The sound and visual feedback in Tekken 8 is some of the best in gaming ever, man. Like, when you get a counter hit, and the camera does a slight zoom in and that gunshot-ish sound pops off... *chef's kiss* Even in the fighting game genre, very few have felt as satisfying as T8.

I think Tekken and Guilty Gear (+R and Xrd) are among the best in terms of gamefeel. Tekken has a seriously good sense of weight and power, while Guilty Gear has an almost unmatched sense of freedom, they're such responsive and satisfying games that you feel like you can do anything.

Tekken does feel powerful and those cool moves some characters have based off of actual martial arts. Chef’s kiss. 🤌

It began for me with an SNES given to me by my cousin with Super SFII and killer instinct, then an arcade nearby with SF Alpha 2, I think that is when the addiction began.

Its seeing yourself improve because of your hard work and beating players you once got washed by, unlike other games you have zero help, no special armour sets, no team mates etc its just you watching yourself become more powerful through practice everyday, nothing can beat that but only strong minded people get good at fighting games, most gamers only play games for fun on normal mode or whatever

Fighting games feel great because they mix skill, strategy, and fast-paced action, making each win or loss exciting and rewarding.

Why do fighting games feel good? It's not easy to get into but it's so satisfying when you do combos and understand the strengths and weaknesses of characters. Examples wrestlers are heavy hitting and the masters of the throw game but their very slow and weak against faster characters and Jin from Tekken is easy to pick up but very difficult to master. Street Fighter and King of Fighters are easy to start but it's intense once you start mastering them. Tekken is very hard to get started granted the last two Tekken games(Tekken 7 and Tekken 8) are becoming more beginner friendly is the most satisfying fighting game once you understand and know the fundamentals. Fighting games are the best.

Fighting games feels frustrating not good. Most games are just "stomp or get stomped" and to have a good fight you have to be really good and play against someone as good as you. Every character is designed to be as annoying as possible not only because of the moveset, where you can just abuse knowledge checks and unfair tactics really easily designed to exist but not to work (lol, good game design! Useless moves that exist only to stomp noobs!), but from an artistic perspective too: irritating voicelines, provoking punchline at the end of the fights, and in the most recent ones we even have long cutscene where you are forced to see how your character is dying. To prove my point, just look at how many players ragequits or complains about characters and balancing, even in the more niche ones. There is a reason why most people dont want to play those games: They are for masochists. The genre is designed to create a toxic environment where everyone is always tilted and angry.
@kingcold2982 ай бұрын
The same could be said for shooters or any competitive environment in general. Not just gaming. Suppose what I'm trying to say is "and your point is...?" Cuz it sounds like you're coming from a perspective of someone not good at fighting games, who fights at levels you shouldn't be in.
@michtir81132 ай бұрын
@@kingcold298 My point is that those games are not fun. People play them just because they are addicted to the "you win" logo on their screen I cant understand what you are trying to say with yout last point, is just a way to scream "skill issue" at me? Because im not saying im good or bad but i dont think its relevant in any way, considering that those games have ranked system and you are playing against people on your same skill level most of the time
@kingcold2982 ай бұрын
@michtir8113 your words, not mine. I was leaning more towards the "then it's just not for you" camp. Some people are just stubborn like that. Though skill level is somewhat related to how much fun you have. Also, true, but they're addicted to the "You Win" for different reasons. The hyper-competitive minority is doing it for elitism. The majority of players are casuals who just wanna press buttons and win without the work. The rest are just there for the fight/improvement itself. Nothing else mayters.
