest the body to repair. It is not an immediate fix. Immediate pain relief is something like taking a pill and the effect comes right away, but is short lived and more detrimental in the long run. The body heals over a period of weeks. Think about when someone is in a cast with a broken bone, or post-surgery, etc... it's over weeks that the tissue repairs. That is why Prolotherapy is typically done in our office every 4 weeks or so. We do a very thorough treatment, and let the body do what it needs to do to start laying down new tissue. It continues to repair over the months after the last treatment. There are also some instances where more frequent treatments are recommended, usually when a less comprehensive treament technique is used, but there are other instances too. We are hopeful for you that the current treatment gets you where you need to be. If not, and you are able to travel here, we'd love to help you. Wish you all the best.

I had prolotherapy to my shoulder several times and I cant say it did much. I didn't seem to get much of an inflammatory response though as my shoulder was barely sore after it. Hey, do you recommend supplementing collagen during the treatment ? does it support the healing process in any way at all or ist it just a waste of money? I read that it is useless for healing when you get it from a package. Meaning that it is only beneficial when produced naturally by the body in the joint itself. I would really appreciate your opinion regarding this and supplementation in generall during prolotherapy. God bless you all for the work you are doing.
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy3 жыл бұрын
Hi FT99- thank you for your kind words. Good question. Dr. Hauser has had many patients, especially with osteoarthritis, state that they find benefits from collagen products like you describe, though that isn’t something he personally has taken. On the spectrum of most important aspects of someone looking to optimize the soft tissue healing process, we find that it is much more important to eat healthy, have healthy relationships and be a loving person- more so than any specific supplement. May sound simple and old fashioned, but that's what it comes down to in our 28+ years of doing Prolotherapy. Personally, we have used Ortho Molecular products for over 25 years, and have recommended supplements from them and other pharmaceutical grade supplements over the years. To us, their products have stood the test of time as far as quality results, specifically their soft tissue repair products are some of Dr. Hauser's favorites. We know everyone has their own feelings on companies and supplements as a whole and would need to make that decision themselves and with their doctor. So, again, just sharing our personal experience. Wish you all the best in healing!

Is prolotherapy safe if you have Mast Cell Activation and react to all foods/meds etc? What do the injections contain?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Just ME, Good question. Your whole medical history needs to be reviewed to make sure you'd be a good candidate, discuss goals of the treatment, primary pain issues, etc. We treat patients with MCAS who do well. But as with any medical condition and any medical treatment, it is not appropriate for everyone. There are many solutions/ingredients as well, which is why it is important to discuss what type of solution the provider would suggest for you, if they felt it was appropriate. There is traditional dextrose Prolotherapy with hypertonic dextrose along with various anesthetics, minerals, and/or fatty acids. There are also solutions that contain cells such as PRP or stem cells. Prolotherapy is the umbrella term for regenerative injection treatments, so there are many types of solutions that fall into that category. Wish you all the best in health!

Hi fralo, we reply to emails within a business day, typically. It is likely that your email was not received, if you have been waiting so long for a reply. Unfortunately, we cannot comment too much on treatments received by someone else, as we do not know your case. If you want to contact us directly, though, we would be happy to discuss our approach to your case. We have patients from all over who travel for the type of Prolotherapy that we do, and because we treat very tough cases. Take care.

What Medicines help autonomic nervous system?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jackie Sicilian, We are generally not prescribing medicine for the autonomic nervous system, it is usually more about ways the person has to help themselves. We help guide our patients on some techniques and ways that they can monitor progress, but restoring the ANS is primarily self-driven work.

