I don't know that there's any houses in Japan to contain 125db Subaru. Living next door to Shuba it must sound like either there's a murders going on at regular intervals or a 747 about to take off.

There were times when I was alone at my place and would do stuff like sing loudly, whistle melodies or sometimes truly let it all out when a game truly managed to piss me off... I never suspected that I've been overheard, let alone been a bother. ...Then, a few years down the line I started hearing stuff from a neighbouring apartment, things like phone ringing, subsequent talking, and even vibrating in silent mode to a point where I had to check my own phone to make sure it wasn't mine. Big yikes, turns out all the neighbours were just the quiet type and the walls weren't remotely as good at stopping sound as I thought😅

I was in a BnB with a seperate toilet and bathroom once or twice, it is definitely convenient when you're living with two people or more and is also aesthetically pleasing(though the toilet is claustrophobic mind you. Imagine a small box with a porcelain throne, tissues, and an air refresher with your only source of comfort being the warmth of the JP toilet)

clearly the person screaming in the morning is playing Arknights. That game is well balanced and yet some stages will make you lose your mind.

@@HAJIMEDJ even Tokyo is quite cheap when compared to western metropolises. I get that "cheap for a metropolis" is still expensive, but Japan really does have low housing costs compared to countries with similar economies.

Noise complaints are always going to be an issue for streamers but it's a lot worse in Japan. It may be a very conscientious society where people care a lot about not bothering the people around them, but it stays that way because as soon as someone is being a nuisance, they get the police called on them. The ones who never move are lucky and found a place where they can be loud without bothering their neighbors.
@MakotoTheKnight Жыл бұрын
Even when I was saying in Japan, each hotel had the tub in the same room as the toilet. I don't mind that since in the States that's how it's always set up, and I live alone so there's no awkwardness from the area being double booked... I guess I don't know what it's like. Might be better, might be worse. Is it worth moving over? Depends on how much of a pain it is to move over the pleasure of having both areas separate 🤔
@kaientric Жыл бұрын
That was just an example. Except for houses they live in before joining hololive, everyone most probably have a house with separate bathroom and toilet just from the fact they would have a dedicated room for streaming. Only those smaller 1K rooms usually have combined bath/toilet.
@TF_NowWithExtraCharacters Жыл бұрын
The home baths are rather different from the hotel ones though (which are similar to western hotel designs). The whole room is a wet area, you'd do all the washing and cleaning sitting on a stool over the floor part. then use the tub purely for soaking. So if you pack another toilet seat into that arrangement you're basically at eye level with the throne at all times and probably at risk of bumping your head into it cos it's so close.
@Spyduck Жыл бұрын
@honsuaman8743 It depends on the residence in question. Landed housing often have the space for seperation of the toilet and bath, apartments very often have them together. However, there will always be exceptions for both property types.
@jakantor9106 Жыл бұрын
Tbh I prefer it separate. I like some space to shower and wash myself. Showering inside the tub is too cramped

I stayed at a place in Asakusa where the shitter, shower, and bath were all in different rooms. Living room led to the sink/toilet, which led to the shower, which led to an outdoor bath.

There's a lot of reasons for them to move, tbh. Mostly revolving around work. Good internet, close to studio, etc. The ones with great places have had them locked down for years and haven't moved. I'd wager the other places get swapped between HL employees/talents.

They tried something similar before when they got several talents on the same apartment complex but they still moved out. It could be a privacy issue, holomems preferring to renting out bigger spaces than your typical apartment complex, or not liking the idea of living too close with each other.

Not entirely possible. All it takes is someone going through legal filings to see what buildings Cover Corp. own or rent to find them. And they even had issues with people trying to wait outside the building.

That is a lot of extra work for management. What if people are dissatisfied and move out? How do you deal with empty units? Eat the loss and not rent them out to randos? Not practical unless you have lots of people who will put up with substandard conditions
