Hi faerienik, We have treated hundreds of patients for upper cervical instability. You can see a treatment being done in other neck treatment videos that we have posted, if you want to see it actually being done. Hackett-Hemwall Prolotherapy is a very safe medical procedure when done under a well trained practitioner. Just like any medical specialty procedure, the practitioner should have had a lot of hands on training. Thanks for the post and take care!

I have cervical instability which on top of that all of the symptoms you outline in most of your vagus nerve videos and the multiple physicians I’ve seen here in west Texas have no idea why I’m having the in-compasanating symptoms. This is so incredibly true to what I experience sporadically. I’ve looked into prolotherapy and have found it is not covered by insurance. I wish to God some one some where could properly diagnose me. It is embarrassing for me to even to have to interact with my family much less anyone else. I lose complete control of my body whenever I wake up with these symptoms.

I got this to the T! I was suffering bouts vertigo and one day got really light headed and strange pulsating tingles up my legs. Thought I could be having a stroke. Emergency room did ct scan and it was normal. My eyesight was suffering now and my eyes were hurting and still feeling light headed and maybe confused now and then. Went back and the eye doctor immediately suggested neck. BTW I’m in China doing this and a friend was translating. They took x rays with my neck at multiple angles, turning my head to extremes. They also did an ultrasound for blood flow and found blood flow was weaker on left side of neck. Doctor said exactly what you described “don’t shake your head no violently”. I can’t sleep right now. I just whipped my head to one side and experienced brief vertigo. Gotta stop doing that. I’m also getting headaches in that sub occipital lower rear of my head, especially today. Dammit I’m in China right now! This must put me at risk for dementia or something?

Hi ChaosCreationsTV, Yes, one of the issues we see in patients is they complain of brain fog or inability to concentrate when there are not other factors that really account for that. Oftentimes, it is clustered in with multiple other head/neck symptoms that they are dealing with, in addition to some symptoms that affect other parts of the body as well. There is a lot more about this in the upper cervical spine webinar that Dr Hauser did a couple weeks back, and in our Neck Center section on our website: www.caringmedical.com/hauser-neck-center/

Can prolotherapy help if the whiplash was 38+ years ago? Minutes ago is the first time I've heard of it! Doctors, physical therapists, & chiropractors all said it was a worse whiplash than it could have been in a car accident. I was attacked by a client where I worked & held down as he was biting the back of my neck & pulling my hair. I lost two small pieces of scalp. It's improved over the years although it still has a negative impact on my life.

Hi Cam Cook, Good question. X-rays show the bones but you can see if there is a bad cervical curve or if there are levels of anterolisthesis. We use Digital motion x-ray because you can see all of the bones while they are in motion. We also do other motion testing to see blood flow to and from the brain while a person is in different positions, and also measure the vagus nerve and other tests we call Neck Vitals. Feel free to check out our more recent videos and playlists on the neck center testing or our website which goes into more detail on the markers we use to diagnose and track progress. Is it a great idea stretching your muscles around your neck when you suffer from upper cervical instability? Or is there any exercises at al that could be beneficial to do?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy3 жыл бұрын
Hi medverkande, Thanks for the question. In cases of cervical instability, the ligaments are not able to properly stabilize the vertebrae and the muscles contract in order to protect the vital structures that run through the neck- it is a protective reflex. Because they are not meant to do the extra stabilizing work nonstop, they often become tight, fatigued, overworked, painful, spasm, etc. That is why we discuss that ultimately the ligaments need to be addressed. There are some posture work, exercises, and curve correction that we work with our patients on once we have a better idea of their case and if we are dealing with upper cervical instability and what other levels of instability, severity of symptoms, etc. But there are no exercises that we can recommend across the board for everyone. While there are other channels that may give specific exercises or stretches, we would recommend getting those things cleared by the doctor who knows the person's case prior to starting.