I have EDS ( Ehlers danlos syndrome ) . I try proliferating dextrose prolotherapy , and i have bad results .. feasible would try another proliferant of inflammation ??
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy9 жыл бұрын
Cesar gonzalez Hi Cesar, thanks for reaching out. You bring up a good question. A stronger proliferant, as you mention, is a consideration and would be a good thing to discuss with your practitioner to see if it is appropriate for your case. It may also be that the overall treatment technique was not comprehensive enough to trigger a strong enough inflammatory/healing response. That means a lot of injections (such as the Hackett-Hemwall Prolotherapy technique) were given or just a few at each treatment. There can be other factors that can affect healing with Prolotherapy that a practitioner who is experienced with EDS can review more specifically with you. If you would like our opinion on the specifics of your case, and for Comprehensive Prolotherapy, we would be happy to talk with you. Please reach out to us directly through our website or info@caringmedical.com so we can discuss your case privately. We hope you find the relief you need! Take care for now.

If self manipulation is a problem, then is yoga also bad for hypermobile people?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Hout E, Good question. There are many types of yoga poses and some of those can be helpful for strengthening and others can be harmful for those with hypermobile joints. So, it is best to discuss with the provider about what types of motions to avoid and which are beneficial.

Hi M4tt- there is always a possibility that a physician would diagnose you with something different than what you may have self-diagnosed. In any case, we would suggest seeing a pain specialist, and if you were interested in Prolotherapy as a potential treatment, then a pain specialist who does Prolotherapy. They can give you a diagnosis and recommended treatment. Good luck with your thumb M4tt!

So sorry to hear about your occipital neuralgia. That pain is awful! We'll be happy to help you. Please reach out to us directly to discuss your case privately: info@caringmediacl.com. We will review your case in more detail. A normal MRI is common but the person still has pain. This is why MRI is really only used to justify surgical procedures. There are better ways to find out why you have occipital neuralgia, and we look forward to talking with you more very soon.

Hi doc. Does a complete rupture in the anterior talofibular ligament heal without surgery? Thank you
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy7 жыл бұрын
Hi Abdul Abdul-baki, Thank you for reaching out. In our experience, a complete tear case should be seen by a surgeon for repair. Often, after the surgery, Prolotherapy can play a helpful role in speeding up healing or rehabilitation. However, Prolotherapy cannot put two disconnected ends of a fully torn ligament together. An experienced Prolotherapist can help you figure out if you are a better candidate for Regenerative Medicine options, such as Prolotherapy, PRP, Stem cell therapy, etc... or if surgery is the better route. There are a lot of cases that we help who originally suspected they had a complete tear, but it was not truly the case upon physical exam. If you would like us to review your case in more detail, feel free to reach out to us directly: info@caringmedical.com or call our team at 708-393-8272.

Hi Dave C, Prices usually range based on the solution used and the level of complexity of the area being injected (a finger is far less complicated than the neck, for instance) as well as the experience of the provider from a couple hundred to a couple thousand. Our prices are listed on our website, but not all doctors list their prices and so you may have to call.

Will prolotherapy help tighten the tendons and ligaments in the pelvic region as in prolapsed uterus and in general prolapsed pelvic region. Do you work on this at your clinic or have you heard of anyone who does this. My obgyn told me the surgery he does will not cover all this and that I will need to go to Salt Lake City for a big surgery that will lift the area. I really don't want mesh in my body. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Hi icecreamlady, Sorry to hear what you are dealing with. We replied to you the other day on a different video. Unfortunately, this is not a type of condition that Prolotherapy would be appropriate for. Hi, I receive Prolo every 4 weeks or so for the past 2 months on my infraspinatus/rear deltoid. I last received therapy 2 days ago. Today I went to the gym and did some weight training using about 40% my normal lifting weight. My shoulder feels very sore and I feel heat and inflammation. Is this normal? And if I did go too hard/too fast is this going to negate the further healing effect and properties of the prolo treatment? Thanks very much,

@CaringmedicalProlotherapy9 жыл бұрын
john lightfoot Hi John, Prolotherapy is all about good news. We are not an insurance provider. However, we can give you a receipt that you can use to file for reimbursement with BC/BS. If they will cover it is dependent on their decision. Most of our patients report some coverage, which is good. Also, many of our patients use their FSA and HSA funds for treatment and that works out well for them. If you have had disappointing results with the insurance-driven treatments you've received, and you'd like to give us a try, we're here to help. Thanks for reaching out.
