@@MaticJ29 Nah. When I had cats growing up and I'd stand and carry them with me. Most were okay with it or jumped down. But Luna (a brown/ cream bottle brush tabby) got upset at being carried but still wanted to be on me, so she climbed up on my shoulders and rode like a parrot or scarf; she'd jump on my back while I was playing piano or and watch or the small of my back doing homework and climb to my shoulders when I got up. She wanted her human, but it HAD to be on her terms, and she was creative enough to figure it out XD I still have some of her claw slip scars on my back to prove it decades later.

Wikaa0_0 - I didn’t have a cat for THIRTY YEARS - until I moved into my own house in an area far from traffic. There was an eight-year-old neighborhood stray (actually abandoned!) cat who I adopted four years ago. He was a pretty ferocious kitty for about six months, but he has become a TOTAL gentle sweetheart over the years. I gently let him know I didn’t want him to attack me (by giving him short “time outs”) and he learned not to bite or scratch me. I am VERY proud of how he learned to be gentle with me. When I adopted him, I vowed I would NEVER abandon him no matter what he did, so, he was my kitty forever the day he came inside for his first meal. It was MY responsibility to be patient and loving no matter what, and it paid off! Now he is a TOTAL gentle sweetheart - and not just with me, but everyone (including dogs and other cats). So, one day a cat may decide you are his buddy and you will have a wonderful cat. Be sure to be patient though.

When I was a 5, I got scared when my mom told me to start sleeping on my own because I use to sleep in my parents room at night. Here’s a thought: one of the reasons cats might like sleeping with us is that they are trying to make US happy. My kitty will often hop on my bed and cuddle up after he’s warmed up by the fireplace for a while. Why leave a nice warm fireplace for my bed? Maybe to make me happy by keeping me company?

@MaXaM - I had the exact same experience when I was a kid! I was crying and my cat came in looking worried. He hopped right up to me and rubbed his face against me to comfort me! This was almost fifty years ago, so I forget if my cat meowed (he probably did), but it was TOTALLY obvious that he was worried about me and he did his best to comfort me - and he did! Like you, I didn’t think cats could tell that a person was upset - but HE did! It was amazing! Not only did he KNOW I was upset, but he did his absolute best to try to make me feel better. I DID feel better knowing that my beloved kitty was worried about me and he did a great job of helping me recover from my sadness. Thank you for sharing your story!

Since I retired, I have a crazy sleep pattern...to bed between 3 and 4 and up around 10. He's adjusted, but sometimes our schedule gets messed up, where he's been sleeping for many hours and I'm ready to finally go to bed, then he'll want out and unless it's raining or freezing, he'll spend the night hunting and sleeping on the swing on the deck. He is a proficient hunter and I don't know how he hasn't wiped out the mole population around here, and, most of the time he eats his prey! Ugh!

Going to school and then working, I had no choice in the matter, so I guess now, my natural circadian rhythm is finally getting to do it's thing. It used to puzzle my husband how I would start cleaning and get more active in the evenings, when he was winding down! I kind of wish it was more 'normal' because mornings are so nice!

When I was like 7-9 years old, on my old porch I would fall asleep on the swinging chair we had, my cat Smokey would always come and sleep next to me. When I woke up he would still be asleep a lot of the time so I would just pet him and then he'd purr :). He was the best cat ever hands down. He could hunt really well, I know from experience because he brought dead things back because he loved us so much I guess but he was so sweet as well. He was my bud. I miss him.

I heard that cats bring dead animals to feed their humans, who they think are bad at hunting for themselves. And i think that is true because i had a "mouse in house-scenario" where both my cats couldnt do much else than wait for it to drop cover so i took matters into my own hands and catched it myself while my cats where watching me. Since then they dont bring pray anymore unless they want to eat it themselves. They seem to have realized that i dont need them to feed me. XD

She liked to come in and sleep next to us anyway, but she only leaned against us like that if she really wasn't feeling well. Condolences for your loss. I understand what you're talking about. I lost one of my cats to a brain tumor about a month ago. He went from being active and energetic to needing to lean against me just so he could stay upright to eat. Watching his decline was heartbreaking, but I'm glad that he let me help him as his balance deteriorated.

Lol my cat would run up and down my first apartments hallway at exactly 5am ...often I would sleep on my couch instead of my bed. My cat would take the bed and then at 5 am start running up and down the hallway. My couch happened to be perfectly lined up with the end of the hall becsuse end of the hall is where my living room began. So anyway, I would be rudely awakened to the feeling of cat paws and little claws digging into my body and face at super sonic speeds lol. I would get so pissed but then id see his face and couldn't stay mad...even if he proceeded to do it five times in a row until I just got up for the day. Oh and he also pushed his new kitty roommate (fostering a street kitten) out a two story building while me and my guests watched in horror. She was fine but we didn't open that window anymore...and called landlord for a screen for window. It never happened lol
