Skin bleaching is disrespectful and should be outlawed worldwide. People should be proud of whatever skin tone they're born with. Skin bleaching in Africa is a result of colonial rule and the colonist falsely saying what is beautiful and what isn't.

The lady in the yellow shirt @5:48 translation: "I beg you please, I don't like the way we bleach ourselves. Black beauty is beautiful, chocolate colour is beautiful. we should stop bleaching ourselves and if you bleach yourself you release odor. So that's why I don't want my female friends and colleagues to bleach their skin anymore"

The women she's interviewing are beautiful. It's so sad that they feel that fair skin is more beautiful and they hate themselves because of it. I love all shades and darker women are so beautiful.

Bleaching cream is banned in Ghana and from what I saw everyone was embracing their authentic selves.

I think it's all based on a foreign ideology that came along with the coming of Europeans and nearby fair-colored tribes. It has a whole history behind it, eg. I grew up believing that Arab women are the most beautiful in the world, probably because of the dominant religion in my society, no offense to anyone but, it's only after traveling outside of Africa that, experience and probably some elements of pan-Africanism finally made me come to the conclusion that, the blacker the berry the darker the juice. Beauty is really subjective, and the perception of beauty changes with time and one's ideology. West Africa is yet to realize that '' black is the new cool.''
