Being from Southern Califas, I feel like most Southerners shaved their heads to distinguish themselves from Northerners, so maybe from the pinta to the calles, and it caught on, esp with youngsters, as most Northerners don't really seem to shave their head, but nowadays it seems the Edgar cut has caught on heavy with the youngsters, the new cholo cut, I guess. I see quite a bit of the G youngsters, the lil homies and they pretty much all have the Edgar cut. I can't remember the last time I saw a youngster with a shaved head in 2022

I'm sure bald heads in modern times mean something different but it definitely started in Southern California.fools with Edgar hair cuts are not Cholos LOL, they are Tacuaches

Some people do, some have fades, some braids and some are bald. Bald heads are not exclusive to just one state or place.

As a normal white bald guy I've been researching and looking into why many different cultures and sub groups practice shaving their heads, I never got an answer as to why many cholos (specifically chicano cholos from cali) do it, I also notice that many of them do not have the balding genetics like us whites do, partly cause of their native ancestry but they still shave it anyway, If there is more insight into it I would love to know.
