Why Didn't The Arcade1Up Pro Sell? Is There A Market For Larger Products? What should have been a slam dunk with a DTC Pro Series Arcade from Arcade1Up at the height of the Arcade1Up excitement didn't exactly work out that way as you can still purchase the $1000 Limited Edition Machine online 2 years later. Is there no market for larger higher quality home arcade products? Well the $3500 Super Sprint from Buy Stuff provides data to say that this isn't the case.

KI Pro offered a 11% screen size increase, 11% height increase, a later release date and a few freebies…all for “only” 234% price increase over the sales price at the time lt was announced.

The issue wasn't the cabinet - it was the game. Killer Instinct didn't have a following like that. There hasn't been a Killer Instinct in 10 years...there was a Street Fighter just this year...

Sorry I missed this evening. I can't believe the KI Pro is still in stock. IMO I don't think it sold well because many of the people who wanted it got it when they released the first version. When Pro was announced, there just wasn't, IMO, enough of a reason for those folks to go ahead and spend the extra money to upgrade from what they already had, especially when it was discovered that they didn't even put arcade quality sticks in it. We all know thats HUGE for fighters and knowing you also had to mod those out was such a bunmer, man 😢

I'm keenly interested in Crystal Castles from NWT as long as it's full sized or 3/4 deluxe style. That'd be great or a full sized or 3/4 scale Q*Bert with authentic joystick and knocker! I'd get that for sure! I don't want a tiny cab with separate controls.. and this is from a gal who collects 1:6 scale figures and dolls... haha... those tiny cabs would never see play.. they'd just be for display.. TBH I kinda think it's nuts to position them as an alternative to A1up or atgames.. etc. BTW, I had to pay about $145 to ship my KI pro to me.

BTW I made a rather lengthy response earlier but IDK if it's lost or what but in case it is I'll say more concisely this: I love my KI pro and don't care what anyone says. The sticks aren't complete garbage as they are made out to be but the heavier spring and the way the actuator works compared to sanwa style does make it seem less precise although I still can pull off stuff like Glacius's 32+ hit combo like I used to in the arcade.. which from what I've always remembered used similar brand if not the exact same ones.. I do think these suffered from bad word of mouth especially from prominent home arcade KZbinrs who probably unfortunately received defective parts and assumed they were all like that

I have an old home made MK joystick that a friend made me around the time MK4 came home and the parts are virtually identical to the ones on the KI Pro.. the springs seem to be more or less the same weight even

The buttons I don’t mind but the joystick was horrible, I need to replace them both, I put original happ joysticks in mine, I needed to cut a little bit under the panel but I got it to fit and it’s like playing the arcade now.

Michael B the killer instinct pro didn’t sell because it was way too expensive, killer instinct was the perfect game to do it with the problem is they just made a bigger version of the regular arcade 1up version added a 19 inch monitor which they should all have and they used shit controls and tried charging 1000 bucks that’s why it didn’t sell. Especially if you already had the regular arcade 1up version.

why it didnt sell: Exclusive to their website, ridiculous pricing, info dropped too close to regular machine release, and also a more niche game (compared to a Mortal kombat or Street Fighter, which should have gotten the Pro machine first).
